  • A starch based diet is not full of nutrients. Seeds, nuts, beans, greens are superior to pasta, rice, wheat, potatoes.

  • I wonder how he feels about nomadic Mongolian people whose diet is almost completely comprised of meat and dairy...they don't get heart disease and cancer at the rates we do either. Processed, industrial food, pesticides, sugar and sedentary life is 90% of the problem.

  • THANKS

  • I just have to say that things aren't so simple. I know vegans who look like "the kings" according to this. People come in different sizes no matter what their diet is. (eating junk makes it worse, though.) I'm a vegan myself and I'm not thin and gorgeous looking or anything. :D

  • Of course this is common sense, but to blame obesity on saturated fat and meat is a mistake. Everyone is fat now not because of bacon, eggs, and meat etc, but rather because of potato chips, cookies, cakes, soft drinks (massive quantities), etc.

  • @BachScholar I know you probably don't want to accept this, but for the past 40 years, obesity in the U.S. has increased in relation high meat consumption. People ARE fat becasue of processed foods like bacon, meat, potato chips, cookies, soft drinks, etc. Forget moderation. What you put in your body, affects you physical and mental health. Do your own research, and you'll be astonished by what you find out about factory farming and processed foods.

  • @SandCmpbll You are making a statistical error. Grouping bacon and meat with cookies, soft drinks, and junk food is the biggest error the low fat people make. I eat bacon, eggs, and real butter almost daily and I am not obese. Just take a look at my most recent video at the piano on my channel (Liszt Transcendental Etude). Since the one thing I do not consume is diet soda, this overwhelmingly suggests IT is the cause of obesity, and not bacon and eggs.

  • @SandCmpbll (continued)....Over the past 40 years the increase of meat consumption in the U.S. has paled in comparison to the increase in diet soda consumption. In fact, meat consumption has hardly gone up at all. Why is it that I eat more saturated fat than all the overweight people I know, yet they all seem to be addicted to diet soda? I know someone who lost over 100 pounds from simply quitting diet soda.

  • @SandCmpbll (continued, part 3)...Sorry for driving this into the ground, but I need to make my point. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to conclude that the main cause of obesity over the last 40 years has been......(you will never believe this).....(oh Dr. McDougall if you just put two and two together).....the main cause of obesity is not meat and eggs, but in this order......

    1. DIET SODA

    2. SNACK FOODS

  • @BachScholar I do not drink diet soda or snack foods, and yet I was overweight. I cut dairy and meat from my diet and now eat a plant based diet and am no longer overweight. Given that many of the calories from cheese, beef, pork and milk comes from fat, it's no surprise that people who lots of cheese are overweight. I'm sure there are people who eat meat and dairy who aren't fat; I guess they don't eat a lot of the stuff. What about high cholesterol?

  • eat shit food is bad.....do we really need a doctor to tell us....probley not even a real doctor.

  • mOOds999....I always remember what my mother told us, "People who can not think of something intelligent to say use profanity". Why the profanity? All you did was show all of us who you are.
