Thank you, Trumpetman. Takes me back to Waikiki Shell 1974, with Seawind (then Ox) with gorgeous Pauline Wilson in a jeans skirt and that tight band as a WARM UP group for Herbie Hancock, Hubert Laws, Ron Carter, Grover Washington, Jr, and George Benson when he only sang to his guitar. Sweet intro to jazz! Thank you Seawind and the Seawind Horns for all the years of great music!

I love Pauline. Her father hails from Siquijor, Philippines. The dialect they spoke there is Visayan. I come from the island of Cebu, Central Visayas. I`m very proud of Pauline. She`s got a great voice. At par with the best divas in the world.

I remember OX--Seawind's original name. They played all the venues in Honolulu, sounded good outdoors and were equally as good in a jazz club. Mahalo nui!

Remember when the Seawind horn section was doing session work for almost everybody out there? Awesome band. I'm glad they were able to patch things up a few years back for the reunion tour. The concert in Cerritos, CA was amazing.

How hot was Pauline?! I loved Seawind!We essentially made them in Detroit on my former radio station, WJZZ. Unfortunately, she broke up the band by leaving Bob Wilson for Jimmy Messina (Buffalo Springfield, Poco), as I've always heard.

I saw Seawind in concert with George Benson in Fresno, CA in the early 80's.

George almost did not get to perform because the crowd kept bringing Seawind back to the stage to keep going. It was AWESOME!!

Hey, anybody know what equipment Jerry uses?

Back in those days, Jerry played a Calicchio Bb trumpet (S1 2) with a Bob Reeves 43S mouthpiece. For a number of years now, Jerry plays a Bach 37 Sterling Silver Bell trumpet and a Bach 3C mouthpiece.

I've known Jerry for many years. We both studied with Bill Adam at Indiana University. I didn't mention it, but there was a short period of time in the early 90s when Jerry played a Kanstul copy of a Calicchio 1S 2. However, he soon after endorsed the Bach Sterling Silver Bell trumpet, along with other IU/Adam students Charley Davis and Larry Hall. Actually, I am only assuming that he is still using that equipment. Nashville studio player Mike Haynes was playing the same trumpet.

Yeah, I'd always had a feeling that Jerry, and prolly some of the other excellent practitioners, did use off-the-shelf equipment.
