  • I actually got this game to work on xp and it seems it did the trick when I chnaged the file symqit.dll to.old and the game actually worked and also are you going to do teh tabloid episoe for 5th dementian I think there is a question on a dis or dat about Big foot and Sean penn.

  • what baout doing thisS

Go to the C:\\ Drive and open up the Sierra Folder

    Then Open the YDKJ5D Folder.

    Then The Folder Marked "jre"

    Then the folder "bin"

You will see the symcjit.dll file at the bottom, rename THE EXTENTION from .dll to .old

Then your 5th Dementia Game will work on XP.

  • @Animedatabase24 I just reinstalled this game on a new laptop and couldn't remember what file it was, and after a lot of fruitless googling, I thought "maybe the answer is in an old comment in one of my videos!' and sure enough, here it is. Thanks again, person from nine months ago!

  • I've been having problems trying to get 5th Dementia to work on Vista i tried Compatablity Mode as listed with no luck.

Anyone get any tips on how they got it to work?

  • @skykid3000 sorry dude, I've only ever gotten it working on XP

  • You don't happen to know how to get this to run under Win2000, do you? D=

  • Honestly, no.

    Try emailing Jellyvision.

    Sorry!

  • Hm, no problem at all, really. ^^;

But, I had an idea after lookin' through some files and suspect my copy is somehow damage. (that's what I get for buying used discs, I suppose...) So, I was wondering if you still had the game on yer hard-drive... if so, that'd help, 'cuz you could, in theory, send me two certain files of which I suspect they are damaged... see? :3

  • I gotta remember how to fix this game for XP. Do you remember?

  • You have to change the filetype of a certain file somewhere, I forget the specifics.

Try emailing Jellyvision; that's what I did.

  • You have to right-click the game's icon, click the "compatibility" tab and check "run in compatibility mode". On the drop-down list next to it, choose "Windows 95" if it's not already selected. That's how I got volume 2 to work on windows Vista.
