  • Totally agree with the over reliance on technology. Awesome video Kent ^-^

  • Sometimes it just has to be about the run or getting out without the distraction. I know my workout yesterday was completely different than my typical zoned out on the elliptical trainer. It exercised my brain and willpower to keep going as much as my legs and arms.

  • I totally understand the ipod thing, I actually went out yesterday without it for a walk and I felt a bit like "what is the point", then I realized I wasnt walking to listen to music I am doing it to get a nice ass lol

  • That is definitely a good reason to go out. :-) Losing the iPod has definitely been a blessing in disguise as it showed me how much I depended on that little thing. I think I might have to buy 2 for redundancy. :)

  • oh no :O running without ipod? that is something to think about.

  • I'm struggling w/ my stupid Diet Coke habit! Anyone have tips? I last a few days, but I always come running back to my master! :)

  • I had a 4liter per Diet dew habit. Here are my suggestions:

    * purchase a different brand soda - like a store brand or Coke/Pepsi alternative - for similar taste, but not quite the same

    * purchase carbonated flavored water instead - you are getting a taste and the fizz

    * buy headache tablets to deal with the caffeine withdrawal

    * Pay yourself for each day without soda or set a end of week reward. Note: reward can't be soda. :-)

    Just some thoughts...

  • Your doing great!! I love to run with my music too :) Great video :)

  • Thank you Lorraine. BTW congrats on your 1.8 pound lost last week - I haven't had to chance to post it yet. That is fantastic news!

  • Dude, I'm the same way. I refuse to run without my music. When I was in the Marines, I hated not being able to run with an ipod. Candence does help a little though, especially if it's a motivating one!

  • That was actually the only way I could start running at first. Downloaded a bunch of cadences and put them on the mp3 player - even the whole "clap on the left foot" thing. At some point whatever gets you out the door is a good thing. Unfortunately if it keeps you inside when it gets lost or stolen, then it is probably too much.

Truth be told, I am more likely to be listening to an audiobook or a podcast than music while running, and I guess the same can be said only running with a group.

  • great video. you're so right...i can't live without my iPod.

  • We get so focused on the music that doing anything without seems like torture. I had a tough time in my workout today, but feel stronger for completing the hour.
