  • what are they talking about, this is one of the most brilliant commercials ive ever seen

  • Please, this as opposed to a drinking parent who may be a continual pain for the length of their childhood? Yes, smoking and drinking are individual choices but I would imagine the number of abuse cases, missed appointments, ruined recreational time and just general embarrassment would have a much higher association with drinking than smoking.

Drinkers are not intentionally made to feel as small as smokers yet "second hand alcohol" is a little harder to protect your kids from.

  • So sad :(

  • mg..... I welled up when I saw that.

  • The only bad thing about this commercial is how they got the kid to cry... cause that aint acting.

  • Or if you smoke you could just not have kids. I'd call that a win win. Kids suck.

  • Fuck this commercial. Seriously, even as both a mother and nonsmoker I find this pretty offensive~ play the guilt card when we all know how guilty the industry is of making dam sure their crap is addictive as hell. Great waste of money.

  • @fLiPpAntMisSCreanT Everybody has the choice of walking away and not being stupid enough to start in the first place. I don't know what you're talking about. I completely blame the smoker. No doubt about it.

  • @fLiPpAntMisSCreanT It's like blaming the gun company for a the crime of a murderer. Would you still use the same argument?

  • Hey kid, now nobody's going to tell you what to do! No more homework for you!

  • Whoa there, caught me off guard. :'[ I loved it <3 What a great commercial... If I still smoked, I'd quit once I saw that! O_O' Maybe the US should try this approach....

  • this was to me a form of child abuse. You can make your point other ways besides making a poor little boy cry needlessly, scareing the crap out of him, he was what? 3-4 years old? Despicalble.

  • I heard it was because the director told the kid that his real mother left him for ever.

  • I can't believe some states in Australia banned this, yes its very strong but if this doesn't make parents stop smoking I don't know what will,

  • This is also one of the saddest commericals that I have ever seen. If the mother had been allowed to smoke where and when she wanted, this child would have been fine. But because the world is full of paranoid idiotic busybodies, we are all subject to their innane beliefs. they are so scared of death that they are afraid to live.

  • It take a long time for someone to kill over from smoking anyway, the kid will be fine.

  • Poor baby! I just wanted to run up to him give him a hug and tell him that everything is gonna be okey :'(

  • so sad :(

  • It's controversial because people hate hearing the TRUTH. >_>

  • funniest commerical ever

  • @brownboyskin you're going to hell.

  • @Fr3ddyKrgr yea well it could be worse i could be black or have children i mean look at this a child is crying because his ma is havin a smoke hey why not stop being a pussy and deal with it its a little thing called life so live it

  • @brownboyskin you are an idiot really honestly a moron

  • @jpirard why am i an idiot what gives you the right to tell people to stop smoking if i remember correctly when i woke up it was still america god damn it you cant force your opinion on other people just because you dont like something and exposing children to get your point across is more sinister than blowing smoke in a babys face

  • People who smoke are idiots

  • Love how he cries and everyone just continues their day. Whats more messed up, the smoking mother or the hundreds of people who don't stop to help a crying child?

  • @AmericaSleeps Most people nowadays won't stop to comfort a crying child for fear of being labeled a paedo :(

  • Statistic: 100% of non-smokers die!

  • @cottonwhiskersuk

    Statistic: REPEAT ... 100% of NON-smokers Die!!

This AD is hateful and MISOGYNIST! (Since MOST SMOKERS are WOMEN!!!)

Just take a look at who is standing outside the door of office buildings!

But if you use tobacco - you have NO PROTECTION as a Minority Group!

SEGREGATION and HATE MONGERING are all "Fair Game" to the Anti Crowd who make beaucoup bucks promulgating garbage like this.

THANKS Robert Wood Johnson - Licensee of NONTAXED Nicorette & Nicoderm!

  • @cottonwhiskersuk Statistic: 100% of smokers die sooner!

  • @dingoguy100 Only 1/3 of smokers die of a smoking-related illness, so no.

  • @NyBob85 everybody dies gaytard.. 100% of smokers die sooner! they go outside smoke their crap and kill away most of their life thats what all smokers do!

  • @dingoguy100 As I said, only one-third of smokers die of a smoking-related illness. That would be 33.3% Clearly the public school system has utterly failed America's youth, as both your reading comprehension and math skills need work. Either that or you spend more time making pointless faggy videos than studying.

  • @NyBob85 Dude by the looks of ur youtube channel looks like your the fag your 24 and u have no videos and you troll on others videos, and your a yankees fan (yakees=Gaytard) smokers are retards and it doesn't have to be a smoke related illness but it's a FACT that smokers increase the chances of other illnesses for example it causes breathing problems which can lead to other fatal problems gaywad!

  • Comment removed

  • @NyBob85 Dude by the looks of your channel your a stupid 24 yr old, yankee's fan that has no videos and likes to start arguments on youtube and i don't talk to gay retards like you..it's a fact that smoking leads to lung, liver, and brain problems just read the back of your cigerette box gaywad!

  • @dingoguy100 Gaytard, gaywad....very imaginative insults. You can't even write a coherent sentence. Our country really is doomed if retards like you are the future of America. Hopefully as you age you'll learn that one doesn't become more free by depriving others of their freedoms. Although I suppose if our fascist government can't understand the concept some autistic 15-year-old on YouTube won't.

Your videos suck, by the way. Find a new way to kill time. Maybe smoking.

  • @NyBob85 I think it would be best to end this conversation because it's going nowhere, which is usally the outcome with freaks like you. you obviously don't have any idea what your talking about but i can't blame you..Your a yankee. according to most of my viewers love my videos (yo mama) and a hateful comment by a drugee isn't going to change anything! I would tell u to find a better way to waste your time but you'll be dead soon enough, just keep smoking..GO RANGERS

  • @cottonwhiskersuk 100% of people die.

  • @cottonwhiskersuk Statistic: You have a 100% greater chance of dying if you smoke

  • @Sim2moviemaker Surely you must mean a 100% greater chance of dying prematurely? It sounds silly otherwise.

  • this is one of the saddest commercials i have ever seen :(

  • @LanaNo1 it certainly does get its point across ... thanks for taking the time to comment

  • my sentiments exactly

  • well this commercial war really sad and almost made me cry

  • pedophiles harvest time

  • nuff said. smoking isnt good for anybody.

  • Wow sad!

  • How is that a controversial commercial? It's really good and effective. Poor fella.

  • @01mclaren It was considered controversial because the kid really was separated from his mother without any prior warning. Apparently his reactions are REAL.

  • @01mclaren because the point could be made without frightening a little by, that's why!

  • Now that'll get you to stop smoking!

  • @RadioactiveQwarp thanks for contributing to the dialogue.

  • Wow I didn't expect that. My mom died six months ago from smoking. Fuck.

  • @PrivatePrinny117 very sorry to hear that.

  • hey privateprinny sorry about your mom. i lost mine too not long ago. God bless you

  • @PrivatePrinny117 Yes, sorry to hear that, let's hope this may save others, huh

  • wow.

    gets the message across

  • @kosherdillpickle i believe so as well. thanks for your comment.

  • the kid will probably smoke lol

  • hmmm..i think this commercial just made me want to smoke 2 in a row out of spite : )

  • these type of commercials r definitely designed as a "call 2 action" but i think they intended the other direction. haha.

on a serious note, currently watchin my brother (lifetim non-smoker) endure chemo/radiation treatment lung/throat stage4 cancer & w/o a doubt, it's the hardest trial on our family/friends. unfortunately, 2nd-hand smoke from college roommates & co-workers appears to be the origin. 2 top it off, he's got a kid about the same age so it truly hits home w/ us. wish u all the best

  • Oh come on, we've all been kids and our parents all played trick on us. Next minute she comes up like, "Ha! Here I am!" He laughs, she laughs, and he just thinks next time he'll be the one who gets her! This had the same psychological effect as your parent hiding behind the door to scare you...

  • thanks for contributing to the discussion. if this commercial's message affected one person, it was worth it. thanks again for your comments.

  • I think this commercial is brilliant. If I smoked and then saw this I'd throw my pack it the bin.

The company who filmed this came out and said that there was a child psychologist there at all time who was able to say if this was traumatising or not. Which it isn't because tons of kids have been seperated from their parents for minutes over the centuries and they didn't grow up to be completely traumatised

  • great comments. ultimately comes down to benefit versus downside. yes, the child may have been scared, but 10, 20, 30+ years from now, he'll be able to say, thanks for including me in the overall longterm message. thanks again for taking the time to comment.

  • pomg fuck u all i hate now that 3 year old kid is going to tramataised for the year fuck u all

  • BS commercial why would you do this to someone u freakin jerks ... that poor kid should'nt've had to go through that ... this commercial is ridiculous and for the australian company that filmed it .. you should feel freakin sorry.

  • so sad!!!! :'(

  • that kid was a badass actor

  • yah that kid was good.

  • is this because you smoke??.....how sad..

  • This is controversial? Whatever, people need to grow up.

  • it's controversial because the little boy was actually crying, which suggests that the film crew did something to him to make him cry.

  • Thanks IslandScene for clearing it up. Recently saw an interview w/ the Australian Ad Company Rep & you can remove "suggests the film crew did something" -- she confirmed they removed mom from the scene for a "brief moment" but her son was never in any danger. She kept deflecting "he is just an amazing little actor"

2 points. The crew knew he wasn't in danger, but the little boy didn't so her arguement is disgarded. That was real stress displayed. 2ndly, those tears may save countless lives.

  • @chekur that little boy was a VICTIM
