Nice to use this shelved Pontiac design from a few years ago. 18K target price for standard FWD ECO models. 2900lbs for FWD and no more than 3100lbs for AWD trims. Bump the Camaro v6 up to a 3.8L making 330+ and 6.2L Ls3 up to 450hp. Make a 31k AWD 140s SS trim with Twin scrolled turbo Ecotec making 300hp or Turbo 3.5L v6 making 360hp/360tq for 31k. Enough RWD cars are on the market since this is an affordable exotic make it AWD with removable Targa top like the Vette, Supra, Del sol etc.

@thunderlock110 it's not so much the power but the power to weight ratio that makes it fun. Original miata is just about 120bhp, as were the legendary AE86 Corolla. Even the new FR-S isn't so much on power. The weight and its distribution, the drive wheel and chassis tuning are fundamental. Having FWD or RWD on this car can be the difference between a sports car vs. a pretentious coupe. It'd be refreshing to have Chevy/GM make a real driver's car at this price range, for a change.

@pedro125252 that genesis starts at almost 30k and goes up to over 30k, at that price range the mustang gt will shit all over the genesis. In the lower 20k range a 200+hp light weight car is great. Also the ft86 is a much better handling car than the genesis, being much lighter and having a low CG with its boxer engine. The ft86 is also very boost tolerant and if you care about stats the mustang v6 with a procharger and full exhaust can push almost 550hp for around 30k.

@pedro125252 why are you comparing the GT to a sedan? the 5.0 will destroy the sedan and they will not put the 5.0 hyundai engine in a genesis coupe. The 2011 mustang v6 will destroy a genesis v6 if supercharged, and a v6 mustang supercharged costs about the same as a genesis v6. Also I was saying that the 140 and 130 should have bigger engines, like the camaro 3.6 v6. The 130R looks better than the genesis imo, the 130r looks like a 1m but even better.
