I have a iPod shuffle 4th gen. Don't like it as much as my 2nd gen(which sadly i lost). I can't figure out how to return to the begining of "all songs". On the 2nd gen all you had to do was click the play button 3 times. Anyone know how??? (And no, holding down the voice over button and choosing "all songs" does not work).

needless to say the only ipod i've ever had was a Gen 2 ipod nano back in the day, so when i was given the 6th gen ipod shuf..i mean nano (lol) i was a little confused. im sad i can't customize the "apps" at ALL, use my own pix for the background, or even get used to the small size, but it is pretty great at giving me something to listen to when i get tired of my own music collection.

just wish the radio sound quality was better, so much static! i can't help being too short to get good sound :(

The only reason why the slaughtered the iPod Nano, was to promote the iPod Touch. Think about it, they take away video playback, external speakers, and a camera. The new iPod Touch now has a camera, including all the things they took away from the previous nano. So people that thought that the nano 6g was going to be AMAZING, was shot down, making them go for the next best thing (touch). So, either some poor sucker will buy this, or be smart and go with the iPod touch. That's what they want! XD

Dude, the iPod touch 4g is friken awesome!!!! (although Apple totally ruined the nano, "r.i.p.") and with the ipod touch, you can use skype to send calls and download different apps to send texts! plus you can play games on it, record video, take pics, listen to the radio, and go on the internet.

My point : iPod touch 4g is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

When it comes to the Ipod Touch it's design and features are amazing.. When it comes to the Nano on the other hand, idk what concept they were trying to go for. If anything,that design should have been the new Shuffle.. When it comes to the Shuffle, it does what it does..

i love the ipod touch 4g. that was what everyone has wanted the ipod to be and either that or the ipad will be replacing my ipod touch 2g soon but the nano has a nice idea but i think would sell better being listed as the new shuffle. and i think the nano should have just stayed at 5g as is. i like that nano. but regardless ipods are pretty damn nice.

This is just my opinion though, maybe they are just stupid and never thought about that. Who knows...

Thing is, right now by purchasing this you're not getting an ipod nano. You're simply getting a touch-screen, high-storage ipod shuffle. Why? because all the features that made it different from the shuffle, such as its digital camera, its video features, and its games, are no more. They were all sacrificed to earn a clip on its back and the smallest screen an ipod has ever had.

Wow, would have expected more than just a screen update and camera for the iPod Touch. Apple does really like to stretch out their release times though.

The Nano is a joke compared to last years model but I am glad that the shuffle has made it back into its original skin. Would have liked a better version of last years Nano and wish Apple took the memory upgrade for the Nano and put it in the Shuffle. Just my opinions.

Great review I normally never upgrade, but the 3G im Sending this on is longer As cool. I'm surprised they added so many of the features of the iPhone 4. The front facing camera is a big suprise. They even improved te bqttery by a substantial amount.The nano redesign is stupid, but it a good step in the right direction. this was a very good review. seeing the still images from the new iPod Touch made me realize the camera is not quite as bad as some people made it out to be (I was expecting something horridly pixelated and barely distinguishable but the pic was clear). i'm now leaning toward getting this new Touch.

also, i liked the observation that the new nano should have been the new shuffle! good idea! and yeah i would much much rather have had the previous generation nano than this new one!

@theincredible562 Not yet, as it runs iOS 4.1. But I'm sure that a jailbreak will come out for it in the coming weeks because 4.1 offers a bunch of new features (uploadable video and HDR photos are a worthy reason to create a new jailbreak)
