I may be mistaken, but he had a short run, stopped at a pub for a drink part-way though and surrendered to the Brittish when they came into the pub. Wow there are a ton of people actually defending her and saying she was right?! Ok here is what happened people. On April 18, 1775, Dr. Joseph Warren instructed Revere to ride to Lexington, Mass., to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock that British troops were marching to arrest them. Shortly after he was to continue his ride and warning however he got drunk and arrested at a pub instead. Good thing there was 39 other riders to make up for his boozing lol.

Apparently what he actually said was "the regulars are coming", ie the regular army as opposed to the colonial militia. America didn't exist, Paul Revere etc would all have considered themselves British. Something that's been handily overlooked by Americans

@tony10396861 It hasn't been overlooked by Americans that this land was colonized by the British during the 1600's. Many American colonists (which is what they were) revolted against the crown for various reasons. Why do you care about the exact words Revere used? Who cares? He, Dawes, and Prescott probably whispered many things that night. Lad, don't rely on Wikipedia for your history lessons about other countries. Incessant 21st century European bitching about America has gotten very stale.

A lot of people care about the exact words he used, the story has become the almost the flagship tale of the American revolution. Who bitches about America? I'm certainly not, I've been going to Florida every year since I was young and really love the place. I just thought it was interesting

I may be mistaken, but he had a short run, stopped at a pub for a drink part-way though and surrendered to the Brittish when they came into the pub. He was only picked for the famous poem because his name rhymed easier than the other two involved in the ride

I was a C student, and I have an IQ of 180. I like learning, I enjoy debating, but I was simply unmotivated during school, which I have noticed many very intelligent people to be the same. Albert Einstein had very average grades during school, as well as Darwin, Isaac Newton and many more. Palin is not among these.

@mrmike505 Coming from a woman who doesn't have good federal knowledge, has made other history mistakes, and doesn't have adequate knowledge of how American government operates (according to Republicans, on the O'Reilly Factor), I would say this instance was a fluke, as the point of the ride was to warn locals Adams and Hancock along with local militias. The point of his ride was not to get captured by British forces to threaten them. Why can't people accept the Sarah Palin is uneducated?
