  • you all need to keep in mind that the engine is being reved under no load, which means the turbo isint spinning as fast as it would be if it was being driven, so there would be little,if not no effect on the turbo- cold starting and reving it is another thing however.

    That much moisture spraying out the exhaust piping generally indicates a cold start.

  • Also could be running rich...another indication of a cold start as most "good" ECU's run a ruch a/f ratio until operating temperature is reached.

    I have debated this many times and looked into it at great detail.

    I agree that revving then shutting down is bad for the turbo but its not as bad as many say as the turbo is still well oiled and the bearings coated in a thick film of sticky oil so if a splash fed lawmowers big end can survive so can a turbo; the main thing is the heat, u idle for a while to alow oil to cool turbo/ bearings or u get stagnant hot oil carbonising.

    hes reffering to the fact that he revved it then shut it down without idling for a few seconds to allow turbo to spool down; result is a fast spinning turbo with its oil supply cut off!

    It wears them out faster.

    la ou c'est pas bon c'est que froid ou chaud peu importe un moteur turbo ne s'arrête jamais après une accélération franche .

    pour la bonne et simple raison c'est que le turbo tourne bien plus vite que le moteur en général de l'ordre de 120.000 160.000 tours minutes en pleine charge.

  • @NCCOGAME et que le fait de couper le moteur coupe la pompe à huile par logique donc le turbo va tourner de longue seconde sans lubrification , cause de nombreuses casse sur moteur turbo.

  • WTF!!! I agree with all you guys,, If im not mistaken these turbos didnt have intercoolers back then which makes it 100 times worse on the turbo to shut it off still spooled up like that..Maybe somebody can shed some light on this for me.. What a fuckin MORON!!!

  • Think the water in the exhaust is deliberate because it make the exhaust louder. It does this because the silencing stuff soaks up all the water and then it can`t absorb the sound.

  • Never rev the engine like that when you just started it ! The turbo charger still has no oil the first 10 seconds ! Even when you want to turn off the engine keep it running on idle speed to save the turbo. You have a nice car but you don't know how the handle it ! ! ! ! !

  • @24streetgex ce n'est pas d'attendre que l'huile redescende ca n'a rien à voir c'est datt'endre au ralenti moteur suffisament de temps pour que le turbo revienne a son regime de ralenti aussi .

    la ce que le mec fait c'est que le turbo est lancer pleine balle il arrete le moteur et donc le turbo ne recoit plus d'huile de la pompe pour le lubrifier en gros rien de mieux pour tuer un turbo....
