  • season 3 was from 1987-1988

  • The good old days!!!

  • Nicole Eggert <3 My first celebrity crush...

  • Willie Aames was great as Buddy in this show. I miss scripted TV shows. Reality shows suck.

  • Who remebers this from Nick At Nite years ago......?

  • @waffaletoaster

I remember this when it was a new show.

  • sounds like charles was a bit of a fascist

  • season 4 was actually from 1988-89.

  • At 00:22,what episode is that, where Charles is in a dress?

  • Hey! Quiet down up there! Ya whacky Beatle!

  • little nerdy Josie Davis grew up to be hotter than all their asses!!

  • @miggidymark

you're darn right she did! Saw her on episodes of CSI Miami and CSI NY and she was looking gorgeous even more than Nicole who became a Baywatch girl. If you're looking prettier than a Baywatch girl that's gotta say something!

  • @miggidymark She was cute anyways but yeah she blossomed

  • 0:01 - I always wanted to know HOW that was the outside of the Powell's house. It looks NOTHING like it. It always bugged me! looks like an apartment building!

  • T.V. Land should honestly make a show about Buddy and Charles 15 or so yrs later. Livivng in an appartment complex and hillarious-ness insues.

  • gwendalin pears gwendalin pears!!! : D

  • I remember being 8 or 9 years old watching this show and wishing I had a big brother like Charles in Charge, ahhhhhhhh the good old days

  • Becasue of family guy when ever i here this song i think of george Harrison getting repetadly stab while a fat secuirty guard sing the song

  • @KingDT2007 LMAO! xD

  • I'm 40 years old here in 2011 (soon to be 41)and glad that I got to experience the 70's and 80's. The young kids today, unfortunately for them, will never get to experience life without constant access. They'll never experience life without the Internet, cell phones, i-pods and whatever future technology comes up. Ah, the good old days when things were simpler and there was actually some distance in life. Gone and will never come back.

  • @raydeen1 I am 28 and I have got to experience those days, maybe not to the extent as you, but they were there. When I was in highschool, beepers were the "cool" thing, no one had cell phones yet. And in my early 20s everyone had the cell phones with the green screens, no smartphones or internet access. When I was in HS we used to use those old Apple computers with the green screens also. I remember when Cable didn't have a display menu telling you what show you're watching.

  • the haircuts and clothing back then were just.... so 1337!

  • @jandorus You mean 1987, right? ;-)

  • it was a cute show but kinda weird young girls hot guy taking charge hmmm i grew up luvin it tho still do ♥

  • I had the BIGGEST crush on Nicole Eggert when this show was on.

  • I was born in 89 so I never saw this show but I do remember hearing this theme song as a kid on TV once and I loved it.

  • who sings the theme song

  • @merlin186 her name is Shandi Sinnamon...

  • I want Charles in Charge of me. no homo.

  • nicole eggert, i would totally date her.

  • I WONDER WHAT THE BUDGET WAS ON SWEATERS ? LOL I LOVE THIS SONG !

  • @COLTSINGLEACTION 200 grand according to quagmire

  • How many A's does Willie Aames need?!

  • @lilmike498 uuuh two aparently

  • Charles will always be in charge.

  • I always wanted Charles in Charge of me in so many differnt ways.

  • i have a headache after hearing this song..

  • the 'charles in charge' kitchen looks like the 'growing pains' kitchen.

  • I wanted Nicole Eggert so bad back then. So hotttt <3

  • @chrisrko1982 Yeah me too on that....but..have you seen Josie Davis lately? Good lord talk about growing up too look HOT!

  • doesnt have to be a large family

  • Nowadays, you'd never see a one-minute theme song. Anything more than 15 seconds cuts into precious commercial time, when that annoying bitch Flo will tell you to buy Progressive insurance for the 3,723rd time.

When I am Emperor of These United States, we shall hold gladiatorial games in which television producers are pitted against lions with nothing more than small swords to defend themselves.

The crowd will eat grapes and burst into rapturous applause when the lions eat the TV execs.

  • @GozerTheGozerian theyd prolly put that on tv too. itd be the newest reality show.

  • Loved Charles 's mom.

  • What's up with 80's sitcoms always showing clips with characters mouthing stuff during the intros? What is that called? You don't see a lot of shows doing that these days. In fact, shows today have pretty short intros.

  • Charles can be in charge of me any day! ;)

  • awesome show!!

  • Nilla wafers time!!! I used to eat nilla wafers whenever this show aired. haha good times

  • I swear, . . I think 78 to 90 was the glory days of television.

  • Scott Baio is hot and sexy!!!!! He was my very first crush!! =)

  • Whats the episode where they're dancing at the diner.

  • I'm confused. Did or did not Shandi Sinnamon sing this version of the theme song?

  • Correction: this was used for the 1988-1989 season.

  • where is season 3 opening

  • Dude... this and Mr. Belvedere. Winning theme songs.

  • best theme song ever =]] xD

  • this is the gayest thing ever it is even gayer then a gay person

  • I use to love Charles in Charge. The 80's were the best. I remember that I had a huge crush on Nicole Eggert. Back then she was like a goddess to me. "Unbelievable Hot"

  • @Lyrikk09 Do a search on a movie called "Blown Away " that she was in around the early 90's. It will make you happy. Trust me.

  • @Motorcyclephil Corey Haim made ME happy in that one!!!! ;-)

  • what is the episode where Charles opens the door wearing a showgirl outfit? It's hot pink and orange and you can see all of his leg. what is the name of the episode?

    its at :21

  • Nicole Eggert my god so hot!~

  • Relient K FTW

  • what kind of show is this

  • @FixMeThin7 There was plenty of good stuff on TV in the 90's too

  • @ :35-:39 looks like John Travolta in drag

  • hahaha but no thats John's sister Ellen... she plays Charles' Mom!!

  • hahhaa thats his older sister Ellen ... pretty crazy family likeness...but I always thought she reminded of Lily Tomlin lol

  • Buddy made the show funny.

Sad to see him have hard times

  • I was born in 1978 & I never missed this show when it was on but I gotta admit I kinda missed the characters of Jason & Dougless when they changed the cast.

    Those two were pretty funny.

  • i was born in 84 and holy fuck...watching this theme song takes me backkkkk when i was in kindergarden... and living in the old apartment with my family. memories i tell you.

  • Best show on the topic of S and M.

  • C'mon, who wouldn't Charles in charge of their kids?? lol

Great show. Great theme song. Can't get enough of it.

  • What happened in that house when Charles and Buddy got drunk or stoned? Someone should have called Child Protective Services. Show was perverted.

  • used to be my fav when i was a baby/kid ..

  • @ajniss Ben Stiller, dodge ball.

  • Gosh. I was born in '94 and I still wish I grew up in the 80's. Everything seemed much more real back then. The TV shows were more family-oriented. Charles in Charge is probably one of my favorite shows from the 80's.

He was such a babe back then :]

  • @MiChAeLjAcKsOn618

    i totaly agree bro,

    im born in '93 too

& the years before us look so cool.

  • I was born in '85 but I was too young to know what was going on. I wish I had grown up in the 80s too! That was the best decade of movies and tv shows. Even though there was a big recession or whatever I still think living in a time without cell phones and the internet was much more real. Kids actually went out and did stuff.

  • What're you talkin' about!? Kids are out defeating Orcs and stuff, protecting our world! ... Our World... of Warcraft. =P

  • @FixMeThin7 ..well I was a kid of the 80's and some kids did go out of their house and enjoyed sports or their parents had them go to ballet lessons, karate classes, etc. The kids that stayed home watched a lot of TV (like me) or played Nintendo. Nintendo kept kids at home.

  • @MiChAeLjAcKsOn618 ..I was born in 80 and saw everything I could on TV, even though I was little. This show would come on afternoons after I did my homework and I would watch it to feel "grown up". Same wth Mr. Belvedere. Didnt get the adult jokes but it was something that was on TV that seemed "cool".

  • This is A to Z Pawn shop, right next door to the chinese restraunt here in Stilwell, Oklahoma.

  • I remember watching this show but don't remember it being revamped? There's another intro with a different cast except for willie ammes?

  • This song poked fun at Prince Charles subliminally.

  • God, I loved the 80's. Great TV shows! Now all these crap "reality" shows are on! Garbage!

  • It truly is a shame. I'm 25 and grew up watching all the wonderful family-oriented sitcoms with my family. All of these types of shows hold a lot of fond memories for me. Thank God for YouTube to help us keep these "memories" alive.

  • scrubs is pretty good and is a newer show

  • I agree! TV shows they make today don't even make it to the second season!

  • @rifftheref

Amen. Boy I miss this stuff.

  • @rifftheref the statement has nothing to back it up

  • this show makes full house look like south park.

  • Oh my God I really have to think carefully to remember a time i saw something more ridiculous xD

  • there'll never be a decade like the 80's ever again. what a wonderful age of movies, tv shows, cartoons etc. i'll always miss the 80's, where things made sense.

  • Agree. They were so cheesy but still loved them! Shows are good today but they rely on too much drama and effects. Was so much simpler back in the 80s.

  • @goodtrick

Well said, me too!! Can't forget about the music too!!

  • @goodtrick I agree. Most modern shows lack the depth and sincerity the older shows possessed.

  • @goodtrick

    Could'nt have said it better.

  • @goodtrick -- I'm totally with you. 1980s and early 1990s. Its like 1982-1993 was an era in itself.

  • @goodtrick omg u took the words out of my mouth!!!

  • @goodtrick @goodtrick omg u took the words out of my mouth!!!

  • @goodtrick agreed. we were the last ones to be allowed to have a childhood.

  • @goodtrick

Amen. The country was strong. the Gipper waz pres. Micheal Jackson was king. Sitcom's were at there hight. Women actually liked men. Superman was flying high and StarWars ruled the Galaxay.

  • @jayce79 people should piss on Reagan's grave. He and his cabinent really fukked up the usa.

  • @goodtrick

    I second that notion.

  • @goodtrick From the Regan era to, "Say no to crack".

  • Damn I miss the 1980s

  • I use 2 absolutely luv this show and song. I use 2 wake up early n the morning just 2 catch it.

  • Josie davis was so cute on here

  • Nicole isn't fat by normal standards, but by Hollywood standards she definitely is. She's only about 140 lbs, but the way people talk about her you would think she was pushing 300

  • Scott Baio dates much further than Charles In Charge. His very first television appearances were on two Gary Marshall shows that were both entitled Blansky's Beauties and Who's Watching The Kids? to name a few. After those shows were canceled, he landed for the role of Chachi in Happy Days.

  • Ah! So that's where Scott Baio's from. I saw him in the third season of Arrested Development and didn't know who he is.

  • Th first 2 people were in "Full House", too right?

  • Scott Baio and Willie Aames? No.

  • For fans of 80's shows, doesnt it bother u guys that some ppl on Youtube seem to think all these actors are dead ? LOL Sure this was years ago but the actors arent in their 90's and ready to croak!

  • Nicole didn't get fat. She models. Willie may did abuse drugs...he was molested when he was a child....and he was very depressed. Scott Baio, has his own website lol, so um...maybe he's ego is big.

  • is it just me, or did scott baio look like frigo from adventureland in this video?

  • Show was a little before my time (I was 4 when it ended) but I watched reruns of it all the time when they used to show it. Sucks they don't anymore. Anyway, I loved the show, and god was Nicole hot.

  • Thanks for the memories....

  • The singer is Shandi Sinnamon! Re-recorded it for the series when they changed the cast! She won a Grammy for a song she wrote and performed in the film Flashdance called "He's A Dream! She has also written and performed songs for films and TV dramas, including "Tough Love" for the film "The Karate Kid", "Living on the Edge" & "Double Trouble" for the film "Making the Grade" and "Gotcha", the title song for the film "Gotcha!" among many others!

  • what would you do if you found scott baio hiding out in your basement?

  • probably ask him to teach me those dance moves he displays 3 seconds into this video

  • this is the best sitcom theme song of all time... such an awesome memorable melody!!

  • family guy made this lol with peter as the ssecurity guard

  • Really liked this show when it was on, but this has got to be one of the WORST tv theme songs of all time. The lyrics....really??

  • This is like a shit white version of Fresh Prince Of Bell Air

  • hehe yah

  • I wish they still played this somewhere. :(

  • i loved the old guy who used to yell "doorbell" whenever someone came to the door

  • !! You got THAT thought from watching this! Wow, this opening really must have failed its purpose. to think it's suppose to make people happy...

  • didn't scott baio date the pretty one in real life?

  • im not sure but about a year ago he was on this show to find him a wife

  • Love this effing theme song.

  • wow, this show is 20 years old, i cant believe it.

  • Comment removed

  • Lol! I liked this show alot but I couldn't get past how clueless Buddy was. It's like ok, he got brains enough to come up with these fantastic things he heard when him and Charles are talking but then once they agree its good, doesn't have brains enough to figure out what happens if it all falls apart? That makes no sense. What, like he's trying to get Charles in trouble or something? j/k Btw, I always thought Josie Davis was kinda cute.

  • Buddy was pretty dumb by the end of the series.

  • i love this

    thanks

  • this show was pretty amazing, scott and nicole were a couple for a few years as well.

  • i only ever watched this for nicole eggert

  • Nicole was hot...

  • I always used to think Alex Polinsky was soo adorable.

  • we work at the same place. he is a few cubicles away from me

  • Really, what type of place. U are sooo lucky. :)

  • charles got his job off of craigslist, 87 cast was better except for the boy , nicole eggert is hot

  • You have reason; Nicole es very sexy.

  • @adrianmn

God, YEEES!!! Her hair looks gorgeous, love 80s hair and i aint just talkin' bout the hair on her head.....hey it was the 80's ;)

  • @Isthisthelongestname i personally prefere a shaven haven ;)

  • @rjb8 There is a movie called "Blown Away" that came out in the early 90's staring Nicole Eggert. Great movie if you want to see her naked. Im not kidding. Do a searh on it.
