  • can I be an electrician if I take Electrical Engineering Technology

  • @kevler8803 No, you will not be considered an electrician after Electrical Engineering Technology. Although you'll be smarter and more valuable then one.

  • @computer188 thanks for the reply. I just hope the job market is well.

  • @kevler8803

No problem. That will just depend on where you live and how well the economy is doing.

  • Can colour blind people be electricians?

  • @taccognaman affraid not!

  • @taccognaman They must be because I cant remember how many times I got hit off of a ground wire because some idiot put it on a common screw.

  • Why go to school to be an electrician. Just put in a job application with an electrical contractor. Be an apprentice. Then take the test and become a real electrician. No school required.

  • @TheClifford777

And you view that as a good thing? Education isn't some bad thing that you have to put up with to get to where you want to be. Knowing what you're doing is a good thing. Not to mention that there are plenty of programs that provide both an apprenticeship and classroom time.

  • @zeppelinfromled school aint a bad thing but if you want to be an electrician dont waste your time and money it will not get you any further ahead

  • @thinklarge21 I agree, it is hard to get a electrical with just the diploma but without any experience in the field.

  • @xdivisionx electrical job*

  • Not sure about this place, one of the students, used long nose pliers to cut a single cable conductor, lol even then he had to grind the cable, then again it did not cut,lol 0.43 on the time, me im a sparky, i was a electrical and electronic Eng, but the uk is no place for scientists, Engineers or technologists so i got on the tools, i love it

  • These courses are excellent for learning the basics in electrics, paticularly if you want to set up and become a Domestic Electrical Installer, they will teach you all you need to know.

But you will need to get expierience aswell, working for a company, a local sparky, shadowing, doing work for your friends and family. Just to make sure you are comfortable in working in other peoples homes, you don't want to become a cowboy.

Some excellent courses out there though, do your research.

  • for starters the're mexicans working so you know thats bullshit plus you would fry yourself using those sort of handtool's on electrical work
