Clearly I'll be buying the Diablo sequel that is made by the Diablo team that has Diablo music, not whatever Blizzard is making. Matt Uelmen's music has been the staple of Diablo experience for me, and Blizzard not having him do the score for D3 pretty much ended my enthusiasm then and there.
wow I'm in love with this composer and this game haha. omg <3 <3 <3 I just hope people who make videos games like this and composers like this will live on after they retire.
In my opinion, Matt is one of the few video game composers, who wants to invent a new kind of music, something with which you sink into a new kind of atmosphere. His style is of course really unique and I have never heard something like this in any game or movie before and that is why it makes Diablo and Torchlight so special.
I really hope he didn't lose his mojo and makes Torchlight II a musical delight.
For me, Torchlight II is my Diablo III with a fresher setting (Steampunk meets magic).
Well, I'll say it.. One of the 1st things that I said to myself, taking those first steps in Torchlight 1 is: "This is sooo Diablo! Even the music sounds like Tristram!".. :P!! Matt is the imaginary 7th string on what I feel is a true acoustic composition..
Can't help but think of diablo 2 when i listen to this, good stuff. Matt Uelmen has the perfect sound for the action rpg genre, deep and emotional. Hope to hear more song's from him in the future.
@meganecro There was a rumor he was recording the music in Prague. They started the developement of Diablo 3 in 2001 and Uelmen left Blizzard somewhere around 2007-2008. So he had years to make the music. But who knows how much they will use i?
before blizzard north was dissolved by Blizzard, Diablo 3 looked, played entirely differently and contained different setting and plot(set right after D2:LOD ending, you take control of a character and get to travel to Heavens, that now lay wasted in ruins) than current D3. And yes M.uelman made music for that one.
However none of that is used. Blizzard, after WoW success, believes that such game would have been non-profitable, thus new direction of Diablocraft3
@FeuerFremder I notice you come to every Torchlight 2 video spamming your trite Diablocraft dribble. You mad bro? Where do you get this garbage from? Can you explain what Blizzard did to make you so butthurt? I'm slightly worried you're trying to drive a bunch of people towards Torchlight 2, the sequel of an extremely generic, boring game. I literally fell asleep playing Torchlight one night before beating it. Then again, maybe D3 would be better without you. Let people make their own decisions.
HELL YES, I'm pumped for the release of this game. I love that you worked in subtle allusions to the first game's soundtrack but still made this one so original. Well done, Runic and especially Matt Uelmen.
Matt is one if those composers that when you hear his music you instantly know its him, like the best bands of all time there is something about the sound that makes it unlike anything else out there. Hearing this on my phone even with poor sound quality and the highway in the background made my eyes water a bit. There is NOT a better videogame composer out there imho.
Mmmm! I remember those chills running down my back from June 2000!

That's very interesting. Didn't know he recorded some for D3. If it's true then that's amazing. Did you read it somewhere?
