Great shot of the Geep. Wish they would repaint her in the Zephyr orange and black though like 918. BTW she no longer has the M5 she now has the Nathan P3 off the SP 1423....
Nice Burnett M-5. I like how he started out easy on the first two longs and worked up to all five chimes on the last long. That's why I like Graham White valves over those dumb push buttons on newer locomotives and cab cars.
I definatlly agree with you on that aspect thats why I ordered a grahm white valve for my train horn I am mounting on my truck in the correct spot on the roof
lucky you got to see the F7 in operation I haven't seen her run yet I'v always just seen the geep and the NW2, the center cabs or one of the steamers(can't complain about that gotta love those tank engines!)

They should connect them at both ends, in case the UP track gets covered in landslide again, they could still run the ACE on the private line.

Does that private line through Niles canyon connect anywhere to the UP line through there?
Tremolux59 10 months ago
@Tremolux59: It does, on the north/east end at Hearst.

The GP7 has a Nathan M5. The M5 was WP's standard horn.

NO a M5 is higher pichted.
five0fan 3 years ago
Sometimes, it depends on how it is tuned, and also, the engineer didn't give it a full blast from the horn valve.
