    hello almeidada

  • Cornelia Shutt (aka) Ti Corn, born in Cap-Haitien of German Parents. Her nanny was the one who breastfed her as a baby. Her father was a well know coffee exporter in Cap-Haitien. Her older brother married one of the daughters of Mr. LaRoche. She used to sing with my brother. She resides in Frankfurt Germany unless she came back home since the country is safer now. My grandfather was her father's lawyer. Only those of us who are true Capois from certain families would know these facts about her.

  • @gilgabe

My Grandpa is from Germany I remember he was enjoying listening that song...

  • @timaliceetbouqui , Who is your grandfather? Are you from Cap-Haitien?

  • do you think Haiti will change, we have chased most of our talent away. How sad our case is!

  • Well, it appears that Haiti is on the road for a better future but then again knowing the ignorant and hungry politicians of Haiti, once they realize that corruption and progress don't go hand on hand, they will definitely try to mislead the poor people to believe that foreign investors are buying off the country under their feet. Haiti, unfortunately, is doomed with a very large number of the population who is uneducated and they have been used not by the elite but the dark skin politicians.

  • Haiti has a lot of potentials, natural beauty, a very vibrant Afro-centric culture with a true creole zest, a history like no other in the world, a world renowed artistic uniqueness, untouched natural resources, unspoiled beaches and a people warning for true governance embodied with brotherhood, honesty, respect, innovation, competition, progress, modernization and democracy. Don't get me wrong there have been many foreign entities that have prefered the poor status quo for Haiti.

  • Those foreign entities that have favored the poor status quo for Haiti have succeed due to Haitian politicians. On one hand you have the dark Haitians with a complex of inferiority with it comes to the mulato class. On the other hand you have the same dark skin politicians misleading their poor mass black skin brothers in order to rob the country. Ironically, these dark skin politicians tend to favore a mulato wife while they make the poor believe that their misfotunes are caused by the rich.

  • you accentuated a lot on "dark skin politicians" where [ you have to admit] the fortune of the country is in the hand of the mulato and who baricaded their houses, little society; as well favores foreign investors. Haiti's problem is not a 1 way traffic. I think we need to become an anarchist state, and chase all prejudice. With the presence of those foreign soldiers from 91 to today, DO YOU KNOW THAT THE POOR DEMOGRAPHIC IS CHANGING. sex for money than comes those fatherless mulato kids

  • The fortune of the country isn't in the hands of the rich mulatoes. Haiti's natural resources aren't being exploted, so far the only natural resource of Haiti that has been exploted since the times of slavery is the people. What the rich has control over is absolute monopoly over the current economic status of Haiti which indeed with the US has been guarded like a fort. Remember in the US politics work in the form of lobbyists. Haiti has had many inadequate and imcompetent governments.

  • One thing I notice about most Haitians is that, they aren't politicians material rather they are revolutionists to the core. What Haiti needs isn't "ANARCHY", with over 65 % of the population uneducated, no modern infastructures, and a lack of a real middle class, your anarchy will take Haiti backward since you'll have to get rid of the classes you oppose, then like a typical Haitian leader, you'll have abosulte power over millions of ignorant people of course with your mulato wife next to you.

  • The problems of Haiti roots deep in the first day of its existence. To the mulatoes opposed the black ruling & verse versa. In true reality, it was the ex slaves who fought for freedom and independence but it was the mulatoes who were educated and with their coorporations and knowledges could have moved Haiti foward. Still today when the mass is protesting, the first thing they do is to cut branches of trees. The needs of destructions is never far away from their minds "thanks to Dessalines".

  • I really don't quite understand what you mean by "baricaded their houses".When you become rich yourself and you'll build your million dollar home and its expensive contents, then you'll comprehend the precautions that one must take to protect one valuable properties. This is another problem that some Haitians misunderstand; rich people whether in Haiti, Europe, Asia, America ect...isn't different from one another. Class prejudice is something that happens the world over.

  • The DEMOGRAPHY isn't changing as a result of sex with foreigners which results of mulato kids as you stated. DEMOGRAPHY means the growth of a population. What I believe you meant is the HOMOGENEOUS make up of the population is changing. Well, Haiti after Columbus' arrival lost that HOMOGENEOUS population which were the Arawaks (Indians). Even the darkest skin Haitians today can claim their European descendents and other ethnicities. The over populated issue of Haiti is the result of poverty.

  • I am not a mulato nor am I their defender. Yes my forebearers were mulatoes, as a result I am from a family of educated professionals. We can consider ourselves members of "la ptite bourgoisie". During slavery it was the white men's preogative to rape the black women. It today's world it is a result of surviving and moving up the ladder. Remember Aristide with all his rhetorics of empowering the black mass against the mulatoes turned around married a mulato. Such is common in Haitian politics.

  • Finally, my family has paid dearly under many governments. From killings, to tortures and imprisonments. The mass can and will vote for anyone who looks like them or comes from them, but the educated class and the elite can easily tell when a politician hasn't gotten the right credentials to govern. Most of those in politics in Haiti are solely there to make money. Since politics change daily in Haiti, then corruption becomes essential. Now can you blame the elite for being overprotective.

  • paradi sur terre pays de reve, yon siel de paix......ayiti ou se lideal??????? helas! this one really made me sad...:( but it was nice to see and hear it again.
