  • Class!

  • j'adore

  • Now that is some real heavy rock!

  • From a veteran Quo fan since 1970 I can say that this is one of their very best.

  • a pure ripoff of the doors status quo is like fake rock a bunch of pussies pretending

  • @indaz1 That's why they've lasted 40 odd years!! A great live band and anyone who has been to a Quo gig in the 70's-80's will know what I'm talking about. Value for money band!!

  • @cockneysontour yeah guys like you must be used to using and listening to fake pussies lmao

  • waste of time!!!

  • A very good covered song. See how young they are. Alan is so good.

  • Who's the guy blowing the blues mouth harp ?

  • @pit2ryan3 i think Bob Young. Not sure tough.

  • @pit2ryan3 bob young..

  • I love this music

  • Stoned and Hair ,Cool !!

  • Sound as good as the original ;)

  • Can anyone help me. Around 1975, I saw on New Zealand TV Show "Gizago" 3 tracks from NZ - The Paper Plane and Dont waste my time from the Marquee 1972. I also saw the Roadhouse Blues clip from the same venue, but I have never come across it again, and I trade hevily and no-one else knows of it. It is NOT the Doin their thing clip either. I also saw in NZ around the same time a great long interview with Quo on a show called GRUNT MACHINE. They toured NZ in 76 - I was there

  • This sounds like a band of teenage boys playing at a high school dance. Sorry.

  • @babamuna66 it was a good high school dance let me tell ya !

  • I didnt know until recently that this was a cover version of a Doors song, possible thay had covered it too. I loved it as a 16 year old, 33 years ago! Still sounds good now.

  • This sure ain't no Pictures of Matchstick Men..... They still rock ur sox off!

  • Status Quo have to be one of the greatest groups in rock -- and one of the most under-appreciated by the general rock music crowd.

    barrio pobre

  • This is the business!

  • love it and love this song by quo

  • i love the doors, but this is fckin awesome! i wish the doors were still alive today.

  • your in the army now WOOO-UU-OO your in the hands upon the WHEEiiLÖL.

  • Check out Eric Sardinas - roadhouse blues.Awesome, awesome, oh yeh Awesome!

  • the best quo,

  • ok status!!!!

  • not bad, but no match against "the doors"!

  • super da war ich 15

  • You NEED to come to the US

  • Green Tele!

  • @pdawiec Still played to this day

  • From their best LP by a mile.

  • @departments2006 Although This was 2 years before they recorded it

  • Tambien me gusta esta versión que fue grabado en la misma época de los doors, lástima q status quo no haya tenido la difusión en america felicidedes tocan muy bien

  • Does anyone know when the quo is coming to play in Los angeles , california These guys good .

  • @neza2mex I love 'em too but us North American fans don't get to see them because they don't play here. I'm going to England in the summer to see them and I can't wait!

  • lest you forget.. ray manzerik played the bass line on his keyboard..no bass player in the doors..this version is pretty good nontheless

  • @bobclandecent There is a bass player on the Doors version,You idiot.

    Another uninformed youtube musical moron.

  • They all look well stoned lol, those were the days

  • the nasty sound of the tele...

  • This is the best cover of Roadhouse Blues Great Video and Great Song

  • GREAT Video !! Thanks for posting !

  • quo at their best...

  • Better than the Doors.

  • Never a Quo fan, but they sure booted the arse out of this.....cool.

  • Excellent stuff, Alan Lancaster was the always the best vocalist., sorry Francis.

  • @Meadoway40 I think Rick Parfitt took this one on after Alan lancaster left.

  • who's the singer does anyone know?

  • @1GeorgeJung That'll be Alan Lancaster - original bassist. And sans 'tache in this clip too - that shows how old it is !

  • @slowh4nd Oh thanks i thought something was a miss

  • @1GeorgeJung It is Alan Lancaster, the best Quo vocalist in my opinion. He left around 1985 and moved to Australia.

  • @Meadoway40 Thanks for info, i am not of same opinion but ive started enough arguments on this thing so ill say no more

  • @1GeorgeJung though i just looked him up and there's not alot on him but he's pretty good

  • @1GeorgeJung Francis Rossi!!!!!

  • AWESOME!!!

  • people rip it out of these but if you've ever seen them live they're a great live act, prefer this line up mind

  • I love Quo's version of this song. Rock on!

  • they would make a truly great blues band

  • 40 years ago...wow...

  • Good times ...!

  • there seconed best track

  • Parfitt must have been bored shitless playing this riff and nothing more for the whole song! Great stuff though.

  • @HomelesslyDevoted I dunno I play in an old school heavy rock band and times it great to just pick up a riff and ride it and let the flash git lead player show off while you just kick back and ride the groove with the rhythm section.

  • @HomelesslyDevoted NO! He was stoned!!

  • Shame Quo are not better known here in the USA

  • If we(Blue Bark) could be half as good as the Quo,I'd be a happy man.

  • I did not know Status Quo were like this.

  • @alric12121952

Yes man, they can do the blues too.

  • @1kilotango

All I ever knew about them was "Pictures of Matchstick Men." Which I loved, by the way. This is just way heavier than I expected. Just goes to show you how the top-40 shoehorns people into a certain image.

  • @alric12121952

    Yes, right.

Here, on this one, they're jamming a lot. Young ages you know.

But listen carefully to the rhythm guitar! It is slowly coming up to be their benchmark.

  • @alric12121952 After the flower power period 67-68, they dropped all the pop psyche stuff and developed in a damn fine heavy blues boogie band, Check out their albums 'Ma Kelly's Greasy Spoon' and 'Dog of Two Head'. In my Opinion their finest ever work

  • can't beat the doors... but this song is still siick.

  • @studgetsbeetches This is from their earlier, the doors' version doesn't rock at all, it's just a bit boring.. Try the newer quo stuff from abou 1972- this very moment.. you'll like it..

  • Comment removed

  • I've got 2 dvd's of quo and a couple of cd's. If I listen to music, it usually gets bored. This music gets only more fun!

  • Oh man. 40 freakin' years ago. I saw them several times, usually when me and my buds were up for some speaker-huggin' ear-bustin' jams. Hey, they never ever pretended to be more than they were. I listen to them to bring me back to the ground. If you've ever seen them live, their first concern was to be in the moment. Everything else was circumstantial. My gratitude to Status Quo. My ears are still ringing, and I got every penny's worth.

  • Playing this cover the same year the original song was released means a lot about The doors.

  • Status Quo le vendredi 21 mai 2010 à Hoerdt

Hippodrome de Strasbourg Hoerdt BasRhin France

  • i think the doors version is way better this one ain't got no blues status quo transformed it into a rock song

  • It will roll forever.

  • los ritmos se me hicieron mas pesados que lo de the doors aun asi es buena tammbien the doors y quo

  • To me, The Doors was boring. Jim Morrison always on drugs! I think many times:"Will he falling in sleep now, or now, or now?". Well, now he have a sleep forever.

  • Jim Morrison=LSD?? And: where are the rest of The Doors in 2010??

  • Jim Morrison=LSD?? And: where are the rest of The Doors in 2010??

  • y ta chingon los status quo sigue en el edo de mexico verga y chingon

  • Good cover.. Status always good actually..

  • the doors shit all over status quo even now they could actually play more than 3 chords

  • @67675656565655656565

Be careful guy! Quo is the best Band ever!!!!

  • @QuoForeverQuo the doors shit over status quo but one good thing is about at least you would save money on buying albums as all there stuff sounds the same.

  • @67675656565655656565 sticks and stones may break your bones but you're still retarded

  • Where is The Doors in 2010???

  • @Happies1888 people like jim morrison dont live long ages, in a way its good at least he hasnt ended up boring and old like heaps of old bands now.

  • Hey people if you like Quo then join this facebook group about the new album in 2010. It's called STATUS QUO - NEW STUDIO ALBUM - OUT AUTUMN 2010 on facebook. Look it up.

  • And: also here: Bob Young.

  • The Doors were great, but the QUO still rock!!!! the only doors we hear now are sqeaking in each and every one of our homes,QUO,OH OH OH WHOA!

  • When I used to get chills while listenintg to this song, I had no idea the voice came from such a squeeky clean and so young person. Thank God there was no MTV at the time. I imagined someone much bulkier, darker, sexier and more menacing. But that's just me. Incredible voice, hot band, regardless.

  • :-)))) Such a mature sound coming from these young studs. :-)))) I agree Now that I am in a trance, I continue to browe to my hearts content. Peace and Love to all. :-)

  • you sure it wasnt the doors version? i prefer jim. his drunken sluring , deep voice and dark personality suit better. also just the fact its jim.

  • Brilliant, I'm sure it's been asked before but there's just too many logs to go through, who's on the harmonica (star man) and the piano. The Quo at their best.

  • @MACHAWK123 Bob Young is on harmonica and Roy Lynes is the keyboardist.

  • woow!

    i've never seen this video

actually, Roadhouse Blues by The Doors was new at that time!!!!

form the Morrison Hotel album of 1970

    haha!

  • status quo + live (1976) one of the 10 best live records ever recorded. period

  • Ditto. And Amen to that. Thin Lizzy's Live And Dangerous is among the top 10 too.

  • quite authentic singing

  • people say what they may. quo are the hardest working band ever.

  • agree

  • I not very popular in the USA!

  • @wellsrams Like I give a fuck!

  • Quo are still going. Where the fuck are The Doors?

  • what Quo tunes did The Doors ever think worthy of covering ? lol

  • Haha, at the very end the camera angle makes it look like the drummer is wearing one of the drums :)

  • Let it Roll..forever..Quo Rock!

  • Ich habe ja schon einige Kommentare hier abgegeben. Aber noch keinen zu meiner Lieblingsband. Und das ist Status Quo. Ich mag alle ihre Lieder, sie sind die Besten!

  • Vintage QUO or modern QUO, Still the best!

  • Status Quo 2010 Live in Arbon ( Switzerland)

  • Complete and utter shite!!! Usually Jim had to be located prior to a gig as he was usually off his head under a table in some boozer! Lets face it...he was an arse!!

  • Sweet!

One of the first rock tunes I ever jammed on - because of Quo, not the Doors! - with my band when we started out aged 12 or 13 and had just discovered the magic of bar chords.

    ;-)

  • saw them in the Memorial hall in Barry Island of Gavin and Stacey fame with about 30 people in the audience. Went on to see them another 5 times, great live band. Thank you for this. Great stuff.

  • Nothing wrong with doin a cover....dont think you can compare Quo and The Doors anyway, mind you, Quo still give you 2 hours on stage, you were lucky to get 45 minutes out of the The Doors! (If Jim turned up that is!)

  • why are quo being compared to the doors? cos they sang 1 song the same. you can't compare them, quo are a way better band. doors were too "arty farty" and i can count their really good songs on one hand, while i'd need a big fucking bucket to carry all Quo's great songs.

  • WTFF? Translating...What the fucking fuck? My first reaction to that comment was...AHAHHHAHUAHHAHAHHAH AHHAUAUAH.......OO....AHHAHAHUUAHAHAH

  • well seeing as i got a +3 next to my comment i guess people agree with me, i listened to a lot of both bands music and stand by what i said. doors might be great musicians but their talent was wasted making over -blown music, if you think otherwise it's your personal opinion, just as i have an opinion. i dont need to swear to put my opinion across either

  • well...seeing as i read your comment and I desagree completely and I did not gave you a negative value...many other people did (didn't) the same thing..if you know what i mean...beacuase you're talking mamba jamba..it's not a metter of opinion..its a metter of The Doors.

  • when you are older you will learn more about music and not be swayed by bands that it is trendy for young men to like. Quo never were trendy, quite the opposite in fact, but still got millions of fans. anyway, we all have our own opinions, so it's pretty useless discussing it at all

  • I never knew Ron Weasley was in "the quo"!

  • Incredible ! Status Quo PILEDRIVER boy did we party to that one !!!!!

  • Love winding up the Yanks with our superior Quo!

  • Sorry jussteless but GET OUT , high school musical my arse!!

  • They aren't tryin' to compete with the Doors or anyone else. Pick up an instrument and jam. That's all Status Quo was ever concerned about. Just get a few of your buddies at the house and turn up the volume. Try it. See what it sounds like. If it sounds good -- it is.

  • quo the best

  • It was a tribute, made with S.Q. sound, I refuse your comparison,in this way you can highlight R . Krieger' solo in "Riders on the Storm" as an imitation of Hank Marvin style. Helas the Doors in live performances ever lacked a solid bass & rhytm guitar ...

  • Fair enough, I still like the Doors' version better, that's all. By the way, I like SQ in general.

  • actually the doors never needed a rythm guitar and surely their keyboard basss ound is something special but still great.

  • Comment removed

  • better then the quo now with a bass player looks like monkey stupid head rolling

  • ..and plays like a demented chicken. He used to be the bassist for Dexi's Midnight Runner's. Alan Lancaster was the original bass player, and for me Quo have never been the same since!

  • Comment removed

  • Wat is het geluid van alle SQvideo´s SLECHT. Is er dan nergens eentje met goed geluid?!?!

  • Well, good cover, but the guitar man is not in the League of Robbie when it goes to the solo and the singer for sure isn't James Morrison.

  • this was early 70's, The guitarman aka Francis Rossi had little confidence which effected his guitar playing, he has improved a lot now and his confidence is excellent, They chose alan to sing because it suited his voice more. but since releasing this, songs like Roll Over Lay Down, Don't Waste My Time (as 2 examples) show off Rossi's playing, but he's always improving, he's always got new ideas.

  • I agree!

  • Quo, the greatest rock n roll band ever. My 1st proper gig, Lewisham Odeon winter 75 or 76, absolutely nuts, the whole of the downstairs seating got trashed into match wood and I coudn't hear for 4 days, just a whistling in the ears. Have never experienced anything like it since, absolute bedlum. Like most decent venues, its now gone and been turned into a Matalans or something. Long live the Quo

  • HA ha...... I saw Quo in 1978 at Lewisham Odeon. Also saw Black Sabbath at the same venue and same year with Van Halen supporting!! Also saw Thin Lizzy at the venue, same year too.Good times eh?

  • i'm jealous. i wish i had lived in those times.

  • I suppose musically the seventies really did rock with bands such as Quo, Thin Lizzy, Led Zep and Deep Purple at their peak.

The seventies also had a variety of musical tastes that had never been bettered.

It really was, from a musical sense, the best decade ever.

  • I do agree with you. i'm only 17 but I love old rock and roll and all of those bands. i'm pretty sure that no one of my friends don't know as much about old music as I do. I would give anyone everything just to be born in 70s.

sorry for my english it can be not so good

  • I was actually born in 1960 but it's good to see someone so young appreciating this type of music. Your English is fine.

  • Don't worry, man. I'm also 17 and I love this music just like you. You are not alone, we are the new generation,

  • Lancaster superb, Quo never the same when he left.

  • Went to see quo at Liverpool Empire in the early 70s and I would defy any person in the world to not have played an imaginary guitar and shook their heads at that concert.Just what life is all about.

  • Wow, who is that young guy with the green telecaster? .. and all that HAIR!

  • His name is Francis Rossi

  • I know, I was taking the piss!. I agree with you - a great musical era. Saw them for the first time in Cardiff `79. Also saw Led Zep the same year as well as Motorhead, Hawkwind, Sabbath. Even got to see a very young Def Leppard in Cardiff uni, but there were only about 10 people there! Met Rossi after the Birmingham NEC gig (82).. much more hair back then!

  • mycal64.Yep you must be taking the piss. You say your age is 29 so you weren't even born in 1979.

  • When did I say I was 29?? I was born in 1964 (hence my name mycal64). Saw Led Zep Aug 11th Knebworth aged 15.

  • mycal64. Well maybe you should try putting your correct age on your profile. Duh.

  • Maybe you should try trusting what you read. A Youtube profile is hardly classified information.

  • What are you talking about? I did trust what your profile said and it says you're 29 !! Numpty.

  • "Numpty"?? Are you an Anglican vicar? ;) I mean you should trust what was written in the comments over what is said in the profile. To be honest with you, I have no idea what I wrote in the profile as I don`t like giving personal info over the internet.

  • at 4:00 I felt like grabbing the micro and do it myself...

  • really constructive criticism like a lot of other crap on here..

  • moron

  • Excellent song got this by Quo and The Doors hope Quo bosh this back into the live set this year coz its a rucking focker

  • lasciatela fare ai Doors che è meglio!!!

  • I have a microphone like that !!!
