I know it's nit-picky, but I don't think the Bible is really against "homosexuals" - the verses that are always used are clearly just about sex. Basically, if anything, God is saying "...and also don't just hook up with another guy (or girl) because that's really upsetting" and I think he's referring to the act of lusting and hooking up. As a democrat I a'm positive about anyone's right to officially marry anyone.
As a NORMAL person I do not want MY kids to be convinced that homosexuality is normal. It isn't.

However, it would be an inconvenience to these Christians to admit that many of their behaviors are against God's wishes. So, rather than admitting that they themselves also "sin", it's much easier to use logical fallacies and cognitive bias to excuse their behaviors, while still vilifying homosexuals for their orientation.

I know it's nit-picky, but I don't think the Bible is really against "homosexuals" - the verses that are always used are clearly just about sex. Basically, if anything, God is saying "...and also don't just hook up with another guy (or girl) because that's really upsetting" and I think he's referring to the act of lusting and hooking up. To be a "homosexual" there are FAR more complex emotions and romance, and the Bible is pretty quiet about that in a gay context.
