  • Hi mate you could do a Day Out with Thomas Day and put faces on the frount of so engines and use the Auto engine 1436xx with an auto coach and can you think of any ideas for Event to run on my Model railway or Known as CVR. for the thomas event as if you can borrow someones thomas engine may thanks

    Baileytrain

  • will we c 4468 Mallard out during the event??

  • praps no.4560 with in this order autocoach,mk1,mk1 brake,mk1,mk1,mk1 buffet,pullman observation car

  • I'd go for freight trains i just find them more exciting

  • Thanks for commenting

  • good vid sam i need to get one up soon and its not long till christmas so i can get my mamod running

  • Thanks. Have see your Mamod. Looks like good stuff. Have fun.

  • I'm getitng the SW1 for Xmas. To go with my D405. Picked it up for £40 in mint condition. Bargain.lol

  • You now got a bot of the mamod and the wilesco also if you need any parts for your SW1 or extras just go to a website called steam for fun theres some goos stuff and i think you be able to get road tyres aswell (only £6.00) anyway enjoy it its gonna be a lot faster than that wilesco you got.

  • Another idea is a S&D double header with the 9F & 34051 or 45156 & 34051

  • Thanks for your suggestions. The 45156 & 34051 doubleheader is certainly one which we could consider!...the 9F is currently still undergoing work to the valve gear and bottom end

  • If you do can you please make sure they are both chimmy first & black 5 as Pilot

  • They will be for photographic reasons. 34051 always faces South and on the occasion so will 45156.

  • thanks

  • We can confirm double-heading Bullied Pacifics...

  • brilliant!!!

  • how about all Great Western Railway gala for the GWR 175 gala

  • Hmm yes another interesting thought. This will be considered but I feel that this may be something for another gala. Possibly in April 2010, subject to the popularity of the January one! Thank you.

  • 5stars

  • Thanks mate. Any suggestions for the gala?

  • yes have a pullman special

  • Yes a Devon Belle Pullman Special with 34051 at the front & the Devon Belle OB car at the rear

  • Hmmm yes. I've just noticed this one. An interesting one but, due to the model, difficult! lol. The Devon Belle car doesn't have a rear coupling so its hard to run it on an "end to end" railway as it were. (Even though we have a full circuit on the quiet! Sshh!). However, we will try and do at least one run with the car on the Pullmans, then it could be propelled back as a shuttle or something. Another idea is that the visiting A1X may work an Ashford Shuttle. Maybe the DB could be used on this?

  • couldn't the A1X push the DB out and bring say an autocoach back, while the pullmans take the auto out and bring the DB back??

  • Tis possible yes. With a lot of interesting shunting. We can do it of course. The best shunting engine, Pannier No5775, a regular in our videos, will unfortunately be sitting the gala out however so we'll have to just use whatevers available.

  • Id love to see a Giants of steam gala at your layout

  • Thanks for commenting. This has always been a possiblity for the railway. Maybe this gala will be the one?!

  • definitely have freight and double headers in the mix, would be nice to see your b12 and maybe a king and a coronation if possible

  • Thanks for commenting. The King will be available to take part at the time as it is currently in traffic. The B12 could be a possiblity but our unstreamlined Coronation is currently in bits, under overhaul. The streamlined one is in store so maybe another possibility? The freights and doubleheaders will definately be included.

  • Maybe a "Big Four" gala? The King and B12 will have to take place. We have also just confirmed our Guest No1 for the gala, a Southern Railway 0-6-0 Terrier Tank! Plans are afoot already! lol

  • how about a cavalcade of locos

    Visiting?

    mixed trains

locos in guises ie 34067 tangnmere (i think ) in guise of 34002 salisbury

  • Thanks for commenting. Yes another good bunch of suggestions. We always welcome visiting locomotives and are currently looking out for some for this gala. (We haven't had any for a while you see). Mixed trains may return for the gala as well. Guises may be a possibility as well. Thanks again. Take care.

  • For your interest, we have just confirmed a Terrier as Guest No1 for our gala. We hope to have at least two by the time it takes place! Two more are lined up at present however. One from the LMS, and one from the LNER.
