let me ask you: What if slaughterhouses were not so corrupted and they treated animals kindly and killed therm with minimum pain, you wouldn't become a vegetarian?
It's clear that there exist animal abuse and inhumane killings which need to be minimized. But to advocate vegetarianism for everyone and abandon meat consumption entirely is asinine.
What about the millions of people starving? or the people employed in the industry and their families? or indigenous people (located in tundras for instance) whose main food source is meat? What will happen to all the cuisines (which is a large component of a nation's culture, history, and tradition) in the world?
We cannot compare ourselves to lions, wolves or any other meat eating animal. As humans, very much advanced and intelligent like we like to call ourselves, we should have found more intelligent ways to feed humanity, control the amount of people that are born. Unlike most meat eating animals in the wild, we dont fight for our food, we dont go hunting for a pray or fight each other for food (at least not yet). We have much easier lives, all we have to do is buy it.

It's clear that there exist animal abuse and inhumane killings which need to be minimized. But to advocate vegetarianism for everyone and abandon meat consumption entirely is asinine.
What about the millions of people starving? or the people employed in the industry and their families? or indigenous people (located in tundras for instance) whose main food source is meat? What will happen to all the cuisines (which is a large component of a nation's culture, history, and tradition) in the world?

We cannot compare ourselves to lions, wolves or any other meat eating animal. As humans, very much advanced and intelligent like we like to call ourselves, we should have found more intelligent ways to feed humanity, control the amount of people that are born. Unlike most meat eating animals in the wild, we dont fight for our food, we dont go hunting for a pray or fight each other for food (at least not yet). We have much easier lives, all we have to do is buy it.

I don't think it's as different as it is in the wild. Wolves viciously bite their pray and don't even eat all of the innards, leaving birds,etc. to feed off of the rotting carcasses. I'm not saying that it's right, but I'm saying people think you should automatically become vegetarian because an animal dies.
