  • Great video! Thanks for posting mate :-) But I couldn't quite make out her rego though. Oh well, still looked awesome :-)

  • Is there anything more beautiful than a Qantas 747?

  • 0:53 What was the callsign "Somethingarather 1594 heavy"

  • Is it live or u do it with the camera

  • Beautiful bird, haven't flown the A380 yet, but the 747-400 will always be the queen of the skies.

  • @The1dasha Agreed! :)

  • The 747-400 is a true classic jumbo jet.

  • @cabrame Agreed. She is, and will always be, the Queen of the skies :)

  • @jjouney Every Queen needs a king tho! :)

  • Beautiful plane I rode one of those 747 from Manila Philippines to LAX. 12 hours. traveling north near Japan down near Alaska down the coast of Washington State. Heavy turbulance near alaska or Oregon somewhere. I also rode those old time Companies "PAN AM". I miss them.

  • @vxenon67 Interesting, I too miss Pan Am especially their Pacific flights. Nowadays Philippine Airlines flies the route.. The westbound flight stops in Guam or Honolulu- the return flight back to LAX is non-stop.

  • love the 747s

  • YES SIRR-REEEE, AS THEY SAY: THESE THINGS ARE SO HUGE, THAT, IT SEEMS THAT THEY ARE NOT GOING FAST AT ALL.....BUT THEY REALLY ARE.....YUP - TOTALLY TOTALLY AWESOME, I LOVE LOVE LOVE PLANES!!!!

  • That plane's at Victorville in storage right now.

  • WHO disliked this video!??? Seriously!?? Video shows exactly what the title states, and has live ATC!!!

geez... people these days, are not happy with anything... grow up

  • what was the flight number/tail number of this aircraft?? i actually think that that was my aircraft taking off because i remember that EXACT private jet!

  • @bratonabike Flight number of this Qantas Flight was QF107, the tail number/registration of the B747 is VH-OEB, also known as "Phillip Island".

  • @bratonabike omggggggggggggggggg you have me on camera ;D *feels like a boss* :D

  • Nice vid, I travelled on this beast to and from my journey to Thailand and back (New Zealand). Fantastic ride! Would like to try the A380 next time.

  • so cool

  • That is amazing! By the way, was that the VH-OEB "Phillip Island"?

  • Both the Citation and the 747 are stunningly beautiful

  • Where did you film this?

  • LAX is the IATA-code for Los Angeles Int. Airport.

  • super wihich airport ist LAX ?

  • @JoZimful i dont know but i think it could be los angeles

  • Nice video!!!!

  • Run slow take off quick - nice

  • this is a huge plane

  • how do you get this raadio because i want one...can you please temm me where can i purchase it

  • I can't stop looking at this video... the new paint scheme for Qantas looks great! I remember when it first came out I thought it was a waste of money for Qantas, but after awhile it grew on me and now I love it.

  • This aircraft looks to be VH-OEB. It is a 747-438. It is not one of the ERs. The ERs are registered VH-OEE - VH-OEJ. VH-OEB is powered by GE CF6-80C2B1F engines (the Qantas ERs are powered by GE CF6-80C2B5F engines). As of last week VH-OEB is sporting a new Formula 1 livery in support of the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix in late March of which Qantas is the primary sponsor. It also coincided with Red Bull F1 driver Mark Webber (Australian) being name as the newest Qantas Ambassador.

  • Sorry. My typo. I meant to write "VH-OEB is a standard 747-400 (a 747-48E in fact, not a 747-438, as it came to Qantas from Asiana, not new from the Boeing production line). It is not one of the ERs.........................."

  • the little plane took off real quick!!

  • @holdenls1ssz yep, she was light

  • @jjouney how did you get atc?

  • @holdenls1ssz gotta love those cessna citations.

  • @jjouney What gear do you use to shoot this ?

  • @express49 I used a Sony HD Handycam with 12x optical zoom

  • The 747-400 is plenty big enough. Anything more and you're flying in a cattle car....MOO

  • Nice vid mate!

  • awesome video bro!!10**/10**!This is our National Airline! The spirit of Australia!

  • @RIZZAEL it's 49% foreign owned.

  • @RIZZAEL YEAH..it's kinda true and sux ae bro..we wud love QANTAS 2 be solely ours ae! AUZZI AUZZI AUZZI I have been to cities that never close down, frm New York to Rome & All London Town, but no matter how far or wide I Rome, I STILL CALL AUSTRALIA HOME.

  • I flew LAX to Sydney in 1998 on a 747-400. It was a relatively warm day in late September. I've never rolled that long on a runway before. When the pilot rotated, we did not climb at a sharp rate. They want you to put down the window covers almost immediately. I remember looking out the window about 1 hour into flight and realizing that we were still at a relatively low altitude. It looks like the wings are bowing on these fully fuel laden 747s, when they take off.

  • @gtekeeper Why do they make you close the window covers?

  • @cpsuperbrain They want you to close the window covers shortly after flight for the movies they play in the cabin. This airplane did not have seats with their own individual monitors.

  • QF107/108 LAX-JFK-LAX has just been downgraded to an A330-300. Boooo!

  • beautiful paint job

  • great footage

  • why is it going to NYC?

  • @TheSaadAhmed125 qantas flies to NY via L.A 5 times a week (I think) from Sydney.

  • qantas lands there new livery 747 there wow i never new that, I thought the old livery.

  • LOL thats funny theres a little plane and then a massive 747

  • where was this footage taken?

  • Why is the pitch angle so high? I thought 10 was the maximum?

  • That is one of six 747-400ER's you will ever see in your life, the only reason you can tell the difference is in the engines, the regular 400 that Qantas uses operates the Rolls Royce RB211, but the ER's only have one two engines available on it are the GE CF6-80 and the PW 4062

  • im pretty sure those engines have the Rolls Royce logo.

  • @holdenls1ssz Who told you how to spot, those are definitely not Rolls Royce, just look up what the RB 211 looks like, then look up what the PW4062 looks like, then you will see

  • @holdenls1ssz Nah mate they're not Rolls Royce. They're General Electric :)

  • Thank you!

  • did you filmed from the hilton hotel?

  • 747 400 is getting older but looks so new and sexy

  • seems like a sunny clear day whats the weather like in wineter in LA is it still warm or does it ever get cold?

  • Is that the Kalitta Air 747 in the background that crashed in the Netherlands?

  • @SFConifer There was no Kalitta crash in the Netherlands, it was in Belgium ;) you mean the one that broke down into two pieces during takeoff?

  • is this 747 on lease? because as far as I know Qantas normally fly using Rolls-Royce as their engines on these birds; this one is using GE-CF6.

  • It's a -400ER and QF own them. RRs aren't offered on this variant as they are not quite as powerful.

  • nice the pilot sounds indian or middle eastern lol

  • @leon6266 that was definitely another aircraft..

    unless you're on drugs

  • @leon6266 he sounds nothing like them.

  • nothing is better than a qantas 747-400 take off wow such a pretty plane the best out there! =]

  • are you kidding?!? C182 all the way...VFR baby!!

  • Thanks mate, amazing quality! Well done.

    The jumbo looks stunning.

  • @GBNLE, true as.

  • what date was this footage taken??

  • @tanyapratt this was January 24, 2009

  • awesome video

  • love these videos. love the rare perspective and the view, keep them coming!
