i owned a 126 with the 280 m110 engine.. but my engine wasnt that fast.. it seems to be tuned a bit.. the w123 has bigger weel on the back..

@superhep44 erm... nope) anyone with a brain would prefer an old merc) not a 126, cuz it's way too expensive to service, but a w 123 which is a huge load of car for the money it costs, and parts are really cheap.

where i live you'd never ever ever get a good vw (only except for a golf 2 or a passat b3 maybe) or a hyundai for that sort of money, and they'd require a bit more to service.

@SBT300 I know that the factory stock 280E got the M110, but I asked about THAT 123, because this DOHC piece of shit hasn't any chances with the 560.

Check the user "TestdriverDE" account for the gold 123 with 5.0 M117. I can't read the license plate, but it looks similar to that 280.

So with the M117, this could be real that she can beat the 560SEC.

But no fuckin' way with the standard M110 ;-)

@K1ROVEZ It's definitely not a V8, you can hear that. The W123 is lighter and has a manual gear box. If the guy in the W126 leaves it in D, it will launch in second gear, not very quick. I don't think it is unrealistic. Of course the V8 has more power, and therefore it wins in the end. But this could very well be a stock m110.

@SBT300 it couldn't be stock anyway. You can check it ewerywhere: 560 got around 7 sec to 100kph, and 280E got 9,5 - no chance... The gearbox starting on second gear it's true, but not if you press the pedal "to the metal" - then will launch KD and make it from first gear, and during drive automatic gearbox is always faster than good, or very good driver with manual gear. This may be possible only if the guy in SEC just don't wanna win this race :-)

obviously the c126 was an automatic and the w123 was a manual. The c126 was built for top end not to rocket off the line. Thats why he overtook in th end

the 126 has a crappy automatic transmission, and the 123 has a fine manual, and thats a very huge advantage.
