  • maybe the "great spirit" was trying to say that you should'nt take the warriors things because it shows a sign of greed and although they're gonna die anyway just leave their stuff there!

  • My native band does the sundance bit differently.

  • so they fucked up the indians they did. greed has councerd them.

  • The time of knowing has come.....

  • This must be when he cut 50 chunks of skin out of each arm. I belive thats when he had the proficy of custers men, falling from the sky, into the village. The sundace looks like the most painfull thing ever. Having thoes claw things stuck through your pecktoral muscles, and tieing them to a post, then leaning back, so your being held up, by your skin. In a movie i seen, Crazy Horse, leaned back and let them rip out, when he was a kid. IDK if its a historical fact though.

  • Does anyone know what documentary this is originally from?

  • and why the hell are they still saying "Indians"?

  • Our believes are more credible because they worship nature.. we humans do not own land or anything.. when we leave this world we don't take anything with us.. our roots will never die..

  • You are wrong to keep everything hidden...how else are people to undrstand us...you dance for tourist sacred war dance why not teach what it is all about...Eagle Feather...

  • You are wrong to keep everything hidden...how else are people to undrstand us...you dance for tourist sacred war dance why not teach what it is all about...Eagle Feather...

  • Oooh kaay.??

  • well col1n1234 ..it's refreshing to see your education comes from the TV ..we all know how reliable that is...(eye-roll)...let me guess ..you think bat-man is real and your wife was a virgin..right ...I bet you look cute in that tin-foil hat (wink wink )

  • @914light

Hang on let me remove my hat, Let me know what you have to say, Bat man ?? ( My Wife that hurt ) I hope your Eye problems clear up,

    God Bless you

  • hmmm

  • Hey yellow hair.....Can you hear me??????? Remember me???? I am Tasunka Witko......better known as Crazy Horse...How's your scal;p feel you rotten maggot????

  • We will take their revange from the barbarians.

  • well you have to admire his tenacity

  • :)

  • the native americans: nothing but pure skill and bravery. not abondoning the old ways like the rest of the world... ive always admired them, and i wish i could have died with them....

  • Cool ! Wir tanzen immer in Pullmancity / Eging den Sonnentanz.

  • Youtube, YOU SUCK! Where did my download button go?

  • 1. Invade America.

    2. Steal ALL the land.

    3. Kill ALL its inhabitants (i.e. Native Americans).

    4. Call *yourself* Americans.

    5. Preach to the British about killing some of the Irish and stealing

    some? of their land.

    6. Continue to occupy Native American land.

  • @KodOdessa - That argument is a lot more complicated than that and you know it or if you don't then you choose to wear blinkers and close your mind to the truth - History happened and we all have to accept it - so what can you do? - btw - I'm Irish

  • Sitting Bull was an Oregon Ducks fan?

  • This video sucks !!!

  • dang

  • This seemed like a poor effort that only hinted at the purpose of the Sun Dance and its depiction. The film started pulling in other circumstances that lead to the Custer battle.and the avowed crushing wrath of the U.S. government on all native nations that continue to this day.

  • my cousin married the most amazing stunning lakota woman 25 years ago . he is so lucky !!

  • why film brakes on speech... when yellow horseman apears???

  • @joaomendes88 This is just a segment from a documentary about the battle of the little bighorn. a few small parts from the documentary put together. when custer and his scout are talking, thats before the fighting took place. when it shows Sitting Bull sitting down telling them not to take stuff, thats after the fight.

  • i did not know sitting bull had a ''White Beard'' or matter of fact, any facial hair! interesting FAIL!

    Wasujuthaba LOL

  • I wonder what Sitting Bull would have done had a white man came up to him and started shadow boxing and punching Sitting Bull's arm.

  • Who cast the part for Sitting Bull anyway? That guy looks like charles manson or a spainard? That guy does not look anything like Sitting Bull, I'm surprised Tom Cruise isn't playing Sitting Bull. Hoka Hey

  • No disrespect but i was told we are to never show our cultural doings on camera or video, with all do respect...i don't think this is right!

Atleast use a real indian for the guy in yellow paint if your going to be making videos like this.

  • @Chandler18100

    Hi and thanks

I did not film or cast this, only edited it some,

Why would you think Sitting Bull went around with Buffalo Bill acting out such battle’s as the Little Big Horn. Would it be he wanted all to see.

    colin

  • @Chandler18100 What does this steady progression from isolation mean to you?

  • No disrespect but i was told we are to never show our cultural doings on camera or video, with all do respect...i don't think this is right!

  • As he sheds his blood Sitting Bull said "I give you, grandfather, all that I own", almost similar to Jesus putting himself on the cross to show god his prayers and love for all of humanity are serious.

  • LMAO that guy in the paintings is just a white man,how can you all be so blind, this is too funny.

  • good stuff i think....im currently on the srst rez....supposedly where sitting bull was actually buried but i heard stories his remains have been moved some years ago unknown where.....i believe the native topic is very touchy to this day....

  • Time for more lands returned to Native Americans. My people, the Wendat are originated from Kanata (Canada to all you who don't understand Wendat language) which means Village. Later immigrated to the US via Michigan then to Ohio (known as Wyandottes). Wyandottes are actually the Tobacco Hurons (Petun or Khionontati).

Ohio comprised of many Nations (Delawares,Mohicans, Mingos,Shawnees,Wyandottes). The Erie were the earliest known.

  • Sorry if you thought i didnt like the video but i did man i was doing research all day so it gets boring. sorry

  • Only one horse made it out of the battle of little big horn. Just a little fun fact. then i give a boring but well deserves single person yay like in the dq commercials where the lady brings in the cake and every body yells and then the guy brings the forks but only one person yells. Im the one person

  • @audioslave331

Hello, thank you for your input.

    Kind Regards

    colin

  • @audioslave331 fuk yea dog.but hollr for seal 6.my lil bro has been tryin to make them feel better for 9 years.a bunch of us that needed jobs beeen doin it to at least keep the white war from spillin.either though they keep finding oil on Indian land.like it's theres.

  • this one guy narating the ritual looks chinese..asian at least.

  • @sniffinu07

Well....That's because Native Americans migrated across the Bering Strait from what is now modern day Siberia. So they are ASIAN. What else did you expect them to look like....Australian Aborigines? Martians?

  • @mayzin100 They keep finding artifacts older than the land bridge "theory". And why is it that no one is recorded as returning as well? What of the South American peoples? Land bridge? lol. Who paid for that study. Follow the money. Read Immanuel Zelikovsky? Why was there no "ice age" in Siberia? Check Worlds in Upheaval.

  • @sniffinu07 Chinese built the railways. They got along with some of the First Nations. ie: The blood is sometimes mixed now. Some will show traits, some won't. It's been 5-8 generations now.

  • This video is for white people and who ever posted this is probably white and doesn't know the real meaning behind it!!!

  • @0968shay

Yes I’m Whiter in winter and brown in summer, what am I missing, I would like to know why my Vision Link's with this Video

    colin

  • @0968shay so white people arent capable of reason ?

  • @crazyvideosguyful because the wasicu don't understand or have the capability to understand about Native American ways of living and doing things. Even to this day.

  • @0968shay and what the real meaning is?

  • YA IS TIME FOR AMERICAN INDIAN!! ---> LIVE INDIANS AMERICANS AND VIVA AMERICA---->

  • wat tribe is this?

  • @MsNintendogs

Sitting Bull. Lakota Sioux as far as I know, All where Human beings

    colin

  • @MsNintendogs it was the Hunkpapa lakota sioux.

  • @MsNintendogs he is an oglala lakota sioux a great war cheif who faught the whites ill the end

  • No body on this knows shit about the past & how native life really was.. I don't , all our knowledge is lost & culture changed with time.. So get the fuck over it.. All I see in comments is little bitches saying " I know more"....

  • quite a bit diferent from any sundance ive been to and ive gone since i was in the womb only mising less than what i can count on my hands. the ideals are pretty much right minus the part of women being excluded but the depictions are all wrong

  • Thanks

  • my ancestry is filled with several chiefs

  • @davidwhitecloud

Not having respect for our past, Our future is limited.

    colin

  • hey Colin.. why not post some good vids like the the ones from sevengenfund filming Chief Oren Lyons. He speaks to real native philosophy and America's Doctrine of Discovery past and current.

Since Australia passed the Flora and Fauna act in the mid 80's (Aboriginals were not counted as humans in Aust. census till then!) the US and Canada now have the most draconian actions against thier native population in the world! It isn't history...it is CURRENT NEWS!

    Aho Mitakaye Oyasin

  • Carrie Dann commented, "It's disgraceful how the United States makes international statements about human rights and then commits this kind of assault in our own backyard. It destroys their credibility and moral authority."

    snowwowl.com/hhmarydann.html

  • On January 9, 2003, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights found that the "United States has been violating the human rights of the Western Shoshone, including the right to equality before the law, the right to judicial protection and due process, and the right to property," marking the first time that the U.S. has been formally found in violation of international human rights in its treatment of Indigenous peoples within its border.

Please look for REAL native issues ppl! Aho

  • FYI folx... as far as I can see this is not much better than blackface. Disgraceful portrayal of something that isn't 'discussed' ...probably why it is so disgusting! DO NOT TAKE THIS AS AN ACCURATE PORTRAYAL OF OUR HISTORY! I addition, our way of praying is not a spectator sport...if you want to learn about the native difficulties read about the Dann sisters(W. Shoshone) or how the US gov't is poisoning the people of Pine Ridge with illegal drilling....the truth is available pls search it!

  • @mybuddyrobin

I will look, I posted this clip from a film that is well distributed,( I have seen it at least 3 times in full on TV), not to cause harm but to open minds, Ron His Horse explains what is and has been happening for 400 years, this happened to tribes of Brittan over 2000 years ago, according to the Mayan Calendar from the 10th Feb 2011, the last level or period of time started, we see it, but until a higher power steps in I cannot see this way of life changing,

    colin

  • @mybuddyrobin I agree

  • Hello, I Am Native American And To Let U Guys Know That The Sundance Is Supposed To Be Sacred !! But I Guess Some IDIOT!! Had To Expose This Very VERY Sacred Piece Of Ground And About 95% Of Indians You See In Movies Are Stereo-Types And The Person Who Exposed The Sundance Ceremony IS A DISGRACE AND THEY KNEW BETTER THAN TO DO THAT!!! HOKA DOKSA AKE!!

  • @DJayN8tive4life Aho!!!

  • My question is: how much more of the white culture have you taken? Tankashila knows. My question is for Arvol. My regards, to Leonard.

  • TIME FOR A NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN FOR PRESIDENT.

  • @skylon6 Yeah I can't believe the would have some guy that we can't even tell what the hell he is before a native, but it's all because they took the spoils of the dead soldiers.

  • @skylon6 Seriusly that would be great! I'm a Sioux and I think that the Sioux should have little more respect that we don't have today. At my school everybody is bulling me for ''Ride a horse and make that war cry while you are dancing around a fire pit!'' that is not how we done... We are a proud people as our family's will be... if a Native American became President of United States! George bush messed the whole thing up!

  • @skylon6

  • @skylon6 really? name one,and it cant be Russ Means....sadly Native Americans have little leadership now, because any of them that make noise get "taken care of" like the Mr. Bellecourt ,but its good to see the powers that be have backed off the women and children, They made John Trudell famous by killing his family. it will never happen, presidents arent elected anyway lol

  • @skylon6 - So let him or her run for it! - It seems that the native peoples are keeping themselves down today (not the past) that anybody else. I don't think anyone today ... white , green, blue, black or yellow will dispute the wrongs of history but all those people today are not responsible for those wrongs and wish you no ill. It seems to me that everybody accuses somebody who is white (not their fault) for all that history is done. It's wrong and it's just as racist as your accusation!

  • @skylon6 I don't think it's possible at this very moment for a Native American (small as our population is) to fully meet the qualifications for it, get around the ones that deny him certain things because of his heritage and tradition, win a political campaign, AND not get assassinated. I mean, it's a bumpy ride ahead full of dangerous hitchhikers. It would take strong medicine just to go through that. Not to mention abandoning the idea of being a sovereign community.

  • @skylon6 That would be like becoming the captain of the sinking titanic. Sorry, but most of us don't want to become president. They are not considered honored.

  • this has absolutely nothing to do with the sundance...and Sitting Bull did not wear a Bonnet for a CEREMONY...not a ritual...and not so ancient ...it is NOT A RITUAL ..the Sun Dance is a PRAYER...Sitting Bull did not have a beard...no Indians wore beards! (not genetically geared to facial hair!) The speakers in this video are speaking their stories but the visual interpretations of their stories are totally inaccurate and very (Hollywood) theatrical. it is almost shameful!

  • haha no way an ojibwe back in the day would do the sun dance, haha if this was about the dakota sioux, id laugh we chased them from northwestern ontario to southern minnisota, and the dakotas and western manitoba

  • @CrassClown9967

So what is this to brag about today. It was the fact that all native peoples did not realize the dire racial threat that faced them (not necessarily their fault) that enabled racist white Amerika to defeat them. For the white devils all indians were to be gotten rid of. Remember the words of general Sheridan; 'The only good indian is a dead indian'. Hitler admired the white Anglo-Saxons for what thet had done in North America: exterminate and enslave! think about that.

  • @zephof well we all had other enemies i dont think its very smart to fight a war on more than 1 front.

  • :)

do you know if it is possible to download it somewhere??

  • wath is the name of this dockumentar? yes i am a native american :)

i come fron the andres in Colombia :)

  • @leii93nad The name of the Documentary is called "The Wild West - Custers Last Stand" .. you can google it to find out more about it.

  • Indians are soo epic and awesome and I lol'd at Sitting Bull having a beard xD

  • this is not the real thing.. DUH,... they are explaining the history in a storie, and some of it ,is even fiction..

  • NAMASTE ‎~ ♥ ~ /X\/Y\ ~ ♥ ~

  • I am not of native American. I am a white teen heh but this video shows a lot more to me then just a dance. I just wanted to say thanks for posting the video

  • this is a great video! i have read throught the comments and if the guy that posted this vid reads this i would liek to know are you a native? i live up in Alberta near the blackfoot(siksika) nation and although im white Native Amarican culture facinates me and it always has

  • @444CURTIS

    Hi

    I'm Human.

    Love, Light and Peace

    colin

  • @col1n1234 .......

  • Hey guys. It is me BonjourChristinaa and just to let you know I didn't post it, my uncle did. kk? thanks

  • Thank you for posting this, it was very informative and honored Sitting Bull's name for standing up with his tribe. I'm not a native american in any shape or form, so I have no call on what should or should not have been shown, but this was obviously on television before you posted it, so it's not your fault. I'll never know how powerful your sun dances are, and I assure you this video clip doesn't show me much of the sun dance or the ritual, so I hope there is no harm done by me watching it.

  • @ all the haters...

Search for "Thomas Edison Dance" and realize that most tribes didn't have an issue with being filmed doing "sacred" dances.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, I have no idea what to say. I am Lakota Sioux from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, my mother was Cheyenne Eagle Butte. I feel sad that you have exposed something so dear to me. I have had plenty of sundances and participated in them. I will and don't ever recall pulling the skin or flesh out of the body. I think this almost sickens me. I am however living and going to school Kansas that I see this and people still think Native Americans are bad people. Racism is alive to this day,

  • this should not have been filmed...if people really respect native americans then this would not be on here....this is suppose to be sacred....

  • native indegenous people come from god you could tell

  • uffffff that look painfull went the indian pull a piece of hes skin with the knife i think is better to get a nother vision from the sun but not with the sun dance rituals

  • @junior1nr hmm... well Christians pray to a man who sacrificed his LIFE for the people...why do you believe you as a non native with no understanding of our ways, have ANY right to judge? Have you learned nothing from your forefathers? We do not ask you to participate in any way to our spiritual ceremonies..yet Christians still force thier brand of faith down everyone elses throats. Look to your own people and judge, for you sir have NO RIGHT TO SPEAK TO OUR PEOPLE or ways!

  • @nork21 everything that america produce is ours america belong to us we never sing any papers saying that we give the land to you

  • What was this lands greatest natural resourse? Was it gold? No.. it was and always will be our Native Americans. Why? Because they had the knowledge of tending to & caring for mother earth & all of its creation. They where not perfect beings no but the knowledge they had on the right way to live was indeed the greatest knowledge we lost. Greed was this countries downfall, greed & lies by white settlers. It sickens me to know the truth but I pray for our Natives that they may rise again

  • A reenactment is not the same as the real thing. The Passion Play in the Black Hills depicting Christ's crucifiction is not an actual crucifiction. People, get real, stop being jerks.

  • Im on the Native Americans side. I just hate the soilders how they just be unfair with the guns and cannons and how they betray the natives. I also hate them for killing women and children and not caring about them. i just fkin hate the soilders

  • he has no beard ya idjits!! thats a painted beard

  • Great history. Brave people. Thanks for posting it.

  • A sun dance is a Sun Dance, sure its suppose to be "Sacred" but not anymore. If it was suppose to be "Sacred" they wouldn't evan Film it in the first place..I'm a Lakota Sioux, My greatgrand father was Sitting Bull, blah blah blah. But that man, in Yellow, isn't Sitting Bull. Sitting Bull never had a Beard! >.< IF this isn't Sitting Bull, then someone PLEASE TELL ME WHO THE HELL THAT GUY IS.

  • @Fantasylover4life

    Hi, Thank you,

It must be an actor that look's nothing like him, Why he has a Beard and a Black one on yellow,? but this Clip show's that Prophecy is a talent some Humans have,

I hope it encourages people not to hide there talents, But I do believe that what will be will be, Even if we Know and take a different path,

If any one can expand on this please post your findings,

    Love Light and Peace

    colin

  • @col1n1234

I agree! It is an actor. We owe to know how great men like Sitting Bull were thinking. I am Greek and I adore Native American culture. In this case to make this ritual more real they should have chosen an actor more like the Native Americans. We have much to leran from the "savages". Mother Earth and Manitou will never forgive white mann for his cruelties in America.

  • @Fantasylover4life actually it kind of looks more like make up than a real beard...

  • @Fantasylover4life

Thanks for your comment around something what Wrong is right around this to put

  • @Universesurfer1

    what? thats...abit confusing..

  • @Fantasylover4life a paid actor.

  • @Fantasylover4life Sitting Bull CAN'T be your great grandfather because he was born in 1831 and died in 1890 which was over 100 years ago... just sayin

  • @crymoon12s

Well i know that, im the 6th generation to be his grand-daughter. Soooo, yeah. and yes he CAN be my Great Grand-Father. I know when he was born, and which year he died in...... Just giving you a Fact.

  • @Fantasylover4life if its been 6 generations the ur his great great great great grandaughter

  • @Fantasylover4life , the sun dance is still very much alive and SACRED..

not sure where you are getting your info from

  • @SEKTAH3

i don't get my info from anyone or anywhere, its basically Common sence. If something is sacred, you wouldn't let anyone film it, or put it up on Youtube. Would you? Plus, im a Sioux, and i never heard such a thing called "Sun Dance" in my enitre life.

  • @Fantasylover4life , well then you do not follow tradition or practice your culture.

Sun dance has been around for a long time....look it up.

  • @SEKTAH3

Course i don't practice my tradition, im not that down to earth.

  • @Fantasylover4life REALLY??? you have never heard of the Sun Dances done ALL over the Dakotas? I am in Colorado and we have them here as well. Very odd that you profess to know so much yet you don't seem to know the facts. In addition, I beg to differ, OUR Sun Dance IS very sacred...and yes it is in no way filmed or photgraphed. This film is obscene in its portrayal..however it is obviously a white mans perspective of our ways & how many real Native do you see in it? .lol

  • @Fantasylover4life Its an actor you idiot.

  • @MichielVic

    I've been notified already, Becky.

  • @Fantasylover4life it's only a re-enactment. :)

  • @bambilita1

really?...I bet they done a poor job at duplicating it. XD

  • @Fantasylover4life oh dear fantasylove,

so sorry for yr distress over this. i can understand yr upset very well. so sorry

so sorry....i learned 3 days ago an old friend passed. i have been grieving, & chanting my own words as they come to me. my friend was 1/2 Blackfoot, which i know nothing about. so i have been coming & playing these wonderful peace & chanting songs, grieving for him. i know sitting bull is great master & i thought i find music. ....dont like this. peace & quiet. love. R

  • @Fantasylover4life

Yes, and that isn't General Custer either. I am pretty sure they didn't have color photography during the life of Sitting Bull or around the time of the battle at Little Big Horn. Surely the great grand son of Tȟatȟáŋka Íyotake would know this.

  • @wileepeyote

General Custer? Yeah they didn't have colored photography during Sitting Bulls life.

  • @Fantasylover4life you take away the sacridness of the sundance when you film it , if people are really interested they should get involved(as a sundancer this is my heart feelings , (experience is the best teacher.( James Peta Numpa- Lakota Nation.

  • @BonjourChristinaa

    Well i know that part already. {{"You take away the sacridness of the sundance when you film it."}}

  • @Fantasylover4life your "great grandfather" is dead, this man isn't ergo he is doing the dance.

  • @pazzesco

Well i know he is dead, sherlock.

  • @Fantasylover4life YOU ARE NO NATIVE JUSTIN BIEBER IS A LAUGH

  • @thoostorm4

thanks for telling me im not a Native Mother. This video isn't about Justin Bieber, take your talk with him somewhere else.

  • @Fantasylover4life I'f you wanna know for revenge I sugest you take afew steps backward, brother

  • @Glazipps177

brother eh? im not exactly sure if i said anything about revenge.

  • @Fantasylover4life who are you? You in NO way represent any native in my community or that I haveEVER met. To go around bragging about your connection with Sitting Bull then know nothing of our traditions is by far WORSE than whites attempting (poorly) to explain our traditions and ways. IF you are who you say you are you should be ashamed at the nonsense you have posted... as far as I can see you are some silly white kid bored at home trying to be what you are not.

  • @mybuddyrobin

I don't need to represent Lakota Sioux just to be it. I wouldn't so i was bragging. Like i said, This Dance isn't sacred like its Supose to be anymore. I don't see how stupid people such as yourself say what a person Is and Isn't. Unless you gave birth to the kid, sure i can see that. But saying what Im Not and Am when im not your kid? Wow, thats gotta be stupid. And as far as being Ashamed, Im not. Who are you to even tell me what i am when im not even your bastard kid?

  • @Fantasylover4life You came off in an uneasy way to a lot of people. Your sitting here bragging about being someones "6th generation grand-daughter" when thats completely out of character. U talk about the sun dance not being sacred but maybe u see it that way because you're around people just like yourself. Its still sacred to a lot of us it depends on how you see it.

  • @mybuddyrobin I completely agree.

  • Thank you for sharing. It provided with an authentic view of the Sun Dance

  • @63tez , If i get 500 thumbs down i will remove this clip, but i think People should know and learn from the bad things done in history, from both side's

    colin

  • @col1n1234

Those who fail to learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.

  • not this fake was that supposed to be sitting bull? cause he looks like a pure white man plus u wasnt supposed to show the sundance off like that!

  • @63tez

I saw this on TV, I don’t Know if this is the Real Dance as The clip show's so little ? But It Link's to a Vision I had, this why I posted it.

    colin

  • @col1n1234 still u wasnt supposed to show the sundance on video. its a sacred dance.

  • @63tez This short clip is a full Sundance? I have been told many thing's, why would people who know let this be filmed, I believe Ron His Horse has a truth to be told.

I am sorry to upset you.

I hope you can forgive me.

People should know that there is a link to the spirit world, Be they good or bad spirits, This I know there are and when they contact us it is there choice. One thing I believe is God our Creator , Created all and all have free will.

    colin

  • does any one know how I can buy this video in it's full or even a name so I can get the whole set, I would really appreciate. let me know
