@laqin007 She said in Portuguese: "É uma coisa esse menino! Tem 15 anos ainda e parece que tem 25. Ele é fantástico!". Translation: "This boy is awesome. He is 15 years-old and seems to be 25! He is fantastic!"
Lim is one of those pianists, for whom one has to hold back breathing to not to miss a note from his captivating performance. Very unique, no wonder Martha enjoys listening to him. A bright future is waiting for this young man.
@deerodchan you don't differenciate people by the prize they got. maybe the year dong participated, the standard could be high, and the winner, could be better than yundi or vice versa, furthermore, the judges are marking on their own opinion so you can't say much who is the best.
Amazing piano playing but his parents make me sick I mean look at them, he's throwing his soul out there and they're looking at him as if they're looking at a homeless guy recycling cans. I detest asian parents, just throwing it out there.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
im not really generalizing 70% of asian parents are like that; they force their child to learn an instrument/art and then when they get really good at it, they see it as their child's duty to be that good, it's not something to marvel at, and that makes me sick... and I doubt that this boys mom is any exception to that "generalization"
she is an exception, she wishes him the best and makes sure he gets plenty of sleep every night. this is actually from an interview source..
and it's not his mom that is a piano fanatic, it's his dad, who wanted to be a pianist but was too poor to afford the education.
were u expecting to see a nice smile on his mom's face? unless he is being the second Lang Lang no one's gonna smile, they will watch with a calm expression, LISTEning to the music.
Plenty of sleep? Did I say that I thought she was makin him slave around on the piano? No I didn't, I just said that her mom did not appreciate her sons playing for what it truly was. I mean for christs sake Martha Argerich looked more motherly and appreciative of the guys piano skills than his own mother, isn't that kind of sad , doesn't that make you look at the mother in disgust?
ok.. but it's probable that his mom doesn't know a thing about classical music. and u can';t tell if she is appreciating or not.. it is an old lady's face like i said, the expression becomes more depressing with age!
and argerich.. she likes raising young talent, she is a pianist after all she knows all about the music
However, lookin back at this video one extra time I see that the mom looks more tired than bored so whatever, I guess they filmed her at the wrong time... Doesn't that make you look at the cameraman with disgust and hate, LOL XD
First of all I hope your asian, second, you think his mom is gonna sit there smiling and loving it every second he plays? No parent in the world would do that if their professional-level child is just practicing for the millionth time.
First of all I hope you can read, because this argument has already been solved 8 months ago... Second, why would you hope I'm Asian that makes no sense whatsoever.
lol, I don't look through all the comments on youtube videos all the time, most of the time I just glance below the video and see the top comments, like normal people. You don't understand why I hope you're asian? lol, maybe it's because if you are asian you actually HAVE asian parents and have been immersed in that culture enough to make an informed generalization, rather than just making generalizations based on what you've seen in movies, stereotypes, etc.
I don't really remember telling you to look through all of the comments on youtube... um... all you had to do was scroll down 2 inches, like any NORMAL person, and you would've seen that the argument was over... good luck with that reading thing
OK since you insisted I read a few more posts, I read them and I saw the retraction you made, but the only post that showed up on the front page was the one I responded to. so that's the one you should expect to get a response to. But the fact that you made that initial comment at all says something.
"this boy is really something! He is 15 years old. Still 15 years old. Imagine with 25!
It´s fantastic, don´t you think?"
Thats what Martha said basically... :-D

@laqin007
Martha speaking in portuguese:
"It's really something this boy, isn't he? He has fifteen years. Fifteen yet. Soon he will be twenty five. Fantastic, isn't it?"

Sorry, have you listened the last winner Rafal Blechacz? In my opinion a true, young living legend of pianoplaying,so different and better than Li...
Ellinidara 2 years ago
And much, much more better than Li. !
Ellinidara 2 years ago
better than yundi l? who's the one that got first in the international chopin tournament.
yundi li my friend.
lim hyek dong 3rd place.
deerodchan 2 years ago
For this reason I don't believe in the international pianistic competitions,generally:-)
I respect you of course, but I totally disagree with you.
Ellinidara 2 years ago 2
well yundi li was the first winner in 15 years. that just shows you how hard to win the international chopin tournament.
no disrespect to lim hyek dong but 1st is 1st and 3rd is 3rd.

it's not good to generalize like that
sometimes, aging makes people's faces more expressionless than ever, that's probably why his mom looks like that.
i mean come on, his mom probably seen him play piano a total of 1000 hours
