my first tomb raider was 3, the demo. i was like 7 at the time and didn't get the odd keyboard controls at all. barely got her on the slide, and of course she got impaled 99 out of 100 times. when i somehow made it, she would die on the next occasion. felt so sorry for her.

@pivan23 Graphics aren't everything. They were decent for the late 90s and the classic gameplay of the first three Tomb Raider titles still outstrips anything from the over-simplified and bland experiences offered by the latest generation of Tomb Raider games.

@csonicp I know that graphics ain't every thing I use to play ragnarok online for 7 years, it's just I never loved the old lara croft because of the difficult movement, I guess I started at the modern Lara Croft and I even started playing tekken 5 and hated old tekken

@pivan23 That's fair enough if you started with the newer games. It's just that I can never quite understand it when people complain about the controls in the original games because even though they take a while to learn, they are in fact very logical when you consider the block-like architecture of each level. Tomb Raider II is still the pinnacle of the series for me - the latest games are just too straightforward and forgiving, at least for someone who started out with the original trilogy.
