  • Princess Margaret was an elegant lady, she was my favorite royal simply cause she wasn't the queen.

  • she lived her life with zeal!!

  • O O, I am sorry. People make mistakes.

  • she has that queen of hollywood aura about her. look at that profile. she could've been a moviestar...she reminds of ava gardner

  • HH The princess Margaret. The last true Princess. Nobody else could wear Ermine and Pearls like her without looking cheap."You may call me ma'am - but close friends may call me Darling Ma'am" God rest her soul.

  • By God, but she was a stunner.

posh birds; the only ay to go!

  • I have a question I live in america and ever since I saw the movie the queen's sister a few yrs ago I have been intrigued by this woman known as princess margaret could anyone tell me what was her relationship like with her sister the queen? I thought this would have been covered in the movie the queen with helen mirren but sadly that movie was just another princess diana movie in disguise.were they close or estranged or what I get the impression the queen didn't like her sis

  • I wouldn't take The Queen's Sister at face value. It didn't do Margaret's life or character any justice. Nor have any of the biographies written about her imho. Apparently her exhusband is writing/has written a book about her. He must not want to get invited to the palace any more!

The Queen and Margaret had very different personalities but were extremely close. They were educated at home together and were pretty much each other's constant companion until Elizabeth married and moved out.

  • They remained close until Margaret's death although I think it's true that there were times when their relationship was strained. Margaret had a very hard time dealing with her father's death and I'm not sure if she ever really recovered from it.

She was talented, smart and beautiful but was jealous of her older sister's life...being the important one and having fallen in love and started a happy family while Margaret herself had a hard time settling down and a miserable marriage.

  • The queen was busy with her own duties, which kept her from even her children, so she couldn't give Margaret as much time after she was crowned. The queen also sided with her mother and the government that it would be impossible for Margaret to marry Captain Townsend-who was divorced-and keep her title. So there was love, but resentment too.

I think Margaret is fascinating. It's annoying that so many biographers just brush her off as the original Palace playgirl when there is more to her.

  • wow thank you so much you answered more questions than that movie the queen with helen mirren did you happen to see it and if so what did you think about it it was more about princess diana imo I didn't like it at all

  • I did see The Queen. i wasn't going to watch it because I thought it was a really disrespectful and tasteless thing to make a movie about, but my friend had the DVD and curiosity got the better of me. It usually does. ^_^

Subject matter aside I didn't think it was that great a movie, although I thought the occasional shots of Diana was original and effective.

It wasn't a big surprise that the movie had a lot about Diana...it was based around the aftermath of her death after all! ^_^

  • There have been a lot of movies based on the modern Royal Family. They're all pretty awful made-for-TV dramas so you're better off watching a documentary about them. There have been some excellent docs made which are way more informative...and accurate!

There have been a couple really good movies made about their recent Windsor ancestors though. The Madness of King George (based on George III) and The Lost Prince (based on Prince John, George V's son) are both worth watching.

  • The movie "The Queen" was solely based on the death of princess diana and the queen... not princess margaret...

  • your right she is a beautiful woman but she never married her true love but if she was alloweed to married group captain townsend she would be so happy but the royal family never let her married for true love

  • It was not the Royal Family's personal decision. The Queen was advised by her ministers that Margrate should not marry Group Captain Townsend who was devorced.

  • yes that is true but it is quiet sad the queen is 6 mths older than my grandma

  • So why it is so sad??? Her Majesty is about 15 or 16 years older then my grandma.

    GOD SAVE OUR CANADIAN QUEEN!!!

  • it seems that princess margret wasn't really happy. But you know what she ended up dying in a sad way of cancer but that is life but she is still a beautifule woman

  • I know She wasn't really happy. I really love Royals. I have been researching on the House Of Windsor for 10 years now. Indeed, she was one of the most beautiful woman in the world.

  • i seen her biography on the history channel last summer when they were doing diana and margret it seems like she was a fun loving person who really enjoyed her life you know frank sintra song my way she live her life her way but don;t get me wrong the queen is not as beautiful as margret

  • I even watched that documentary followed by the movie, The Queen's Sister. Am I right??? I know the Queen is not as beautiful as margret when they were young but in 2000s, Margrates' last years, Margrate used to look older than the Queen. My mom once told me that she met Princess Margarte and The Queen Mother in 1989.

  • cool, you know what both diana and margret where beautiful women of this world but both of them were never really happy with there lives but one thing they had in common they loved there children

  • I know as I have already told you I have been researching on the House Of Windsor for 10 years now. But, you have to agree that Margrate and Diana wasn't good royal. They both were good mother. If you remember that documentary's ending then you should remember that the narrater said "The Queen is very devoted person to her country but she was not a poor mother however Margarte wasn't good royal but she was a great mother."

    Do you support Canadian Monarchy???

  • Yes I do, my grandparents where born in british india so they went to school who was run by british people and they learn the king english or queen english. Yes you know what britian was the one who found canada without britian or europe the world would be a mess i remeber me and grandmum was talking about wars and stuff what is going on in Iraq and Afghanstan she said with the British they are way organized than the americans

  • Nice family background!!!

It's nice to see many monarhcists.

    God save our gracious Queen,

Long may she rule ove us,

God save and bless our noble Queen!!!

  • it is cute but grandma tend to defend the brits cause her sister lives in the us she is a doctor she is that generation who don't like the british her generation so grandma said to her sister you know that without england you wouldn't speak english and be doctor you be in some hut in india

  • You and your grandma is amazing!!! I love people like you. Hey, Did you accept my invitation as friend on the youtube. Then you can send messages to many monarchists and britishs because i have about 20 many friends on youtube.

  • yes i did, how old are you I am 30 when prince charlse and diana got married i was like 4 years old but never seen the marriage but in 1986 i seen fergie and andrew wedding

  • Sir, you would laugh. I am just 16 and I have been researching on the Royal Family Since I was 4 or 5 and my family is very very monarchist. We all love the Royals. I remember I even met the Queen and gave her flowers when I was 12. Belive me, It was like I was dreaming. I still can't forget her beautiful purple hat, her very glowing face and her blue eyes.

  • I am female it is ok, lol you thought i was a dude to you read the magazine Monarch or hello magazine but i think charlse look so happy with camilla.

  • Ma'am, I am so sorry!!! Don't think I don't know nothing. My mom even know Ingrid Seward(editor of the majesty magazine). It's "Charles" not charles, "Afghanistan" not Afghanstan and above of all it's "Margrate" not margret. Thanks for you time!!!

  • you welcome

sorry for the wrong spelling for charles and margret

  • Very elegant woman but what a boring life she led. She never worked a day in her life. I pity her because her life, apart from her children, had no true meaning.

  • She had a meaning HRH and the rest of the royal family's "lives are decated" to the people and counrty for life. Being a plublic figure head and no real freedom and a life devoted to the people of her country.

  • What a pretty woman

  • She looks very pretty

  • name of the song , please

  • "Out of Nowhere" by, Doc Cheatnam and Nicholas Payton

  • you know what sticks, I don't wanna be a pest cause I message you lots, but this is so neat, love the music and what not.

  • only one last sister of Queen's who were such had been down and up in life.

  • Very stunning and elegant woman.

  • beautiful but sad princess
