Also, pilots carried guns at one time.

I like the idea of overwhelming firepower. When they outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns. We see this in Mexico where people are being shot every day in the face of stringent gun control laws. I do miss this show while All of the people were over the top it did point out truth and made us laugh.

To be concerned at Criminals with firearms I understand but other countries have managed to rid their soil of weapons, Just make it illegal to possess any firearm besides bolt action rifles for farmers and hunters and handguns for security guards or gun clubs that are held under lock and key at firing ranges. @westeh you forget that there is already a huge drug smuggling network in process, they will add guns to their inventory, and then you will see that only criminals have guns and you will have no way to protect yourself. drugs have been illegal for many decades now yet they still come across the border in large magnitudes, dont even think that guns will not.

@alanyoung2 The US military bails other countries out and yes has solved many conflicts I agree 100% ... but the average civilian does not need a semi automatic pistol or a full auto rifle. @alanyoung2 Do ya think??? WW1 the americans tried desperately to remain neutral till the last year of the war. In WW2 they waited till other countries were fighting for about 3 years before deciding to help. In the american revisionist history, that might be what you have been taught, but an actual look at the facts, shows the US to be no more help than any other comparable country.
As far as never being invaded. Simply because of geography, and no strategic value. nothing else.

@quedorf The U.S. helped in WW2 before it even started waging war. It's called supplies, without supplies the British in their little bunkers would have starved to death, the British without the U.S. wouldn't have been able to survive, as simple as that. Russia had two things and two things only to fight WW2 and it is populace and casualties.
The reason never being invaded is one geography, and two the gun owning populace.
