So you're telling us that most addons lose compatibility after updates because the author limits when their addon is compatible? I mean, I am seeing this works, and it's just stunning. I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt here and assume that there's an SDK for FF addons that does the automatic limiting itself to whatever the current version is that FF chooses.
For older extensions you have already installed you can also use an extension called 'nightly testers tools'. It works great on most extensions. You simply right click any incompatible extension and choose the option 'force compatibility' and you are done.
When I rename the new zipped folder with the extension .xpi it doesnt change the icon like yours did. Then when I drag it into Firefox it ask me what I want to open it with. Please Help.

I have a problem, i don't have Zip files, i have WinRAR Zip Archive, so when i add .xpi it just saves as xpi.ZiP
