Earth Wind & Fire live in Ostia Antica (Roma) 2007 - Fantasy

Questi non sono gli Earth Wind and Fire originali. E' semplicemente una cover band capitanata da Al Mc Kay, un ex chitarrista che ha suonato con gli EWF fino al 1981. Purtroppo da diversi anni in Italia questo concerto viene presentato come se fossero gli originali, e la gente che non li conosce bene è convinta di aver visto gli originali, pagando anche biglietti salati. E' una vergogna.

@wender64: ma prima di commentare perchè non leggi i commenti precedenti? E cmq Al McKay non è 'un ex chitarrista', era il maggior esponente del gruppo nonchè autore dei pezzi più belli.

Al Mc Kay è stato anche autore di diversi pezzi ma non era il maggior esponente del gruppo. Il leader e fondatore degli EWF è Maurice White insieme con Philip Bailey. Al Mc Kay è arrivato dopo.

Gli EWF hanno fatto una sola tournè in Italia, nel 1997.

Questa che si vede nel video è una cover band dove a parte Al McKay tutti gli altri sono musicisti sconosciuti. Il problema è che gli organizzatori vendono e pubblicizzano questo concerto come se fossero gli originali.

...e poi bastava guardare il sito ufficiale degli EWF per vedere che mentre questo gruppo di Al Mc Kay suonava in Italia, gli originali Earth Wind and Fire erano in tournè negli USA. Per quanto siano grandi non hanno il dono dell'ubiquità

Io c'ero (visto che l'ho registrato) ed è stato bello! L'importante è quello. E c'ero anche nel 1997, anche se fuori dallo stadio del tennis di Roma...

Quelli del 1997 erano gli originali e li ho visti anche io, a Taormina. Non questi.

Mi da fastidio che gli organizzatori speculino su questo concerto facendoli passare per gli originali, facendo pagare anche biglietti salati.

Al mio paese questa si chiama "pubblicità ingannevole", ed è diversi anni che va avanti. Io me ne sono accorto già nel 2003 e mi sono fatto restituire i soldi prima del concerto.

Solo una cosa per concludere. In precedente messaggio in inglese dici che gli EWF non stanno più insieme da quando Maurice White è stato male. Non è affatto vero. Ti consiglio di vedere la loro pagina su facebook, troverai anche le foto che hanno fatto a febbraio alla Casa Bianca con Obama dove hanno suonato in suo onore. Fanno ancora concerti, anche se ovviamente senza Maurice White.

..Mr. Maurice White was one of the 'founders' of EWF...And EWF has gone on without him being present. Who said they still do not play togther ..? Phillip Bailey, Verdine White and Ralph Johnson played about 6 months ago in Vegas, I believe..I used to live there, and I also saw them perform at the EWF Ice Show Special ( IT WAS GREAT< by the way..)

Esto no es Earth Wind & Fire, esto es la banda de Al mckay, no confundan a la gente, esto es falso earth wind & fire suena mucho mejor. EW&F es Philip Bailey, Verdine White, Ralph Johnson,etc.

This is Al McKay's band. He "hires" the name from Maurice White. In other words, he pays money to use the name "Earth, Wind and Fire". He named this band "The Earth, Wind and Fire Experience". I saw them in The Hague a year ago, and they where okay. The "real"EW&F are much better. The real EW&F are Philip Bailey, Verdine White and Ralph Johnson. Maurice White operates from California, but does not tour anymore.

...You are correct on that; I have been an EWF fan( not a groupie) since High School.. Mr. Maurice does 'hire out' the use of the name, but the REAL EWF will always remain teh best.. it is who they are, and waht they do..and Phillip Bailey also does Christian Music , in case you didn't know

Hi Arlen, I agree entirely with you, the real EWF are much better. I'm not sure that Al McKay hires the name from Maurice tho - am sure I read somewhere that EWF were watching his activities very closely.

the current EWF consists of Philip Bailey, Ralph Johnson and Gary Bias i believe from the original group.

flapic has a legit point. If I know correctly, Al Mckay is the guy that did all the funky riffs in old EWF.

You are right they are not the REAL EW&F, but you should also know that EW&F are no more together since Maurice White got sick and the rest of the band splitted.

Al McKay, who's probably the most representative member of the old group and author of some of their best songs, set up this new band and is touring the world continuing the EW&F experience.

So, this is definitely the closest thing to the REAL EW&F you can see live nowaday.

Anyone with a brain or a REAL EWF fan knows this is NOT them. You're a phony! I hope the real band doesn't run across this. They visit youtube quite a bit. Don't lie to get people to look at your poor video. What's the matter with you??!!
