These things should be torn down. They have all kinds of crap inside them. Asbestos, foam tiles, all kinds of shit. They were experiments that failed and shouldn't be standing anymore.
Bally28,how were the fire service dire?? Were you there?? I was,i'm a firefighter, let me tell you,my collegues and i did everything possible to reach those on the 11th floor,we fought the fire floor by floor in appalling conditions,we just couldnt get through the fiercest fire ive ever been into in time to get them out,you dont know how close we came and you dont know how devastated we all are that we didnt get them out. Whats 'dire' is comments like yours, get your facts right before commenting!
I once lived on the 10th floor a few years ago.The place like most tower blocks was a death trap. When i was there we had about 2 fires but only small ones. There was always kids messing about in the lifts and stairs i hope it was not arson.RIP
tall buildings and tower blocks like this one should have metal stair cases on the outside of the building like in New York, because maybe no-one would have died other wise.
At the bottom of Heaven man stole earth its all bad and fell to the nature of the beast that takes you creating against my will all that is evil death abominating, you do not have a law to exist.
All mortal life form classification vermin, your not burning because you are good.
Godtomanonly> why don't you just keep your ignorant religious claptrap to yourself? You are barely literate. Educate yourself, drop the god nonsense and then come back and comment on tragedies like this when you have something useful to say.
Apparently there was only one staircase, and that was down the centre of the building. There were no staircases at either side of the building, which seems totally crazy.
Shame on the local housing authorities for allowing these people to live in such vulnerable conditions. There is no excuse for this.
What happend there look realy bad and all those deads its just horrible

That's why I wouldn't consider living in a tower block or even a semi detatched house, if one catches fire, they all might.
So one resident could be as careful as possible when it comes to fire prevention, but die as a result of their neighbour's carelessness.
