  • Bruce Lee's side kicks were also a huge weapon. Unfortunatelly not many MMA fighters have them in their repertoir.

  • Joe Rogan would be proud

  • Comment removed

  • GSP is the greatest ww thats fact

  • Cung Le pro, i love you

  • im sorry to say but there was no power to your kicks, it looked like tapi tapi, only used to set up stronger techniques.

  • cung le, u disappointed me when you lost to silvaaaaaa. it was in your hometown of SAN JOSE!!

CUNG LE, I AM DISSAPOINT!! FUCK MOVIES, THEY GET YOU NO WHERE!!! WHO WOULD BUY MOVIES FROM A LOSER?!?!?!?

  • cung le, u disappointed me when you lost to silvaaaaaa. it was in your hometown of SAN JOSE!!

CUNG LE, I AM DISSAPOINT!! FUCK MOVIES, THEY GET YOU NO WHERE!!! WHO

  • cung le and sanshou is best

  • joe boxer cancer

  • THAT KICK LOOKED WEAK

  • the other dude has horrible technikque, roudn kick without pivioting, however CUNG LEE IS AWESOME!

  • He kicks very well, frank shamrock is best

  • @FloridaGar94 He kicks very well, he is using a fast low round kick to the leg so no need to pivot too much. Frank shamrock and cung le both are best warriors

  • Sidekick is crazy and best

  • The slide step side kick. Very versatile kick. You can do a lot of setups from the slide step.

  • By the way, I have seen Cung Le at a Sanshou full contact match and at the time he has not improved. He has gotten a lot better on his kicks. However, he's still winded. He's known for his scissor kicks take down. If he focus a lot on Kung Fu cleaner techniques then he would be more efficient. Cung Le claimed he learned Muay Thai but in reality he didn't. His moves comes from Sandou or Sanshou. Modern Wu Shu fighting art. He never fought the Chinese Military that was there and lucky he didn't.

  • All these stupid MMA wannabes here posting thinking grappling is the best all because of Hoyce Gracie are really dumb. All the Gracies family were beaten and messed up when they stepped into K1. Hoyce wanted to learn Muay Thai because his style was limited and he realized that he was getting his ass wooped by real Karate and Muay Thai Fighters.

  • @TheHailstorm77 Royce * Gracie bro, and btw you have to know grappling in some way, none of the gracies were beaten by pure strikers, but by really good grapplers, its part of the game off MMA, you have to know everything or else its just kick boxing, and btw Rickson never lost a fight.

  • @sharkfinnigan Do me a favor, go look at all the K1 fights that Hoyce Gracie and Royce Gracie. Or whatever Gracie you want to call them. He got beat up by a Karate fighter not a grappler. Although the Karate fighter knew how to grapple because Jiujitsu is actually in Judo and Karate, he got owned. I saw on youtube that Hoyce started to learn kicking and punching. Point is they suck and they got owned. Stop watching all this hype of UFC and Pride. Real fighters are underground.

  • @TheHailstorm77 do me a favor and go learn something before you talk about it like your a pro, maybe even train a tiny bit, if your talking about Sakuraba beating Royce then in that case he was a catch wrester not a "karate guy" thats called a Karateka btw, and if your talking about Yoshida then he was an olympic calibur judo player, guess what where all the bjj techniques came from? thats right Judo, its the same thing,,, grappling.

  • @sharkfinnigan Thanks for posting the truth and knowing what you're typing about. I'm likely not the only one who appreciates it.

  • @xjxm no problem brother, love and respect

  • @TheHailstorm77 not underlying the importance or effectiveness of striking, its a huge part of the sport, and more so now days than in the early days, but to think that any fighter these days could be very successful without being well rounded then thats pretty ignorant, even in the "underground" lol

  • @sharkfinnigan Actually Rickson did lose a fight in 1993 against Ron Tripp by total victory via Uchi Mata in 45 seconds

  • @TheObelix876 was it a MMA match? or a judo or bjj match? I was talking about MMA, but now that you say it i think i have seen a video of him getting thrown

  • @sharkfinnigan im sure it wasn't a mma match since he didnt lose any i believe judo but could be BJJ aswell

  • @sharkfinnigan thats true but most of the gracie modified the rules for some fights and if i recall most of them are getting knockout in most of their fights by guys who are not so good strikers example (roger gracie vs mo lawal , royce Gracie vs matt hughes cesar gracie vs frank shamrock) and none of them have faced true high level strikers in mma

  • @LION0410 matt hughes on of the best wrestlers in mma history, great grappler royce couldnt play his game with them, hughes forced him to stay on his feet where he had the advantage, mo lawal did ktfo of Roger Gracie, but then again he has done that to some pretty good strikers and some pretty good grapplers, brute strength def has its place in mma lol and once again frank shamrock was no slouch on the ground, good wrestlers are hell for a lot of bjj guys thats everyone is mixing it all together

  • @sharkfinnigan True so watcha think about the GSP Diaz matchup cause i think Diaz will beat condit im fan of carlos but him and nick hac\ve kkinda similar stiles only nick is a better puncher and carlos relies more on his kicks and both are great on the ground

  • @LION0410 its hard to bet against GSP or Diaz, its a great style match up for mma fans "but hardly means it will be an exciting fight to watch" Diaz has a DANGEROUS gaurd and GSP might not be able to be as comfortable with the lay and pray game, technically superb jits agains overwhealming wrestling is always enjoyable for me to watch, and on the feet Diaz has sharp sharp boxing but GSP packs a little more of a whallop but might not be as clean of a striker, been waiting for this fight a while

  • @sharkfinnigan lol... royce gracie was like 40 when he fought matt hughes...... dumbfuck

  • @Raffael900me and plenty of mixed martial artists have had a lot of sucsess into their 40's correct me if im wrong? nothing agains Gracie, im a huge fan, but Matt Hughes would have probably beat him in his prime, he had too much athletisism and technique and not to mention was a bigger welter weight....... dumb fuck

  • @sharkfinnigan you are wrong twatface, 40 is many mma fighters retiring age every fighter is different royce gracie would have toyed with matt hughes if he was younger

  • @sharkfinnigan like gracie hunter XD ftw!

  • @sharkfinnigan rickson never fought matt huges the gracie killer..lol

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 Sakuraba is the gracie killer, not matt hughes. Saku destrotd all the gracies in pride.

  • @JUKEBOXX1990 destroyed

  • @cwill2410 huges is also and huges would beat rickson

  • @sharkfinnigan just a note i am i massive hickson fan, but if you want to get tech under unknown rules to him hickson lost against a sambo fighter called ron tripp in 1993. Hickson never knew that in sambo a win can be achieved by uchi mata a form of judo throw, and by him landing on the mat ron tripp anounced himself the winner in 45 secs. Hickson was under the impression as all his other fights, the winner was determined by knockout or tap.

  • @sillysam00 oh thanks dude, that's really cool actually, makes me like sambo a little more , yeah and Rickson is a beast i agree

  • If Bill the Super Foot and Benny the Jet was at this moment, all these MMA practitioners or fighters would be scared shitless. Fighters that are in real full contact matches know the real deal. This grappling is useful but is not all around and the so called traditional styles that UFC claims don't work are proven wrong. UFC = Underwear Fighting Champions. Over rated. When Hoyce went to K1 fighting. He got beat up by Karate and Muay Thai fighters, that's why he had learn Muay Thai.

  • I agree with ItheSwick. These so called MMA fighters or practitioners claimed that grappling is the best until Cung Le brought in side kicks, round house kicks and hook kicks and spinning roudhouse kicks. They say these type of kicks don't work that's because they never met any fighter that has used it on them. Until fighters like Cung and the infamous Lyota who did a classic front snap kick that's found in all Kung Fu styles and Karate knocked out Randy.

  • 1. the "fake side kick" wasn't there. the other guy mistook the step for a kick that wasn't there.

    2. no hook kick. how do you possibly mistake a round kick for a hook kick -.-

  • There was no hook kick wtf were you talking about

  • Rofl at all the MMA practitioners who think they're hot shit in the comments... Nobody gives a fuck what you've studied or how long you've studied it. Someone always knows more, and there's at least a million people in this world who could knock you on your ass with little to no effort.

Plus for all we know you're 13 years old with a mental disorder and think the physical therapy you're required to attend is MMA. Who knows.

  • thumbs up if jo bonten sent you!

  • @jiminycricket69 that's what I am saying , they are each one individual style, not a mixed style...like that one ignorant person I was responding to was trying to imply. Sorry if I put it in a way that caused confusion.

  • if u fake a punch then side kick the leg while the guy is going backward u can break his legs if u time it right

  • see the difference is bruce lee would make them fly wit his side kicks this cunts r pussy

  • @MrBigtube17 Agreed

  • @MrBigtube17 Bruce Lee was an actor. He did little to no real competitive fighting.

  • @SCROGY Got into street fights, and people who have been hit with his sidekick, including Chuck Norris and good other people say it's like getting hit by a truck. He is a martial artist first and an actor second. Although he wasn't a competitive fighter, his abilities are well documented. So he's not an actor that relies on wires and special effects in that sense.

  • @wonphi Where's your evidence?

  • @SCROGY You kidding me? he's done tons of demos in front of large crowds, as well as met with famous karate champions like Joe Lewis and Chuck Norris who have stated that in interviews. Not to mention, he sparred with a black belt and dominated in his early demos when he was just around 24 years old at long beach in front of thousands (that impressed tv producers to cast him as Kato.) You know nothing about Bruce yet you want to tell people about who he is? that he was just an actor? hmm

  • @wonphi I know nothing? I know what you say is based on the words of the friends of a dead man. You think they are going to shit talk him now? Or build up his legend (Linda Lee was a WELL KNOWN bullshitter when talking of her dead husbands exploits). The man did very little in the ring. I have probably fought more tournaments than Bruce Lee did. And there are just as many of my fights commited to video. And emos don't make you a skilled fighter. Getting in the ring does.

  • @SCROGY yes you do know nothing. Those people who have credability like Gene Lebelle, and joe Lewis have no reason to praise Bruce, especially when he's dead, yet in conventions when asked about him, they continue to do so with high respect. Many MMA fighters talk highly of Bruce as well. Like Anderson Silva says, "Bruce Lee is the best." they have no reason to say that, but they choose to say it. I know people like you, it's easy to just sit there and hate, thinking you're the man. lol

  • @wonphi You also see Anderson saying he learned that front kick from Steven Seagal? That is a JOKE in Brazil dude. You just don't get it. And the funny part is that Seagal doesn't even realise he's being made into this joke of an icon. It's like the big thing now to say it but Seagl doesn't even get it. And I have been training in BJJ for ten years so I don't need to be told about Judo/BJJ, I know what they are and where they come from. Thank you.

  • @SCROGY: lol so Silva and Machida are actually laughing at his ass? lol I wondered what the deal was with those kicks, didn't know what to believe..

  • @SCROGY I know a lot about him because I researched it, and the main things I found are:

    1) His fans are full of crap

    2) Most of what his friends say is said to boost his legend because he's dead now

    3) There is almost ZERO evidence of him competeing

    4) Linda Lee was totally full of crap when giving details of his fight with WJM

    5) Linda Lee was all but discredited because she gave conflicting testimony of the fight

    6) You have provided little to no evidence that what you say is true.

  • @SCROGY Anywho, I don't need to waste my time with you. I have nothing to prove to a stranger like yourself. If you think you are an amazing fighter? A OK, go a head and do that. lol

    Bye.

  • @wonphi Never said I was. I just said I have probably competed more than BL. And based on the existing evidence it's more than likely true.

  • @SCROGY lmfao without the ONLY FIGHTER EVER bruce lee you and me both would not comment on this video now because the ufc would not exist, we both would not be interessted in MA, joe rogan wasn't famous & cung lee would probably not fight.

Martial Arts movies were fantasy movies before bruce, so yeah, he was an actor. but only to tell the people they don't have a fucking clue about fighting.

look for bas rutten about bruce lee, he points that out in other words.

  • @qubiq3 Ummmm, no because the Gracies were practicing Jiu Jitsu, and Newaza in Judo existed LONG before Bruce was even born. He helped popularize MA in the 70's for sure, but MMA would have eventually found it's way into the publics eye because it was well established in Brazil even before Bruse was born (Vale Tudo). And his exploits were grossly exaggerated by Linda 9his wife) and his friends. They seem to have done this to boost his legend while the unbiased accounts do not agree.

  • @SCROGY Gracies & Vale Tudo existed before but how popular? Lots of great Masters did what they did not related to Bruce. But the development from the 80's till this day was strongly influenced by TV. Nobody knew Jackie Chan, JC van Damme, Chuck Norris, Donny Ye, nothing which lead to modern MA Movies. And without movies, how many people would be interessted in MA at all?

It's speculation what would have happened without Bruce. Still a lot of icons of the sport said they are influenced by Bruce

  • @SCROGY Jiu Jitsu, and Judo are 1 style, not mixed style. Bruce was the guy (becuase of his popularity and movies) to promote learning all aspects of fighting, Ground, striking, grappling, as well as incorporating cross training and many other factors into martial arts. Nothing is more widespread than the media, and when it comes to that Bruce was king in terms of martial arts media, which spread like wild fire. Little fight organizations and matches don't spread like media.

  • @wonphi I never said they were I just mentioned them in the same sentence. Bruce's training was questionable and his strength was below average for his size. His squat numbers were pathetic and most of the things he did that people oooh and ahhh about were little more than parlour tricks. As far as the media I never claimed he didn't help popularize MA. But if he didn't someone else would have. That's a fact.

  • @wonphi wtf are u talking about one style? judo focuses on throws while jitsu focuses on submissions via chock and limb snapping. also to the guys who dont know who joe is, i assume joe rogan promoted this video to give lee some exposure to those who have only watched UFC and WEC promotions.

ALSO i expected Lee to put Wandy Silva into retirement last month but i was wrong. either way, Lee is the real deal and i admire him utilizing the side kick variations that no one else seems to use

  • Just educating you. You passed well done. BJJ Wrestling and Muay Thai is a good mix.

TKD is the worst art to ever grace the ring. Looks cool and flashy and dangerous to the untrained eye but its weak ineffective and gets you smashed in son.

  • Taekwondo sidekick...not San Shou. When are people going to learn that his kicks are from his blackbelt in Taekwondo. Just coz he competed in San Shou & Wushu dont mean thats where his kicks came from. I got a blackbelt in TKD & compete in kickboxing, that does NOT mean my kicks are kickboxing lol. He is a black belt in TAEKWONDO and kicks are PURE TAEKWONDO. He also competed in kickboxing, so why cant his kicks be kickboxing? why San Shou? lol Get this in ur heads, CUNG LE IS TAEKWONDO!!!!!!!!

  • That's what I love about UFC. U can bring everything that u've learnt from karate, judo to Brazilian Jujitsu and test ur skills against each other to see who are the best.

  • Cung Le

  • So good to see guys like Cung & Machida are in the UFC now!

  • I didn't see a fake side kick cause he didn't chamber for it. Other guy just got lost and didn't know if he was going to kick or not.

  • That's Chun-Li's move in Street Fighter, must be her son.

  • if only peolpe knew what sanshou is all about...

  • Cung le comes from mainly a sanshou background.

  • @crice2492 He is a blackbelt in TKD who competed in Sanshou. His background his Taekwondo, his kicks are pure Taekwondo. So many San Shou fans claim he is San Shou. lol He is Taekwondo who "competed" in San Shou competitions. Being a black belt in TKD myself it is easy to see he is TKD. He also competed in kickboxing but u dont hear people say his kicks are from kickboxing lol Sanshou fans are dying to have someone represent them lol Cung Le is Taekwondo NOT Sanshou, he only competed in Sanshou.

  • @realityIZanILLUSION TKD is for girly men such as yourself. All those side kicks and they did NOTHING. In the UFC hes just gonna get taken down and smashed like any TKD fighter would in a real fight.

  • @Dan0101010101010 lol u are one retarded person huh? Cung was middle weight champion at Strike Force. He was successful in kickboxing & Sanshou fights. His 1st fight after time off,1st fight in the UFC & only 2nd loss in MMA & losers like u open ur big mouths. Some of the worlds BEST fighters came from TKD. Bas Rutten,Anderson Silva,Shogun,Cro Cop,Dan Hardy & Stephen Bonar among others. From the ages 15 to 24 I got into alot of fights & my TKD served me well...

  • @Dan0101010101010 ...I moved to kickboxing and advanced faster than everyone who was there for over 5 years. Did that for 5 years with multiple local championships & titles then moved to BJJ. I been doing BJJ for 2 years. Trust me dude, I have no problem in ANY situation. Most the time I end the fight before it even begins by a sidekick.Go watch Cungs fights u idiot...obviously this UFC fight was the 1st u have seen.Strikeforce is the same as UFC. U really have no clue. Go cry some more princess

  • @Dan0101010101010 ohh and I forgot to mention, Cung is a great wrestler. What makes u think he will get beat on the ground? lol u sound very uneducated. I know why u mad, is it coz ur jealous that Cung does TKD? Its ok princess dont be mad. If TKD is for "girly men" & Bas Rutten, Silva, Shogun,Cor Cop trained it then what does that make u? A fairy princess!!! lol. Everyone knows Muay Thai, Wrestling & BJJ together is the best mix, but why do u diss TKD? Coz ur an insecure fairy lol. Grow up dude

  • Is it just me or does Cung Le have a hard-on during this fight?

  • @EGarrett01 just you.

  • lol joe rogan pussyass talk shit on kung fu i like to see him take on cung lee or any real kungfu artist in china and if he hate it cuz it is an asian ma then he is an idiot for praticing judo and bjj which is an asian base style martial arts. bjj= judo ground move combine with jujuitsu ground move hence thee japanee word jujuitsu..it part of the jujuitsu ma branch

  • /watch?v=zhtq6asvM_s Pretty One!

  • man i hate it when i spar with guys with good side kicks im always tidim to stike cause they can shoot the kick out just as i come in

  • Sweet Gut Music

  • Well it's more pushing side kick than actual power side kick. Can do no damage but create distance, put opponent out of balance or cut an attack

  • @3bepko Which is what that kick was originally intended to do, therefore making the Sanshou/Sanda side kick the most effective version

  • no those kicks werent faint, or used as distraction, he was kicking him hardas he could but lack of memomentum from such a close range means ineffective kick, at best these kicks served as distance keepers.

  • His side kick is really good and he did knockout alot of people with body side kick. He have a great judgement. His opponent cant even get in!

  • Well,100% technical kicks,beautiful,i admire him,BUT ANY DAMAGE...he never ko´d someone with a kick...

  • @GabrielDhalaman

in MMA he knocked out Sammy Morgan with a body kick, won by tko against Frank Shamrock by breaking his arm with a kick. In his kickboxing career nearly half of his wins were by knockouts with kicks.

  • @GabrielDhalaman Remember damage is cumulative, it doesn't have to be the knockout kick for it to seriously hurt your opponent, kicks can take massive amounts out of your energy which can set other attacks up.

  • thumbs up is joe sent you here

  • @brendan1444 who's joe

  • @hurley56476 joe mothaf****n rogan!!!

  • @hurley56476

    joe rogan

  • @hurley56476 joe??? joe mother?

  • @hurley56476 jo bonten, the only man who is feared more than chuck norris.......

  • @hurley56476 Joe Rogan

  • nice vid. but i dont see the hook kick, its a roundkick

  • @kore555 Ya I see a roundhouse kick right there too. A hook kick is off the front leg.

  • @kore555 ya hes thrown lead leg hook kicks to how did yoluigi fuck that up

  • @kore555 some styles call a round kick a hook kick, jkd for example.Anyway, none of those sidekicks had any effect, they are fast pushes and take a lot of energy, having done itf tkd for 17 yrs and tried to side kick in kickboxing and thai matches many times,it can be landed but rarely does damage, its more like the jab only it cant be followed quick enough

  • cung le :)

  • Thanx great video

  • CUNG LE!!!!!
