Paul was the only one who didn't want to break up. George wanted out, John wanted out. Ringo, who knows. As long as he had booze, I think he was fine either way. I still don't agree with Paul announcing the break-up without consulting the other Beatles, and then immediately putting his solo album out with the ensuing media blitz. That was a bitter divorcee move. It wasn't his band to break up. I don't know the details of the business dealings and his suing the others so I won't comment.
@ccaarroolliinnee1000 That song is called "Be-Bop/Hey Diddle Diddle" which is also available on The "Wingspan" Double CD/ Disc 2/ Track 21. You can get the Double CD on Amazon.com
it's really sad to me to see that he passed through all this to find a good way to start his solo carrear. But the good is that his solo carrear is FANTASTIC, i really love it, since wings till now.
To all the negative people that only focus on that---god bless all the beatles and there wives and ex wives and all there children Iam sure we were blessed to experience all of them and all there experiences the good and bad..!!!
that type of living has been my dream for ages now. I would actually love to just live in the middle of nowhere and avoid all types of people and society.
Linda McCartney was one of the greatest women to ever live. "Maybe im amazed" think about the love you would have to have for someone to write a song like that. Its raw and deep and couldnt be written about just anyone.
I have a hard time believing Paul was broke anytime after The Beatles. Even if a lot was tied up, surely he had his own money. I mean, come on, was there a John, Paul, George & Ringo joint checking account or something lol
He could have been off carousing around the world with the high and mighty and he chose to live in a cottage in the middle of nowhere with his family...amazing guy Paul.
After all of these years I STILL think "Back Seat Of My Car" was Paul's best song post-Beatles. BTW the orchestrial score for that was supposedly written by George Martin (although he didn't produce or conduct the orchestra).
I think Paul should give the "Ram" album alot more credit. He probely does, don'y really know. But all i can say that album impacted me in a HUGE way. I, personaly, hold "Ram" in high esteem, higher than, dare i say, "Band On The Run".
i'm also really disappointed with what i'm hearing of Ram. I enjoy "Maybe I'm Amazed" quite a lot, but I can't dig that terribly poor imitation of the beatles that they played first from Ram.
It seems like Paul was doing the same thing he did in the Beatles--take what John was doing and make it accessible.
He was always the cheese in the macaroni, but what's macaroni without cheese?
I give Paul credit here. He gives insight into his insecurities and plainly says that Linda is the one who saved him. That says a lot about both of them.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
yeah she really saved him from a life of derelict beardedness living on his 400 acre "lumber yard" with horses and livestock and (apparently) film cameras.
Well I think that Paul was devastated about the breakup and really did feel useless for a time there. He certainly had a large ego and The Beatles fufilled that. When that was gone he was unsure where to turn. I think Linda showed him there were other possibilities. You're right about the cheese though...lol.
Yeah I absolutely agree about the thing with Linda. They're really cute together/balance each other out it seems. And the way he's talking to his daughter about her "mum" the entire time is so wonderful. I love the part a few videos back when she says the thing about Linda being pregnant with her at the time of the "dirty weekend" and Paul just beams a smile and says "yeeees."
This really made me appreciate his personality: he's much more interesting than I thought he was.
I read up on it recently and Paul did in fact own a 1969 Gibson J-160E! But he only used it when he went to Jamaica with Linda in the very early 1970's.
I want a love and family life like Paul and Linda had.

Paul still had his songwriting royalties. Most of that money did go to ATV who bought Northern Songs, but Paul and John did get songwriters' cuts. \
