I finally finished watching the video, my computer is a little slow, and I have to say I love your painting. I also love that Bouguereau copy. I know I didn't spell that right, sorry :-) How do you know what colors WB used? Do you show how to get that Old Masterly look in your DVD's? This is how I want to paint though the subject matter wouldn't be portraits but fantasy art.

Awesome video. I have just subscribed to your channel but haven't looked at your other videos yet so I am sorry if I suggest something you've already done, but could you show us some tips on painting blonde hair? Especially shading it if part of the figure is in shadow.
Hi and thanks for the question. For blonde hair, do the same as I show for the light brown hair, except use yellow ochre for your main color, lightened with a brighter yellow if needed. Streak (blend) in pure white for highest highlights. For the dark areas (shadows), use a dark earth color (umber) as I did but also streak in some violet to balance the yellow, since violet is the opposite of yellow. Experiment! You'll pick it up with practice!
Thank you for the compliments. Since you do not have a live teacher available, I encourage you to watch every painting tutorial on YouTube that shows a style of painting that you admire, for each will have something to teach you. And read art books. But mainly, paint as much as you can, for you will learn from your mistakes, each painting you create will usually be better than the previous one, and never get discouraged. Keep trying. Many of the best painters in the world were self-taught.
Sir it is very generous of you to share such an elegant technique... I am a painter from the Philippines, very young in nature and in experience and I always admire paintings that are painterly done. I always wish of having a master like you to help me improve technique and skill. But I am very sad I haven't meet anyone here. :(
I love how simple and funny you make your videos, you make it very fun and simple to learn how to paint, thank you for taking the time to make these videos:)
