This was definitely NOT Big Valley, there was no horse statue, huge buildings, trees or people in red robes on the stage when it collapsed. I was there and also there was no achievement bvanner on the stage. You can see a podium as well, that wasn't in Camrose. Disgusting that someone would post this FAKE video and try to take credit for something that actually happened and affected so many people. Shame on you...you deserve all the backlash you're getting. calculate the pressure on the total area developed by a force of even a moderate wind and you will see that all those upright beams could never hold. you'd require huge diameter guy wires at approx 60 degree angles with buried cement blocks to secure them.
this is not alberta. but look at the idiocy behind this. i can assure you that no engineer set this stage up. this was built by roadies and wannabee goofs who dropped out of high school and advanced from roadies to sound guys to stage builders. gov't should make it law that stages are approved by safety engineers and not woodstock escapees. the whole stage is a giant sail! like a sail boat.
This stage was in fact ENGINEERED. why would you say that it wasn't when you have no proof whatsoever. This is a common construction for stages. The fact is there policy is that when severe storms approach they remove some of the panels and banners to allow proper wind flow through the structure. The actual storm was still 20KM away when the gust front hit. They had in fact started removing some of the banners but they were not properly warned of the impending storm.
and this "Law" you refer to..... IT DOES EXIST. Any structure must and is built up to engineering codes. In order for any event to be allowed, appropriate government agencies must give their approval. Insurance must be purchased. All these steps ensure that buildings are up to code and SAFE. This structure was safe, it was a freak storm that caused the tragedy. Sheesh, people always need to find a scapegoat for any incedent. Is there no such thing as accidents anymore?

I can confirm for you this isn't the Big Valley Jamboree stage. I was there. The stage is much bigger, people sit on chairs, not on the ground, and there are no trees or large buildings around the stage as it is held at the Camrose Regional Exhibition grounds which is basically a big field with some fencing and some sheet metal buildings. Change the title for sure.
I never caused the collapse, but someone should be charged for negligence that caused all the injury and death. From what I hear, alcohol was a factor.

I grew up there. There is an open field behind the BVJ stage that is used for camping. Not a huge city apartment. That part of Camrose is not zoned for residential. Nice try, you scam artist.

I know since that day Ive gone throw a lot of emotional impact and physical pain to have witnessed the stage collapsing and being the middle of the storm. You mention in your update that you will remove the video if one of the victims or their families asks. Well, I'm asking (politely). I was at BVJ. I lived through the nightmare. I watched several of my friends and colleagues risk their lives and almost lose them. It is something that continues to haunt me and will for a long time to come. Therefore, out of respect for those of us who were there, please retitle this video. I find it disrespectful and offensive. Thank you for reading this post.

I do agree that you have the right to express yourself in any that you want too. But the issue here is that what happened at BVJ this year is still very fresh in the minds of people. Over and above that it is you title that is pissing people off...why not just say where that clip is from? why do you have to say that it is at BVJ? Especially since it wasn't. The family is not about to watch this video and relive it.Just clarify where the clip is REALLY from.

this is an older video. I go to school for concert productions and this video was in our "this can happen" lecture. the camrose festival also was not in a city, thus meaning there shouldnt be any apartments behind the stage.

i was working at big valley when it happened. i was in the kitchen tent next to the stage, which became a triage unit when we evacuated to a secure building. that is the stage in camrose, alberta, canada. an all you idiots who think this is entertaining need to grow up. someone lost their life, and others hang in the balance as i am typing this. show some humanity and a little respect you stupid imbeciles.

I can confirm for you this isn't the Big Valley Jamboree stage. I was there. The stage is much bigger, people sit on chairs, not on the ground, and there are no trees or large buildings around the stage as it is held at the Camrose Regional Exhibition grounds which is basically a big field with some fencing and some sheet metal buildings. Change the title for sure.

The BVJ stage was more square and had a red banner for a hardware store (I believe it was a hardware store) above it. I know for a fact it had a huge red banner above it though. This video needs to have the name changed. The poster "believes" it is real but they "believe" wrong.
