Bowie did a lot of ordinary songs. He also did a lot of good songs. But every now and again he produced a piece of brilliance which set him apart from the rest and which earned to him the right to be called one of the 20th century's great performers and artists. This is one of those moments. Awesome.
Never heard this song before, And suddenly when a Five year friendship with myself and my friend comes 2 and end because shes moving away forever, I find this song. And realize, that i wanted 2 make her realize how i felt for her. But never noticed. Oh well :P
This song felt prophetic when it came out. With oil rig disasters, tsunamis, and nuclear meltdowns, it feels all the more so now. Five years... if we're lucky.
One day, I want to be in a position where Bowie personally invites me to a birthday and I can call the Venture Bros. creators who want him for their show.
I can meet many a hero that day and get some real Bowie in the Venture Bros.
bloody amazing! he really is amazing! So simple yet so captivating! I believe this song was inspired from a dream? Now thats a true artist that can translate his dreams & imagery across like that to people like me & you! :) xxx
This song was stuck in my head all day and I almost broke down crying in public imagining the situation this song describes. I fucking love David Bowie.
The whole song is magic but that line "It was cold and it rained so I felt like an actor", I find myself singing that when bumming around and it's even slightly dark/rainy/cloudy.
A brown-nosing flatfoot...who would have 'thunk it?'...Bowie that's who!!! That line just gets me every time!! Blestemp, you have outdone yourself here...this audio is amazing...THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
I can not believe all these great tracks are in one album. I am in awe, Mr Bowie.

ok youtube when I type the letter D this should happen. It should say David Bowie and that should be the only option with the letter D on it's own.

I think I saw you in an ice-cream parlour, drinking milk shakes cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine, dont think
You knew you were in this song
And it was cold and it rained so I felt like an actor
And I thought of ma and I wanted to get back there
Your face, your race, the way that you talk
I kiss you, youre beautiful, I want you to walk. We Got FIVE years!
