Condensers pick up nearly everything, chesters voice was quieter because he reached his arm out, but didnt turn the mic away.

LP has their shows recorded and sold in a DSP (digital souvenir package).

When Chester sang New Divide at this show, he messed up during the first chrous. Then during this chorus as you can see in the video, he let the crowd sing that line as kind of a "haha YOU guys do it so I don't mess up!" silly thing.

But LP's mixer Pooch decided to copy/paste a line from the previous chorus and stick it there. This video is showing that.

I already said what happened. LP records the audio of their shows and professionally mixes them to release. they fix mistakes in them. in this show, the engineers thought chester screwed up (but he was just letting the crowd sing) so they fixed it in the audio by pasting in a line from another show. no the crowd wasn't silent. crowd was loud as hell lol, I was there. you can't hear the crowd much in-song on these audio releases. the taper filmed the show in HD video.

Professional microphones like Chester's (unidirectional microphones) are designed to pick up sound straight from the source. The pickup pattern is straight to the target, this eliminates all background noise. Chester's voice should have not been that clear on the part where he was pointing the mic at the crowd.
