@shess0501 I kind of feel the same way about limiting the internet to people who have the actual ability to use common sense and intelligence--which would have you sitting on the old' world wide web sidelines, eh? You're just another asshat ground-pounder that couldn't hack ppl training, so now you're pissed off and think that nobody should be able to fly or own an airplane. So tell you what: Kiss my aircraft-owning, high-flying ass.
Shess0501 You have got to be one of the worst informed, twisted, paranoid, dare I say racist people I have ever seen comment about anything anywhere. Giving you anymore thought would be a waste of my time. Just know it's shit heads like you, who think everything is about terrorists and "public saftey" that make it so difficult, if not impossible, to do things in this world. Fuck you and everyone like you.
So just because the "survivability isn't as good" means we should stop flying...gee, why don't we stop riding motorcycles while we're at it? Pretty sure the survivability in a motorcycle crash is worse than a car, too. Yeah, can't survive a crash, we're going to limit motorcycle use to the police.
The tragedy in Houston was a VERY isolated case of sheer stupidity on that guy's part. It has nothing to to with the fact people can own airplanes. Get your facts straight doushebag!
Shess. Not sure whether you really believe this or if you're trying to start a discussion here. I hope the latter as the former is really uninformed. You are far safer in an aircraft than driving to work. If you drove 5 miles to your local airport, flew from the West coast to the East AND back, then drove home, you'd be at higher risk from those 10 miles in your car than for the whole 2 way flight....and that's from Government statistics. And there are more crazies on the road than in the sky.
cnnw3929: Eh.... I don't know how things work where you live, but here most airports have an observation deck and the public is welcome to come watch so long as they don't interfere with airport operations and are respectful of what is going on around them.
Things have definitely changed after 9/11 but the ones saying plane-spotting is dead are exaggerating a bit too much.
once upon a time in this country, before being ruled to death by do gooders. one could sit at any airport and watch planes all day take off and land..now one sits in front of a pc. for the love of aviation go out to your local GA airport and watch whats left to a once great past time that dies a little every day. cause the do gooders will take away our freedom. one slap on the ass at a time. and then we wonder where did the good ol days go?
NO one will actually arrest him. Maybe if it was an international airport like Boston/logan intl, but this looks like a simple small strip operated by unicom procedures. Trust me, cops have better things to do.
@drmrboy29 Actually, you have a valid point, drmrboy29. Since the comment I made last year, a lot of my thoughts were on how things have changed since 9/11. But recently, I have found that the general aviation community and small airports are surprisingly accepting of most people who are interested in their planes and want to take photos and videos. If you get to know some of the people there, you could probably even get videos inside the fence, and some good close-up shots.
berndl: Shooting videos of planes taking off carries the risk of being arrested and charged with trespassing. He is lucky to get what we see here on YouTube. I give five stars for his courage, and hope he doesn't get reported by the pilots.
@cnnw3929 Huh? What country are you in? There is nothing illegal about shooting videos of airplanes - Even from inside the fence, if it's not an airline airport. (That's not illegal either, provided you have proper access credentials.) It might freak someone out, and they might call the cops, but the worst you'll get is a conversation.
Mmm the barons sexier sister. And jjjazzycraig, its faster than the baron, it just never received the R&D and continued production of most of its contempories!
So close, it's not the sister of the baron or the king air, it's more like the slightly flabby mother of the queen air, or the elderly aunt of the King Air!
The Duke is a direct descendant of the Baron, BE95, and Bonanza. The wings and gear are identical except detail changes and the TIO-541s in the Duke were also installed on the Baron 56TC.
The King Air, Queen Air, Merlin, and Metro all descend from the Twin Bonanza; which has nothing in common with the Bonanza except the name...
Cool details, thanks. You are definitely more corredt on the technical story. But from a marketing, performance, pilot/passenger experience, cost of purchase and ownership, and high-level flight ops, the Duke is much more an ancestor of the QueenAir, than a descendant of the Baron.
Which is all weird, because the Queen is older than the Duke.
Whoever you two idiots are that voted me two thumbs down, I wasn't putting the Duke down morons - I love the Duke. It's just that design-wise, it's a lot closer to the Queen Air than a Baron as far as mission, marketing, and cost.
Well, to be more accurate, the hotter young sister that sleeps around with a ton of guys cause she is useless at everything else and that you would never want to marry. The Duke is nice to look at, not nice to own.
@HDaviator. . That's why they make Cessna 172's, so pussys like you have a chance to fly. It's a good thing you don't fly a Duke- It makes it safer for the rest of us.
@HDaviator Yes, I do. I have issues with people spouting off with rhetoric and no substance. Please tell us that you will only fly commercial from now on.
@VirenKickedPresAss wtf is with people in aviation abusing people lower then them!! wat because u fly a Baron but i fly a 152 for fuck sacks flying is flying we all love it so go get fucked
@gilflite12 What a dumbass. If you would take the time to read the PREVIOUS posts, you would have learned what we were talking about, DUMBASS. PS. Please redo your third grade grammar and spelling class.
@HDaviator And you would know this by way of firsthand experience? Dukes are high maintenance in the hands of unprepared owners. For owners that know how to maintain the plane and how to fly it, she's a helluva bird. Stick to your old issues of Flying magazine and flight simulators rather than trying to regurgitate what you hear while you're out sweeping hangars in exchange for a discovery flight ride.
duke is a badd ass plain. i wants one. fuck yeha someday after i sell enogh weed. that's my ride.
