  • This looks to be a Avro Lancaster. After a bit of searching on wiki. Looks like the B-24s cousin. I think you should put "Avro Lancaster" in the title.

  • @ramhoves Thanks for the clarification Title updated as suggested :-))

  • might be another flying soon

  • @russthebiker .......one would have thought that there are enough spare parts some where to rebuild or renovate more aircraft

  • @CraftyPip there is another lanc called just Jane not far from the battle of Britain flight

hopefully she will be airworthy soon

however its very expensive to get a Cof A plus some of the spares are so old they are unusable, and soem parts sych as the main spar for the wings need to be made at great expense

this country has lost all the skills and tooling

also to renovate many of the existing lancs stored in museums would require them to be dismantled and rebuilt so losing origionality

  • @russthebiker Yes...renovation is always more expensive than we think...one only has to think of todays technology and that it is more viable to scrap and buy anew ...a shame really but with so little money around, it will may mean the death knell for some aircraft.

  • It's like old version of B-52 :)

  • @TheSoliorol ........I thought it wars similar minus 2 engines to the B-25 Mitchell Bomber .....but then I´m not to brilliant with details of aircraft

  • @CraftyPip

it's rather the Avro Manchester + 2 Engines

  • @davevanden1, aw yea :)

  • we have the other one here in Hamilton canada :) awesome plane

  • She was over Bournemouth a few weeks ago - fabulous!

  • It`s not just a plane

    It`s a piece of awesomeness

  • @Latvietis96 Yes ...I like the way you put it.

  • There is only 2 left in the world an I saw 1 flying just over linconshire and at that point that was the only 1 flying

  • @olinixon ...It will be a sad day to see the last one finally grounded...but who would have thought the same of Concord..

  • i have a couple vids of the lancaster flying from this summer MY FAV BOMBER!

  • As a school kid I could only dream of ever seeing such an aircraft as an Airfix model...the reallity is breathtaking . It´s such a shame so few are left, let alone flying

  • where is this filmed from?

  • Filmed near to the old cement works to the rear of Lancing College Sussex
