    gkocc

  • I'm trying to learn this song by ear to play on my violin for my grandma when i see her again...which might b a while :/ she lives in camobdia n i live in usa...

  • indeed it is amazing to hear such good khmer music. It amazes me how good he sings and to think that there wasnt really any voice enhancers or anything of that sort back then. Long live his music.

  • nembeone

  • I am from Laos but I love kmer music.Myself, Kmer use to be the most powerful in the past. I believe that Kmer will be come back to be power again in South East Asia.

  • @bon123456ful Aw Kung, yes khmer and laos are good friends. And im glad Laos actually like the legendary Sin Sisamouth.

  • @jacktsang05 That's right, Khmer and Laos are good friends and will always remain that way!

  • I gotta tell these young teenage Cambodians to listen to music like this, do not throw it away, it is supposed to be a gift of your predecessors, a proud heritage. Please don't do what those vietnamese idiots are doing to South Vietnamese Goldern Era music currently and say it is old and boring becuase.... TRUST ME... IT ISN'T AND IT IS GREAT!!! Furthermore, in terms of arts, the oldies are always the best :) TY for posting this and opening my scope of south-east asian music.

  • This is amazing! Vietnam had a golden era of music in the 50-70's too during the reign of Democratic Republic of Vietnam. Now the communists have banned it and degrade it, I hope it is not so in Cambodia becuase this is great. We had an artist like this great man also, he is called HUNG CUONG and was an actor and singer too. Good luck to oldie golden Cambodian and Vietnamese music. :)

  • Un jour je retournerai de ma naissance...

  • the first time i heard this song at a wedding reception i knew right away this is a great song even though i didnt understand a word of it. Another one is something siemriep.thanks for uploading these songs

  • amazing! this sounds just like it came straight out from a vinyl..

  • @007savan1 ..wow great classic song and it still has that original sound, .. u can even hear the lil cracks through the song like vinyl..thanks!!

  • Champa Battambang was a great romantic Khmer film rose in the 60s, I was a little boy and I still have excellent memories of this particular movie and other Khmers and Thai films. You are a young generation like to discover Khmer cinemas. Champa Battambang, the song depicting where he was on a train heading back to Phnom Penh. Nop Nem spent years doing work at Battambang and met a very beautiful lady Kim Nova in Battambang.

  • Cambodian oldies sound really good even though I can't understand a word he's saying.

  • @rudiherold84 i would translate it for you but don't have the time, maybe you should learn khmer :)...

  • such a beautiful song. makes me want to cry. lok puh Samouth sings from his heart and it touches our soul...

  • Thanks for sharing...Love this song very much!!!=] Oldies Rock!!!

  • For those of you who love sin sisamouth. Please join me in building a memorial for him, pen ron and ros sreysothea. Their musics touched and enrich our souls. We should pay our tribute to them.

  • Wow, just discovered this song, 10th time listening to it today. I wonder if Madonna was "inspired" by this song for "Take a Bow". Thanks for posting!!

  • RIP Sinn Sisamouth , your soul is just beatiful !!!!!!

  • can some body post up the lyrics for this song in like Cambodian English style plz

  • Ouh battambang bondol chit ery ....!

  • Comment removed

  • Sinn Sisamouth is always great talent, forever.

Human being recognizes theirown errors and reacts oftenly late, very late, and too late.

  • ***************!!!!!!.....This song & Cham peiy siem riep take me back to the past , I used to hear all my brothers & sisters sing all the time even my mom ...we were one of the happy family until then..............................I ' m sure all Cambodian people would truly know why ? & I ' m not alone !!! Sad , very sad ! all that left is " IF " ......now only the memories would go on ((((( Thank U Darren 4 posting this wonderful song !

  • I don't understand the lyrics, but i like this song; this is very good.

  • Wow such a great song. I use to think that listening to Cambodian music was so lame. After hearing Sin Sisamouth, Ros Sereysothea, and Pan Ron, I haven't been able to get enough of listening to their songs. It also gives me a great opportunity to expose my children to the Khmer culture since they're half Khmer/half Filipino. My children enjoy the music just as much as I do even if they don't quite understand the lyrics.

  • damn........this is a good song. im not crying, but i can feel tears in my eyes, but they're not going out. anybody know what i mean?

  • @1992lance haha,same here man...

  • @reignman562 idk y, but i hear one of the songs of sinn sisimouth, i cant help but think of jr seau. haha. do you know who he is? if not, type his name in on youtube.

  • @1992lance Haha jr seau the football player?and sorry for the late reply!

  • @reignman562 solo jr there is. it's oh oh yea yea that reminds me of him. ur opinion on that?

  • @1992lance why the heck would this remind you of jr seau ahahha didnt he ritire anyways lol

  • one word, classic :)

  • melts my heart to the core

  • @purzheen I completely agree. I believe the word we are looking for is "soul" he has soulfulness that new Khmer songs are lacking these days. This sound is purely Cambodian and most modern Khmer songs are mimicking songs from other countries that do not possess the same depth. :(

  • my hometown and birth place too, alot of khmer came from that providence, because it one of the place people are able to refuge from.

  • NOSTALGIE!!!! BRAVO

  • the 1963/4 song that crowned Sin Sisamouth as the undisputed king of Khmer music. bar none!

  • Battambang is my birth place. I can see this town is very special and has inspired so many artists lol. And btw, Battambang produces the finest singers (Ros Sereysothea, Im Sonserm, Houy Meas);

  • me too.this song ,I used to listen and sing along since I was little.

  • Merci pour cette vidéo qui me rappelle mon enfance et ma jeunesse perdues.

    BRAVO !

  • Oh King Sinn Si Samouth...Your voice so touch my spirit. No body can not sing this song better than u.

  • @chantha122 What a beautiful song!!!

    what is it about?

  • Comment removed

  • It is my hometown, Battambang. My favorite song!

  • Romantically nostalgic!

  • love this song..do u know where I can download it?

  • download Youtube Downloader, then convert to mp3.

  • Thank you for posting this video. I still remember this song when I was in high school in Laos at that time.

  • look Sin Sisamouth's voice has so much depth to it. When I try to listen to modern Khmer singers, it sounds to me like they're singing bad karaoke. I believe the talent is still out there, but I just don't hear it. Sisamouth's songs are like a piece of fine art; the modern singers' songs are like paint-by-numbers art. They should study Sisamouth's sound more.

  • @purzheen old khmer music is real, new khmer music is something else, all about looks

  • @purzheen

  • This was the song that I used to sing as I, and a few of my childhood friends, strolled idly along the Porchentong Airport runway. I was just about nine then. My dad was an accountant for the Cambodian Air Force, whose base was, and still is, adjacent to the present Porchentong International Airport. I knew the area very well. What a nostalgic memory listening to this song. Yes, the talent is out there. I hope someday soon you will get to hear such similar voice and hidden talent.

  • I can play this on saxophone!

    this song's awesome!

  • my dad loves this song. Even tho he is not from battambong, hes from Phnom Penh and he always sings it to my mom.

  • haha thats HELLA romantic and cute ^_^

  • anyone know where i can download all these oldies??

  • such a beautiful song! khmer songs always remind me who i am.

  • How could anyone so heartless and kill such a talented and gifted treasure of the country. I hate communists !

  • guitrich,

the khmer rouge werent communists. they were mass-murderers of their very own people. 4 them, besides murderous barbaric atrocious etc etc, there's shameless. why shameless?? bcoz they committed a genocide against their very own people & bcoz no1 else in the world history, be it hitler or mussolini or stalin or mao tse tung or ho chi minh, ever committed a genocide against his/her own people.

  • they held communist beliefs, alongside being mass murders

  • kdamsrai,

(i think you mean "khdarm sreh. delicious!! d'ohh!! ok ok just kiddin'!!)

communist doctrine aint tell any1 2 commit a genocide against his/her own people.

the khmer rouge were full of hatred. they hated the cambodian people so much that they seemed 2b joyful & even proud of indiscriminately mass-murderin' them.

killin' innocent people became their unconcernin' routine. their then killin' of innocent peopel were like your now goin' 2 work. they were unspeakably barbaric.

  • Your quite an activist pkving

  • thank you tykachheng.

  • @guitrich

I agree with you. Kill humankind talent for nothing.

  • very good song!thanks to post it!

  • this song makes me tear up :(

  • i just got goosebumps listennig to this version

  • Sour sdei chnam thmei ! This song does give me goosebumps.

  • well well, hear it again, even "pi ruous chiang pi mun", d'ohh!!

this must be 1 of the all-time best 10 cambodian songs.

ok ok, hard 2 say, bcoz each of 100's of samouth's songs is described by different people as their "best" or "most favorite".

however, this 1 has a special place in cambodians' hearts bcoz it's 1 of samouth's early hits.

  • How do I get a CD or MP3 of this song. I grew up listening to this song on my father's record player. I haven't heard it in 35 years. I miss this song.

  • message me your email and I will send it to you. Sour sdey Chnam Tmai !

  • i have the song so send me a message.

  • Thank you very much! I really enjoy it!

  • you're welcome

  • How can someone so heartless kill someone so beautiful?

  • This song is the epitome of the Khmer "douceur de vivre" before tragedy started.

Such a lovely song I would like to dedicate to Aune Kampot

  • Don't know why, this song makes me want to cry!

  • This song is beautiful, I love Sin Sisamuth <<3
