I bought this game solely for evil ryu and I've been having fun. The first ok combo I've discovered on my own is jMK-MP-HP but I feel like I should be able to do more after the HP but for some reason nothing seems to work. I'm having a lot of trouble with the timing of things in this game. it's much different from what I'm used to in other games.
@berserkchip lol. If you're like me, you probably played a lot of Tekken (which isn't as strict with timing). But I plan to get AE in the next couple of days. Maybe my experience w/ Third Strike will help a bit.
You should do an ultra two corner combo. You can tatsu into shoryu, cancel, backdash, and do ultra two. You get all the hits without full animation though. Nice damage for simple combos involving this.

@DoomJFAC the corner "loop" goes like this (exactly): s.hp x hcf+mk, cr.mp (plink this) x lp fireball FADC repeat
What's essential in the combo is that only hard punch or standing medium punch (close) links to hcf+mk and that you can link hcf+mk to crouching medium punch or light punch. Also, what to think about is that hcf+mk is safe on block (and it's pretty fast) thus it's also available for BnB combos (but risky, don't overuse hcf+mk).

i'm really looking for some footage of E. Ryu comboing st lp (far) --> cr fr / sweep.
I've linked the cr fr twice in training mode and the sweep only once.
My friend also claims to have linked cr hp from hcf +mk, i haven't been able to do it and I i'm for the most part use to one frame links
