  • Although peace is ideal we will never get world peace so eat what you want and enjoy it.

  • Good video. Interesting topic. I admire the way of thinking but I personally don't believe in god and I have no problem eating meat. It's something humans have been doing since the beginning of our dominance as a species. We are killers. It's instinct to hunt our food and fight others for what is ours. I do think violence gets out of hand but there is much war in our history. There is nothing we can do so choose to embrace it. You get feelings of anger for a reason so although peace is ideal. W

  • I take all my previous comments back about sikhs are allowed to eat meat.

  • Please say something about this. It is clearly against the code of Khalsa

    youtube.com/watch?v=l2OsasJ2e2g

  • Also God doesn't care if you eat meat or not. You will have to ans that one day but take care of the other sins. Just be good to what ever religion your belong to and respect other Religion, Races and Genders. This message also goes to my atheist brother.

  • last but not least would like to even though there had been stories of Guru consuming meat but we all know that the diet they had was mostly VEGETARIAN. Also the 10Guru's hukam to the Afghan Sikhs was that they should eat Kutha meat Kosher/Halal. Reason I say Afghan Sikhs iss that the original Hukam with Guru Ji's handwriting was found. Also the famous general Like Akali Pholla Singh did Consume meat too. But since there is so much confusion It will be best it Baptized Sikh avoided Meat.

  • @MegaSikhism Guru ji never allowed afgans to halal or kutha meat or any by means of rituals, Sikhism is strictly against Rituals.

we are allowed to eat Jhatka

on basis of morality jhatka is right

Halal is very painful to animal

Halal is prohibited in many countries where as jhatka is used at that place !

ok bro ? doubts clear !

  • Also there had been stories of our Guru's eating meat and Hunting animal i don't after they hunted the animal they left it there. They prolly took and served it to the people or ate it with the people.

  • Personally eating meat is allowed in Sikhism. When 1st Guru was asked by the yogis and jogis whether eat meant is holly or not he said," Only foolish people spend time thinking about it" Read Sidh Ghost. Just type sidh ghost it has english translation to it too if you don't understand Gurmuki.

  • love this guy :D doesn't matter if he's right or wrong just love the way he presents his points. :)

  • Most of the religions if you check carefully, they will take you towards vegetarianism. But we are in general slaves of our senses. So, learned people don't force anyone as it wont work.

  • @RR369 bro its true that people are slaves of our senses and it leads to destruction of human being there for we need to control our MIND(SENSES) there for some time to need to fore it for our and his betterment.

  • @adamisking666 Sikhism is Sikhism. Not a branch of hinduism. SOME things may come from hinduism, but Sikhism was only created because of the flaws in hinduism and islam. I really hope you haven't told anyone else this lie.

  • I look Sikhs as Sadhus and Warriors, not shaving and having a kripaan. Most of the gurus have Hindu God Names. Gobind = Krishna, Har = Shiva, Hari = Vishnu. We are what we Eat.

  • God belongs to everything, not just humans. Why WOULD you kill an animal?

  • all the teachings of sikhism is from hinduism

  • @adamisking666 ur mad

  • @adamisking666 Yea, especially the part of there being one God (Ek Ong Kar)...

  • @adamisking666 Not exactly. But even if it were true, there are things that can be admired about Sikhism as a separate religious tradition. I like it.

  • sounds like this guys is saying how his belief can mean nothing .. 'infinte'

and this is accurate religion here means nothing

  • Is eating meat bad karma? /watch?v=ytEz2GQOVNk

  • I believe that Gurumustuk makes a very valuable point: many of us have detached ourselves from the process of making food that we're not aware where the food comes from and how it was made. I am a meat-eating Sikh myself, and no matter what your diet is we should be aware of where our food is coming from.

Food is the fuel that drives the engine which is our bodies. From now on I am going to be more aware of where my food comes from.

  • these Gore Sikhs do Kundlani Yoga, Idol worship , Hawan etc etc ( all against Sikhi)

    Benaras ke thagg

  • @cjsingh2008 Honestly, most Punjabi/Sikhs to the same. All you have to do is go to the homes of Sikhs in Delhi and Haryana... Same shit and not all do.. so get off of that bandwagon

  • Muslims believe that the GOD Allah has ordained that we eat meat that is Halal and that is the ethical basis that we derive eating food Halal.

  • true. its all about consciousness paving way to know more of oneness- so to not kill or harm another. aum

  • I agree with the discussion. People will always invent their own excuses to eat meat or smoke, even though they are prohibited from doing so.

  • @MrRange12345 who prohibits anything ?

  • Why do vegetarians bring the pain idea into the talk because plants also feel pain. Don't eat vegetables then ;0

  • @razaa09 plants r simple & r not killed bt the fruit they grow is plucked only so that old pathetic arguement of plants being killed is just garbage. all fruits, veg r plucked from their plants, potatoes r uprooted & thy dont cry like pigs, goats, cows, lambs etc neither plant feels any pain when the fruit/veg is plucked from it.

  • @MrPunjabi108 man plants have feelings and some even move!

  • @razaa09 dude, re-read wht i've said earlier..the plant is NOT uprooted but the fruit or veg that it grows is PLUCKED ONLY.

  • @MrPunjabi108 than you should be allowed to star fish as well since they re-groe their parts as well just like their fruits.

  • @razaa09 star fish r part of the eco-system tht forms the 'MAM-SAH' meat food chain - it is a crustachian fish type with its own life cycle of producing clones & move abt freely. Plants dont move abt the earth with their own roots etc but r programmed to grow vegetables & fruits. All the veg we eat is actually scientifically termed as fruit since it grows off the plant. Peas, cucmbers, all beans, tomatoes, brinjals, ladyfingers, etc etc

  • @MrPunjabi108 it does not matter, how you categorize them? Starfish are well known for their powers of regeneration just plants can regrow fruit; and saying that you would only eat things which do not move i sjust silly because there are no ethic bases behind it.

  • today I will be hunting a whitetailed deer humanely and with fairchase this sacred animal will feed my family and close friends for several weeks and the herd wil grow stronger the deer and my own thank you for you great wisdom.

  • ok, but you N-E-E-D meat...... yknow, to be healthy?? If I cut out meat..... id be sick, quite literally. I NEED meat. lol

  • @BlainePistolle Really?? Dang... my uncle's a Vegan for 20 years and he's really healthy... Witchcraft much...O_O

  • @icyheart93 well, lack of meat causes anemia, etc. thanks for calling me a witch out of nowhere tho /:

  • @icyheart93 Veganism rules. Is meat eating bad karma? /watch?v=ytEz2GQOVNk

  • Discussion on this topic is never rational. Most people are slaves to their taste buds and then invent so-called rational arguments to justify those totally irrational preferences. Worse, they find support for their views in their holy scriptures or the supposed sayings of their gurus and prophets. Some even invent stories of their gurus and prophets - stories which have no basis in reality. SI BETTER NOT DISCUSS THIS TOPIC.

  • @GUNIDAS "You have to eat what makes you feel you good". IMHO, people will continue to eat what they like AND what is cheap. Values are not often included in the personal consideration of what to eat in the larger secular society. As religious minority, how do you choose your diet for yourself and your family? In Western countries a vegetarian as well as an halal diet are fully possible, though I don't see any Jhatka meat based diet here. So my view is, love your blessed food over secular food.

  • @Zaankanter That is exactly what I say. Eat what makes you feel good - vegetables or meat or anything else. But please DO NOT bring religion or gurus or prophets or scriptures to justify your choice. Simply say "I eat what I wish to".

  • Plants are not living creatures? Fish do not have nerves, so therefore can not feel pain, so how would that creature be any different from the plant that you believe can't feel it. "...life feeds on life, feeds on life, feeds on life..." Other animals eat other animals, and this is seen as good, yet the human animal can not?

  • @CAPTMargret if u start doing yoga , u will stop eating meat naturally...

  • Guru Granth Sahib, Ang1289:

The fools argue about flesh and meat, but they know nothing about meditation and spiritual wisdom. What is called meat, and what is called green vegetables? What leads to sin? It was the habit of the gods to kill the rhinoceros, and make a feast of the burnt offering. Those who renounce meat, and hold their noses when sitting near it, devour men at night.

  • WELL SAID

  • Based on the STM (sgpc.net, section 6):

    Kurahet's:

    1. Dishonouring the hair;

    2. Eating the meat of an animal slaughtered the Muslim way;

    3. Cohabiting with a person other than one's spouse;

    4. Using tobacco.

  • @gaganjisinghji im doin all of those -_- well done !

  • @gaganjisinghji

does it even matter what SGPC says.....SGPC is nothing....can we discuss things in the light of our Guru's teaching please....Guru Granth Sahib's teachings.....it is a pitty that you choose to discuss what SGPC says but have you ever tried and read what our Guru says....SGPC is nothing....Guru Granth Sahib is everything!!!

  • @kanthasingh54 yes. but the sikh rehat maryada is part of the panth. you might have predispositions of "sgpc" but i merely use "sgpc" to refer to the panthic parvaan sikh rehat maryada. which is based on the guru granth sahib's teachings.

i'm not trying to convince anyone to eat or not eat, i don't care. i'm just telling you what the sikh rehat maryada says, based on a group of individuals from different viewpoints who made consensus through pain staking analysis...

  • Maas Maas kar murkh chagrey gyan tehyan nahi janey, kon mas kon saag kahavey kin me paap samaney

Guru Granth Sahib says people fighting over the topic of eating meat or not are fools. I dont want to say anything against or in favour as it would take too long to explain it all. But concentrate more on what you are doind in your life. Not eating or eating meat in my opinion doesn't effects lot. What effects is what we do. Are we trustful? Do we speak truth? Do we respect everyone? Are we honest?

  • We have canine teeth for a reason. We are carnivores and have always been. Being a vegetarian you can suffer things in your body that you do not get from eating meat.

I was a veggie for a year so I can speak to this first hand.

If you do not want to eat meat that is fine but I am sure God is not looking down saying. This person is bad because there eating meat.

  • @chaksheba Humankind has made the decision, for survival or whatever reasons, to eat meat, so are teeth have evolved, this is why we have canines. "Lucas argues that the mechanical process of chewing, combined with the physical properties of foods in the diet, will drive tooth, jaw, and body size, particularly in human evolution." So we have canine teeth because of evolution. If we over the years ate vegetarian we might not have had canines. I'm neither here nor there I'm just saying

  • @chaksheba Guru said not to eat meat unless in extreme situations. Living in the 21st century world, you should not have any trouble in eating vegetarian foods. HOWEVER, He also told us that if that situation does arise, then you must kill the animal yourself, in compassion and not waste any of its body. Once again, you are questioning God instead of following Him. Thats exactly what He told us not to do.

  • @chaksheba We do not have canine teeth. We have two defensive fangs the same as the FRUITARIAN gorilla. They are also for piercing the thick skin of fruits. We have never been carnivore. Not even meat eaters are stupid enough to declare humans as carnivores. We share NOTHING with carniovres. God is a myth.

  • @MickScarborough your last comment as "God is a myth" just proved to me your ignorance. Do you even know what it light and what is darkness?

  • @MickScarborough ohh...I see...Your one of those PETA ppl and an Atheist. Ok move along.

  • @MickScarborough

look at our closest biological relatives.....chimpanzees....eating meat in the jungle...

    watch?v=WHfBC73-Xwg

Much before the advent of civilization man used to hunt and eat meat..!! Humans, chimps and gorillas have always been omnivores....we can have anything...meat, fruit or vegetable...!! Does a lion get bad karma for filling his stomach?? Then why shud I??

  • unfortunately we dont live in a perfect world..at any moment society could fall...what would you vegetarians do then? no farms ...to grow food takes time..vegetarians will not survive a collapse at all..its irresponsible and plain stupid to be a vegetarian from a survival point of view..if you got lost in the jungle ud all die! what would you eat? unless youre an expert botanist ..ud die! vegetarianism is a result of a stable society only!i hope for your sakes u dont see a downfall!

  • ps. think JAPAN have you thought how screwed a vegan or vegetarian is there right now....

  • @WORLDARYANREVIVAL

wow you must be very afraid of death? From you point of view vegetarians are stupid but vegetarians may laugh about your worries.

  • Vegetarianism is great.

I don't undestand why people are under the impression that they need to eat the pesticide-laden corpses of tortured animals in order to be healthy.

These animals are fattened up with plants, sprayed with pesticides, for the sole purpose of making a profit.

Most of th farm land in the world is dedicated to the sole purpose of raising livestock which is then fed to people who eat meat.

  • @Hackiesacker007 as a fellow vegetarian, let me just say what you are saying isn't factual information. most farm land in the world is technically dedicated to feeding humans, and animals aren't nessesarily "pesticide laden" they have this thing called a liver and kidneys which filter out that bad stuff. i don't know why i am correcting all of your statements but a lot ot them seem very ignorant

  • My opinion is this - Sikhism is not about dogma, and vegetarianism is another form of self-projection based on subjective perception of spiritual values. Everything we eat is based on life. As long as the animal is treated humanely and does not suffer, I don't see a problem with it. I also take offense to the comment below stating that invariably meat eating sikhs are also alcoholic ones...pure rubbish, and misrepresents meat as a vice, rather than what it really is (a gift of food).

  • @TheOilyOctapus You are right my friend, even the guru is saying "Maas Maas kar murkh chagrey gyan tehyan nahi janey, kon mas kon saag kahavey kin me paap samaney". We can't tell whether the sin lies in eating meat or not.

  • @TheOilyOctapus We contradict ourselves when we say animals feel pain due to meat production but when we drink milk that has been mass produced and during this process what happens to the calf and how they are seprated from their mothers and what pain the cow feels due to oversized tits caused by genetic modification.

  • first of all Sikhism believes in karma so if you kill an animal put it through pain expect same for yourself. Sikhism also believes in daya (Compassion) just for the taste of your tough you butcher a animal put it through so much pain thats not daya. if anybody wants to eat meat they can but its wrong to say its okay in sikhi... ਅਸੰਖ ਗਲਵਢ ਹਿਤਆ ਕਮਾਿਹ ॥ ਅਸੰਖ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਾਪੁ ਕਿਰ ਜਾਿਹ "Countless cut-throats and ruthless killers Countless sinners who keep on sinning"

  • @Gatka4Ever

wat about the 'pain' u cause to plants when u cut off their leaves to eat urself??

    SGGS says...

'The fools argue about flesh and meat, but they know nothing about meditation and spiritual wisdom. What is called meat, and what is called green vegetables? What leads to sin? It was the habit of the gods to kill the rhinoceros, and make a feast of the burnt offering. Those who renounce meat, and hold their noses when sitting near it, devour men at night. ' (page 1289)

  • Where's the hookah reference coming from? I've read the one about halal meat but not the hookah.

  • everything is meat :)

and sikhi tells us not to argue about this nonsense topics

    its your own choice

waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh

  • wowwww.... beautiful explanation.... and thank god you started making these useful and helpful videos....

  • sikhism support nature and the natures rule is in jungles big animal eat other and in water fishes also do same...human jst started living in civilization 4200 years ago before that 50,000 years humans were eating meat in jungles if they dont eat then i dont think that we are not alive today...

  • can you tell me any good vegetarian recipe's to make and how to make them pls I would like to be a Veg but I dont really know how to cook the food

    thks

  • @707centavo check out this chef "vahchef" on youtube. he's not vegetarian but he has a lot of vegetarian indian food videos up.

  • It's individual choice to be vegetarian or not to be. Being one of them doesn't make you less or more Sikh.

  • @hardipsingh7 thats really wat i think.....

  • @hardipsingh7 everything is up to the individual. no one is forcing anyone to do anything. the question is whether or not it is right to eat meat. invariably the meat eating sikhs are also the alcoholic sikhs...

  • @ojmoss gurfateh...right or wrong I have no ideas regarding this but I'm fulling concentrated my self to contemplate and understanding what Guru Granth Sahib Ji have said and applied its ... invariably the veg. eating sikhs are also failed to control the 5 vices (KAM, krodh , loh, moh & anger) ;-)

  • I loove the last comment :-)
