I think YouTube is in an adjustment phase still after the new channel layouts happened. A desk top app that does everything custom for the hard core tubers would be a huge asset for the users and YouTube as well...We definitely need better navigation of videos, comments, and our subscriptions.

This is a good idea. I had been wondering why I don't see all my subscriptions update on the front page and end up missing several videos from certain channels because of it... it would be cool to have a feature like this indeed, for all the other reasons too.

I also wish that inline replies to comments were a bit more obvious, as they were in the previous version of YouTube. It's really a lot more difficult now to tell when a comment is a reply, even with the "@ username" in front.

Youtube should be able to add all those itself. I wish I could mouse over a Related video to read the description. I'd also like to see them fix the channel pages so that you can see creators' list of videos. The new Javascript version almost never works for me, and I have to add "#g/u" after the channel-page URL and refresh about 3 times just to find more videos from the same creator (unless he or she shows all videos in the right scroll area, but that's tedious to use when there are hundreds).

Youtube can solve this problem lickity split, just add a check box to the Subscribers name in your list, that marks it as a prioirty item in the subbox. as for comments, they need to allow a comment seach that uses youtube name as the filter. it really isnt that hard

I wonder how feasible this is, when GooTube is constantly messing with the code, adding new features (that most people don't want) and in the process breaking 10 or 12 really core, important features. This app would practically have to have artificial intelligence to be adaptive enough to work with the constantly changing YouTube platform.... Don't you think? I don't mean to be pessimistic, but seriously they change YouTube like every 5 days it seems.

I hate it when you comment on a video and then 2 or 3 weeks later someone replies to your comment, but you forgot what your original comment was. To figure out what your original comment was you have to go back to the comments and try to find yours which is near impossible on popular videos. Is there any way to fix this small problem?

@AdrianG55 yes! when looking for your comment hold Ctrl and F which opens a "find" box where you can type in anything you want to find "your username is fastest" and it will highlight and bring you to the matches of what you typed in the "find" box.

i think they should have a list the next day of everyone who posted a video the day before either out of all partners or just your subscribers, i know theres to many videos to post all of them.

i have about 250 subscriptions and sometimes ill see some videos in my sub box ill never touch than go back later and news ones will be there and ill watch most and X out others and than relize that video i wanted to see earlier wasnt there nd sometimes i forget who it was from.

Youtube does send some kind of emial once a week of my subscriptions who posted videos but i dont think its posts all of them.

so if they cant make a tool for each individual users ill be glad with a list of just parterns who madevideso the day before, jsut a simple lsit not thumnials or anything fancy.

It is always a little difficult to get used to all of the changes recently. Some I like, some I'm sure will grow on me.

As for walking talking vids, that is my bread and butter. I suppose that in the Japan-vlogger community (where I live) that's what I'm known for. Keep'em coming sir! :)

I would like to see youtube open up and be more willing to work with hulu. In that youtube would link you to hulu when you search for a show that hulu already has. I would hope it to be a direct link to the hulu website... also a grammar check would be nice

When I make a comment, particularly on a video with political content, I'm very likely to get a reply from a profanity-spewing cretin - usually WAY off-topic - challenging my right to suck air in his/her universe... a troll.

YouTube should have a way I can flag them, so that if they GOT, say, a hundred flags in a month, they'd have to reapply to YouTube to get access to their own channel. Same if they (or anyone) GAVE more than one flag a day.

Teered subscriptions to allow my new videos from Troy, John, Michele, Kevin, etc to float to the top while other channels I sub to(because they are funny) - like ShayCarl, Collegehumour, barelypolitical, etc to sink to the bottom of my recentent subscribed to videos list.

That way I can make sure to watch the videos of those I care about without unsubbing the videos made by people who entertain me.

From a users point of view I see what your asking for an it all sounds great. But as a web designer when I look at all the things your asking for my head starts to spin just thinking of all the code that would need to be created. It would also bog down youtube with extra code and make it slower.

I don't know I think you have great ideas, but I would not want to design or redesign anything like youtube. No one will every truly be happy and it would make my head hurt.

I've thought it was a great idea when Renetto started talking about it last week.

I'm just wondering if Youtube doesn't allow for it because of advertising. The apps would allow you to bypass ads which pay for the site. I'm not sure how twitter gets around this? Do they even have ads? I'm sure its a much cheaper site to run since 140 character messages are much smaller data to store and distribute than even short videos.

oh, i found something:

you can edit a subscription to get an email-notification when your subscription uploaded a new video. you can find this on the channel-page.

I haven't tried it yet but it seems like a nice feature, although a little bit inconvenient because you wouldn't find it at first sight.

Oh, and I'd like the Insight feature to actually work. If my video has more than 100 views, there's no reason I shouldn't be able to get demographics and attention level graphs on it. And why can't I see WHO favorited my video, only THAT it was favorited. How does that help?

And the video quality for the Palm Pre seems alright, but the video did get pixely at times and the audio was slightly out of sync. Hope if can be fixed.
