Just wanted to say thanks for uploading this video. I beat FFX a long time ago but I used an Action Replay to beat the final boss fights so I still felt I didn't beat the game. This video convinced me to train a little bit more and once I had Tidus learn Quick Hit, Flare and Doublecast for Lulu and Holy for Yuna, these fights become much easier along with following your battle strategy. Thanks again!
I remember thus boss bring easy. I did the king cactuar and overdrive to ap trick to level up tidus wakka and auron. I want to try fighting it on just a play through though, takes more skill to do that
When i first reached this boss i didn't have the slightest clue about his attacks,damage,overdrive and even what the trigger command does.. to be short,this guy was hell.
I wonder if celestial weapons was a good idea for this game. Only reason I say this because of all the combinations of weapon customization. Once I got the celestial weapons I never used any other weapons.
hey do you even try to get all each character's celestial weapons ?? that'll help... they can inflicts more than 9999 damage, and if you have a big amount of attack power you can inflict to 99999 damage
Sorry, just curious here.. but i always hear people saying they killed Jecht in like 2 hits. Is this generation just using walkthroughs and guides all the time, because for myself, i never even found ONE celestial weapon. I beat the game twice in a year and on both playthroughs i had an very hard time with Jecht.

He stoled so much for me and i was soooooooo angry when i saw this whole system... But this game doesnt cost so much nowadays. I can buy used game... @wsz71 The HP they come back with depends on how much you damaged it when you killed it. In this case, "over"-kill is bad, because that extra damage is just added on to the Pagoda's HP later.
Nice work on killing it with such low hp. I wasn't able to kill it until I grinded Auron to 7500hp. He can survive the fist grab from Jecht at that point, lol.
As Yunalesca explained: to create a Final Aeon, one of the summoner's friends must give up their lives to become the Fayth (essentially, the Aeon itself). In Braska's case, this was Jecht.
When the Final Aeon is used against Sin, it destroys the old Sin, and then Yu Yevon merges with it to create a new Sin.
So yes; you are correct in saying that this is Jecht and Sin, but incorrect in saying that it is not Braska's Final Aeon. It is both.
i used a trio of 9999 on this fight, got it done quickly, but then he started attacking twice in a turn when he pulled the sword out of his chest, which owned me lol
The final boss is 2-hit-KO eventually...The real chalenge in this game is beating things like the dark aeons, penance and nemesis without relying on zanmato!!! :D
this boss wasn't acctualy that hard espically if you had everyone's final weapon,although i will admid the yu pagoda's were really annoying espically how they dragged on the cutscene of them healing him.overall though i thought the boss was pretty easy.

before i ever went into this boss i grinded soooo hard in that area before the boss (ya know the one with the crystals?) so then i could have everyones levels up high and the have them learn everything :3 i was 4 when this game was released...so...i played it when i was...6-7...maybe 8 idk -has an interest in older games <3-
Oh my friggin goodness. I just got this boss down to two hits but it killed me. I have not been this angry in years, I am so serious when I say i will sell this game after I beat it. ps I am drastically underleveled, as I simply flee from most fights cuz i get bored level grinding.
I dont have a problem with people overpowering their characters but for me its not the way the games supposed to be played. The developers intention in their games is for you to be a a high level to be able to stand up to the final boss but not walk all over him/her. Its what makes it challenging and fun(which is the purpose of video games, fun). To this day i havent beaten Jecht and i dont plan on Overpowering my characters.
@KurikazuTheWarrior To be fair he really turned to the PC social game side when Unreal Tournament (1999) came out he was nevr any good at goldeneye but UT he was way better than me & that addicted him to social online first , admittedly that game was great, but this WoW thing is turning me away from rpg's now instead of a knights of the old republic rpg SINGLE PLAYER sequel we have to signup n play the "mmo" old republic mimicing WoW.why is everything a social facebook now.I want old deep rpgs!

@playaeyez17 Graphics dont make the game, but i agree yet again. Im not into online rpgs as they just arent my thing. I like fallout 3 because its a shooter/rpg and i did play dragonfable a while back but its way too tmie consuming, trying to lvl up to 20 in that game is like lvling up your characters to 99 in a final fantasy game. ITS TOO DAMN LONG, only difference is in final fantasy its rewarding. As for WoW i played my friends account for 5 minutes, again its not my thing.

Yeah, I believe this was made back when Youtube still only allowed 320x240 videos under 100 MB (IIRC, this was even before they instituted the "High Quality" option), but they'd still look good as long as you used the right codecs.
Nowadays, it can be quite difficult to get some games to look good on YT at anything under 720p (heaven forbid the game has fog/mist in it >_<).
I am kind of impressed with how well this one's aged, though; most of my old 240p videos look horrible today.
Yeahh, I commited the huge mistake to level up a lot before this fight, so it was toooo easy for me. I didn´t enjoy the fight. Neither I enjoyed Seymour Omnis (A fight I was expecting for almost 6 years!!).
The thing is, this version of "Otherworld" differs from the "Original Mix" you find on the official Soundtrack. The version played while actually fighting against Jecht has a more "demo" like feeling to it.

@GAF1987 The Jecht Overload causes one or more of the following symptoms: Pain, frustration, repeated slamming of your controller into the tv screen, explosive urination, violent outbursts, late nights, moments of "fuck having friends!!", writting of angry letters to Square Enix, Assassination of employees of Square Enix, head shots to employees of Square Enix, and overall feeling of aggression. Player discretion is advised. :)
my yuna with holy did like 15000 each hit, nirvana is a win weapon... and auron everytime he got to low health would pop out like 17000, those were the only 2 ultimate weapons i managed to get and unlock the rest were unnecessary and tedious :P
my most effective way to take out Braska's aeon is to use Anima and the Magus Sisters...although before I used them I had to do some preliminary damage to make sure the aeons prevailed
here are two jokes to lighten the mood 1. lulu casts bio *lifts up her arms and reveals her armpits* monster dies in one hit/whiff 2. tidus uses talk "yo mama wasnt saying that last night"
I cant beat Sin ive only done 49 hours of the game, barely grinding to just pass bosses... Im guessing you did probably 60 hours to 70 hours of grinding, considering how every character basically hits 9999 and has massive defense... And all overdrives... plus best weapons...
You have no fucking idea what you're talking about.
I don't grind...like...ever. These characters were roughly at OSG (own sphere grid) stats, with the obvious exception of Kimahri; who'd been through a small portion of Rikku's and Lulu's, and the latter half of Yuna's. I even show my stats at the beginning of the video.
The point of the video is to show a strategy; why don't you PAY ATTENTION TO IT, specifically the abilities I use.

And considering the number of people who've completed the NSG (no sphere grid) challenge, it's most certainly possible to get through the game without grinding.
The only time I grind is when I'm a few spaces away from a good ability. Otherwise, just Overkilling pretty much every boss gives you more than enough AP.

Every boss is weak to some kind of status ailment or has some strategy to them that makes them so piss easy it's not even funny. The only boss in the entire game that's hard at all, aside from Arena monsters, is Yunalesca.

I just don't use much strategy, and final fantasy 10 is the only final fantasy ive ever really cared about playing, apart from 13. i use my own style to defeat them. I don't spam the battle system like he does to get 8 shots over and over...

i let Tidius kill his father using continous Blitz Ace. I found that Kimihri is the best for giving up his overdrive for others. It was fun. An Yu Yevon isn't even worthy of the name interactive cut scene, he is a tick that takes two hits. The first to kill him and get hm healed, the second to make sure he is dead lol
lol i defeated this boss in 5 min but when the bettle starts i must wait 5 hours until my sister was home and play furter xd that makes 5 hours and 3 min o_o
Combined with grinding, this guy is pretty easy. Hastega, then doublecast Holy to hit the pillars, then have Someone attack Auron (with his celestial weapon) and he does around 20 - 30K per hit then, then quick-hit away.
I already spent too much time wandering around Shira before I went to see Jecht so he was too easy :-(
re Dark Aeons - I'm so proud I was the first person at school to figure out that Yojimbo could beat them!! the guys couldn't believe it (I was/am not a gamer) - I found out cos I was so stupid and didn't get the secret stuff from the first temple and encountered dark valefor. got desperate and spent all my gil on yojimbo... it worked!
its kinda funny, first time i played, Braska's final aeon worked me. The second time i did a little grinding to do the arena stuff, and i finished him in two turns. Turn #1: Rikku using the basic attack to put him into his second form Turn #2: Tidus using his overdrive. fight over, i win. then a random battle with some weak monster called Yu yevon happened
@Russ88765 He wasn't new. He played and completed Final Fantasy VIII first. Except for that summon at the end. I had to do that for him. But still, attack when his tail is down and heal when it's up really isn't that hard to realise. The hidden bosses are SOOOO hard. I have never beaten one. Those Weapons and dark Aeons can just go screw themselves >_>

I dont have a problem with people overpowering their characters but for me its not the way the games supposed to be played. The developers intention in their games is for you to be a a high level to be able to stand up to the final boss but not walk all over him/her. Its what makes it challenging and fun(which is the purpose of video games, fun). To this day i havent beaten Jecht and i dont plan on Overpowering my characters.

@KurikazuTheWarrior To be fair he really turned to the PC social game side when Unreal Tournament (1999) came out he was nevr any good at goldeneye but UT he was way better than me & that addicted him to social online first , admittedly that game was great, but this WoW thing is turning me away from rpg's now instead of a knights of the old republic rpg SINGLE PLAYER sequel we have to signup n play the "mmo" old republic mimicing WoW.why is everything a social facebook now.I want old deep rpgs!

@KurikazuTheWarrior As far as shooters everyone is hacking the online portion now & cheating.. halo 1 had a great classic story with a pc feel but for console & warthogs were AMAZING, I remember the xbox launch in 2001 .. but this force-me-to-play-online thing for 60 bucks is scary.thats where the money is going now i go online & ppl can hack the match & ruin the game. plus games should be more challenging you're right man these online previews & of a game 1000 times ruin it just release it!

@playaeyez17 Graphics dont make the game, but i agree yet again. Im not into online rpgs as they just arent my thing. I like fallout 3 because its a shooter/rpg and i did play dragonfable a while back but its way too tmie consuming, trying to lvl up to 20 in that game is like lvling up your characters to 99 in a final fantasy game. ITS TOO DAMN LONG, only difference is in final fantasy its rewarding. As for WoW i played my friends account for 5 minutes, again its not my thing.

@playaeyez17 i play halo not CoD and i agree, its very sad that i can find a good RPG on 360, the only thing i can find close to final fantasy is 13 but 13 sucks and is squares worse sequel in history.
Its also sad when the gamestore told me they didnt have star ocean 3(my favorite ps2 RPG and in my opinion the best rpg of all time)

Star Ocean 2: The second story was also pretty great also, I watched my friend play that the whole time when ff8 came out I was still stuck on playing & beating that hopeing It was like 7 then he got hooked on Everquest! & are game tastes changed! HE USED TO LOVE SINGLE PLAYER CONSOLES LIKE ME!...last I heard he spent 3 COLLEGE years straight! just playing World of warcraft once that came in 04... Yeah, I believe this was made back when Youtube still only allowed 320x240 videos under 100 MB (IIRC, this was even before they instituted the "High Quality" option), but they'd still look good as long as you used the right codecs.
Nowadays, it can be quite difficult to get some games to look good on YT at anything under 720p (heaven forbid the game has fog/mist in it >_<).
I am kind of impressed with how well this one's aged, though; most of my old 240p videos look horrible today.

Yeahh, I commited the huge mistake to level up a lot before this fight, so it was toooo easy for me. I didn´t enjoy the fight. Neither I enjoyed Seymour Omnis (A fight I was expecting for almost 6 years!!).

The thing is, this version of "Otherworld" differs from the "Original Mix" you find on the official Soundtrack. The version played while actually fighting against Jecht has a more "demo" like feeling to it.

my yuna with holy did like 15000 each hit, nirvana is a win weapon... and auron everytime he got to low health would pop out like 17000, those were the only 2 ultimate weapons i managed to get and unlock the rest were unnecessary and tedious :P

my most effective way to take out Braska's aeon is to use Anima and the Magus Sisters...although before I used them I had to do some preliminary damage to make sure the aeons prevailed

I cant beat Sin ive only done 49 hours of the game, barely grinding to just pass bosses... Im guessing you did probably 60 hours to 70 hours of grinding, considering how every character basically hits 9999 and has massive defense... And all overdrives... plus best weapons...

I don't grind...like...ever. These characters were roughly at OSG (own sphere grid) stats, with the obvious exception of Kimahri; who'd been through a small portion of Rikku's and Lulu's, and the latter half of Yuna's. I even show my stats at the beginning of the video.
The point of the video is to show a strategy; why don't you PAY ATTENTION TO IT, specifically the abilities I use.

And considering the number of people who've completed the NSG (no sphere grid) challenge, it's most certainly possible to get through the game without grinding.
The only time I grind is when I'm a few spaces away from a good ability. Otherwise, just Overkilling pretty much every boss gives you more than enough AP.

Every boss is weak to some kind of status ailment or has some strategy to them that makes them so piss easy it's not even funny. The only boss in the entire game that's hard at all, aside from Arena monsters, is Yunalesca.

i let Tidius kill his father using continous Blitz Ace. I found that Kimihri is the best for giving up his overdrive for others. It was fun. An Yu Yevon isn't even worthy of the name interactive cut scene, he is a tick that takes two hits. The first to kill him and get hm healed, the second to make sure he is dead lol

Combined with grinding, this guy is pretty easy. Hastega, then doublecast Holy to hit the pillars, then have Someone attack Auron (with his celestial weapon) and he does around 20 - 30K per hit then, then quick-hit away.

its kinda funny, first time i played, Braska's final aeon worked me. The second time i did a little grinding to do the arena stuff, and i finished him in two turns. Turn #1: Rikku using the basic attack to put him into his second form Turn #2: Tidus using his overdrive. fight over, i win. then a random battle with some weak monster called Yu yevon happened

But still, attack when his tail is down and heal when it's up really isn't that hard to realise. The hidden bosses are SOOOO hard. I have never beaten one. Those Weapons and dark Aeons can just go screw themselves >_>
