listen, to all you douche bags who want to criticize. of course beryl/compiz is better. and yes im aware of the new software, such as deskspace and desktopcube. this is an old video anyways. but it was just to share with people that there are some desktop effects for windows xp. so shut the fuck up about how much better linux is. i know. so leave it be and chill out :)
Compared to the ammount of time that Yod'M has been in development versus compiz/beryl, this works well and has a good chance at being equal feature-to-feature with compiz/beryl. Ease on up, neg-people.
yes i know beryl is a theme manager where yodm only adds the cube effect, i also run ubuntu and have beryl installed but isnt compatible with my ati radeon x1300 card.
2 things 1. I really like the alienware theme you've got 2. profx111 is correct to an extent, it is similar because it puts the desktop on a cube, but it is nothing like the real thing aside from that
if you want the full experience, download sabayon linux or opensuse or ubuntu and put either beryl or compiz fusion on there (if you get sabayon it comes with compiz)
It is not similar to Beryl, because it is no full featured window manager, and it CANNOT do compositing, which makes it pretty useless in real use case scenarios (now it's just eye candy)
does this application slows down your computer badly?

I'm not really sure I understand the point of these new desktop cube things.
Can someone explain why they're any good?

Dude what screen recording software do you use? I tried to record my Yodm 3d with camtasia and it sucked cause it lagged so much.

Fail >_>;; The 3D desktop effects eat to much ram...and have no video support..they have potential to be good though.

this Sucks hardcore compared to Linux+Beryl. Try out Sabayon linux if you want a good looking OS. Check MY VIDEOS for some sabayon+beryl action
