I like the film better without the hospital scene. Although Kurt's brother's reaction to his own paraplegia is important to his character, it's not important to Kurt's character. The film is about Kurt and his determination to avenge his brother. The fuel for revenge has already been established and this scene is not necessary. The acting is pretty bad too.

Love the training bit 9:55 or so, I was about 14y when I saw this movie and got so hooked. That I went outside and build me that damn rack and started imitating everything he did and bought all movies he had made at that point of time.
