I've never read anything by Clive Barker. I think the movie is decent. I like the theme, I like how it portrays something as dark as "hell's servant" - and I also like the fact that there's something disturbing, but beautiful about the ending.
Clearly this woman has never read any of the authors books, and thus has no real idea what she is talking. Nor have the writers who composed this terrible scripted waste of my time.

bad old days? Candyman and Hellraiser are IMO some of the best "oldschool"-horrorflicks ever. Midnight Meat Train was also very nice. Not the shocker, but with a creepy atmosphere. Im really thinking of buying Dread and Books of Blood.

**SPOILER** So this guy lies about who he is to this older nurturing woman at first, but then "it becomes real," she gets upset anyway, nails him to a cross, holds him captive in her haunted house, reads the book that "the dead" cut into his skin, and then sells his pain and sacrifice for money... Sounds like the plight of a lot of married guys.

Who every made this movie is a complete retard. They completely misunderstood the idea of Clive Barkers Book of Blood short story opener it was not really meant to be a story on its own as other short stories in the books such as rawhead rex.
I am so surprised that people like her get to do this kind of work. With people like her doing these intros it is no wonder people are turned off by movies before they even come out. I have seen and own a copy of Nightbreed. I can honestly say that it was a problem of marketing rather than quality. Nightbreed is an excellent movie and should be watched when you are interested in watching what can be considered a classic. Yet her uneducated attempt to cut down Clive barker just shows stupidity.

This woman can't be serious. Clive Barker is disturbed as all get out, but the man knows how to write a damn good horror story, and he knows how to make a damn good horror film!
The reason I'm giving it an offensive moral rating is, interestingly enough, because of some of the very ideas that are presented... Just come to kòòkica. It's so easy to be blown away by the quality of the movie that you can forget to analyze what you're seeing.
I am 65. This is in the top five best ever ever movies I have seen. I totally agree it is a masterpeice. I just cant believe the people who dont like it. It is available at kòòkica. Scripted or unscripted, some jackass decided that the best way to promote Clive Barker was to describe his work as 'incomprehensible' and to then flippantly have the commentator say that this latest work did not 'look like a total waste'. That they chose as their spokesmodel someone who obviously donated her brain in order to get the tan we see on her is nothing more than casting the appropriate actor to the role.
I think it would be good for her to print out her resume and Clives, put them side by side and see who has had the bigger impact on the world. She's just as vacuous as any other Entertainment Television presenter.

This CANNOT be described as a horror movie! Everything was so predictable and some things were totally out of context! i love the Books of Blood. i have 2 sets of them. i like the story Rawhead Rex, and i know there is an old movie of it, but i will NOT watch it. the story is always so much better. another great one in the Bloods is Skins of the Fathers, love the imagery.
@megannnnne read The Inhuman Condition, from the book of shorts of the same name, if you haven't already. that was a great story. also good is The Forbidden in In the Flesh. that one is about Candyman. also great is The Great and Secret Show. i didn't like Everville, which was the sequel to that one. finally, Weaveworld is so good it ought to be made into a movie by the best director and special effects people in the world.
Clive Barker is one of the most evocative, superb writers of the modern age. Judging him on movies that can over ever be a pathetic shadow of his writing is utterly unfair.

**SPOILER** So this guy lies about who he is to this older nurturing woman at first, but then "it becomes real," she gets upset anyway, nails him to a cross, holds him captive in her haunted house, reads the book that "the dead" cut into his skin, and then sells his pain and sacrifice for money... Sounds like the plight of a lot of married guys.

I am so surprised that people like her get to do this kind of work. With people like her doing these intros it is no wonder people are turned off by movies before they even come out. I have seen and own a copy of Nightbreed. I can honestly say that it was a problem of marketing rather than quality. Nightbreed is an excellent movie and should be watched when you are interested in watching what can be considered a classic. Yet her uneducated attempt to cut down Clive barker just shows stupidity.

This production is definitelly allowed to be proud. They did really great job. This film contains unbeliavable effects that you will love. It deserves 100% respect. My new number one. For me any film that has 'replay/re-watch value' (and not many action films these days do) is worthy of at least 8 out of ten. I would give this one 9 out of Ten, it is not perfect but it is still a brilliant film to see on kòòkica!!

I hope Clever-with-two-V's TV realizes the only reason anyone watched their stupid video is due to interest in a trailer for an adaptation of Clive's work. And I hope they realize any good ratings via the like button are PURELY due to people's enjoyment of said trailer. Scripted or unscripted, some jackass decided that the best way to promote Clive Barker was to describe his work as 'incomprehensible' and to then flippantly have the commentator say that this latest work did not 'look like a total waste'. That they chose as their spokesmodel someone who obviously donated her brain in order to get the tan we see on her is nothing more than casting the appropriate actor to the role.

Here's an idea...make a movie that has 3 or 4 of the books of blood stories THAT ARE ACTUALLY ACCURATE WITH NO ADDED BULLSHIT. This would be something like the original Creepshow movie but only better. I can understand minor alterations to make the screenplay work but a lot of the shit that's come out is just ridiculous.

This CANNOT be described as a horror movie! Everything was so predictable and some things were totally out of context! It is obviously that they have tried to film a book, and tried to leave some parts out! The movie is one big mess, and has so many loose ends, which you never get an answer for. I really hope the book is much better, cause this is crap. One of the worst films i've ever seen. Didn't get scared at any time, and there are no excitements, or surprises. Maybe im just to hardcore!

i love the Books of Blood. i have 2 sets of them. i like the story Rawhead Rex, and i know there is an old movie of it, but i will NOT watch it. the story is always so much better. another great one in the Bloods is Skins of the Fathers, love the imagery.

@megannnnne read The Inhuman Condition, from the book of shorts of the same name, if you haven't already. that was a great story. also good is The Forbidden in In the Flesh. that one is about Candyman. also great is The Great and Secret Show. i didn't like Everville, which was the sequel to that one. finally, Weaveworld is so good it ought to be made into a movie by the best director and special effects people in the world.
