Prurient RULES, end of story! Thanks for posting this man! I ( The Earwigs ) played a show with Dom back in 2004 and he is one of the coolest, nicest people i've ever met! Great sense of humor too! He kept asking if i wanna gonna do any of my old total shit/noise stuff! I didn't - ha!ha! His set was really short and awesome too say the least! All the best form outerspace .

These people will never get it, and I think it's an inherent part of someones character to 'get' stuff like Prurient; some people don't understand it, and those people go on to produce for Mariah Carey or some shit.

I've seen this live and really it just comes across as a bunch of people who wish they could play instruments but refuse to take the time to learn how. I appreciate your opinion myself. it's hard to justify noise as a genre because all of them have vastly different philosophies concerning it. The reason i appreciate and downright enjoy prurient, even more then other noisicians, because he is in fact conveying something. If music is the expression of emotion that words can't express, prurient's harsh noise is the expression of the stressed, bottled up, negative emotions that are in a clusterfuck in the psyche. If I was a Timberlake fan I wouldn't be here in the first place. The reason I searched for Prurient is because he is involved with Cold Cave, who I actually quite like. He does add unnecessary noise to the music however which often ruins it. I also find it quite funny that you believe you can 'read me like a book' because of some of these 'proper musicians' at your college. I would never class myself as a 'Proper musician' because I can hardly play a note. You need more time at college mate.

Iplayed a show with Prurient back in '04 here in Spokane and before i met dom, i thought he was gonna be a snobby prententious noise asshole . The guy was/is very cool, funny and friendly! I had a great time hanging out with him and enjoyed his short incredibly loud set! I've been doing my band, The Earwigs for 18+ years and do it because i love too create loud alienoise destruction musick . Many people do not understand 'noise' but that's cool with me! All the best! i can understand how the histrionics could throw people off, but prurient's shows are really like a full body experience. he uses the whole of his physical and emotional self to corrugate the sounds into a dense monolith of noise (even if the premanipulated source emenates just from the mouth). he seems to manifest this by a kind of staged anger, like the two minutes hate in orwell. his exit is no joke though. dom's a nice guy in real life, but his post-performance self is unpleasant
