  • WILLIAM COOKE, WILLIAM COOKE, WILLIAM COOKE.

  • Pretty ordinary biscuit if you ask me but I fell in love with Oreos American allure way before it was commercially available on retail shelves here, when my cousin brought a couple of packets all the way from US - that was in early 2001 but the taste has lingered. There's something secret and seductive about the black n' white combo, the blue plastic wrapper and the magical-sounding words...O...R...E...O. This brand is the ultimate devil's weapon, plays on consumer psychology like no other.

  • is it charlie or johnny because me and my sister had a bet

  • @lbpmadpeople Its neither it Jimmy :)

  • Awww this remind me of the American version of a similar commercal.

Except our Oreo commercal goes like this:

    First you twist it

    Then you lick

    Then you dunk it

    mmm

Mom..mom said chocolate is bad for dogs, dogs shouldn't eat chocolate...but you can have my milk.

British ad campaners must have watched american ads in order to sell this amerrican product to the british people and did their own twist on a cute commercal.

  • can someone explain the fascination with Oreo biscuits to me, apart from the fact that they are American and as everyone knows everything American = gr8, but the UK is the biscuit capital of the world, it's about one of the only things we do well. What Oreos remind me of is when you go your nan's and she offers u the biscuit tin and there is like 1 bourbon left that's been there for 5 years and it covered with all the old crumbs of the other biscuits, they taste like they are made from sand

  • @yakacm Nine out of ten americans certainly do not think anything American = great. It's the rest of you countries who have a weird love/hate obsession with American things. Everyone I know in this country likes plain old chocolate chip the best of any cookie, oreos are just popular for their high sweetness.

  • @Scythemantis I think we have a fascination with you and you with us, I was lucky to work in the US a few years back, and it was impossible to get decent tea, but you get all these ppl who think they are dead sophisticated cuz they drink English breakfast tea, u can't even buy a product by that name in the UK. I wasn't criticising the states, more ppl who blindly think something is gr8 cuz of where it' from. Brit biscuits(& Sweets) tend to be a lot sweeter the US ones so more suited to us.

  • @yakacm forgot to add, I never liked that phony chocolate flavor in those black cookies anyway. The completely vanilla oreos taste much better to me, but are a recent invention and I don't think they've sent those over to the UK.

  • @Scythemantis I can verify that Oreos from USA, Spain and UK all taste the exact same.

The UK ones are made by KRAFT, whereas the others are Nabisco... All scrummy, though... :D

  • @Scythemantis yeah I think that is also what I meant I have tried Oreos over here and in the States and I think they just taste weird, kind of sandy gritty and as you say the flavour is just plain weird,it tastes like burnt matches, it's funny you saying about them being sweet, cuz compared to UK biscuits they aren't that sweet. Biscuits are important to brits, there was even a debate in parliament over if a jaffa cake was a biscuit or a cake, cuz there is higher tax on cakes than biscuits.

  • ''Never mind Chummie'' has become a household sayin in our house when things go wrong...lol...not over keen on those charcoaled oreo biscuits though :(

  • Dogs name is 'Johnny'. My family is english, So i can tell lol.

  • i feel freakin ripped off, bought a box and every biscuit i tried to open, broke apart except for one that got past the twist and lick and then it fell to pieces when i tried to dunk....

  • @NoOneComments that can happen if they are colder than they should be. Keep them at room temp for a while or warmer, and it may solve it -- may.

Mine always break too, but than again, I just throw them down my gullet hahahaha!

  • aww sly on the dog

  • Nice advert- How to tease a dog

  • If I was that dog I would have bitten the child. Stupid ad to encourage teasing dogs.

  • Guyss whatss the dog called because all my mates on facebook say its charlie ?? and i cant quite hear it thankyouu <3 xx

  • I love this advert....really warm and a break from all the other shite we have to put up with

  • Even more sad i think it is a 1967, but if i am wrong then let me know

  • God i must be sad ,cus is that a Pontiac GHO on his T shirt ? as my son Jamie would notice that before anything else

  • Its obviously Chummnie

  • THE SOUTH AFRICAN VERSION WAS THE BEST! THIS IS A RIP OFF OF IT!

  • @ImAntiConformity Well make sure to toss yourself off well and truly proper :) Only positive thing to come out of that shit hole then.

  • His mom should've also told her son that "dogs shouldn't eat chocolate".

  • @aGwEENapple

Agreed. Isn't there an ingredient in some chocolate that is poisonous to dogs?.

Seems like an irresponsible/thoughtless ad unless the pack makes it clear

that the chocolate is safe for dogs unlike other choc products.

  • actually they dont cut out the bit where is says 'so i'll have to eat your too' dumb ass

  • LICK IT

    BREAK IT

  • @myexpositions THANKYOU!

  • LICK IT.

    DUNK IT.

    thats what she said.

  • Last time i said to my dog that dogs shouldnt eat biscuits. she bit me

  • where the fuck is the American add?? This one is fucking rip off and shit!

  • yah, thought it was Charlie but ya now that i go back Chumley sounds right.

  • @elusivewizard , i know this is a late reply but this is an advert in the UNITED KINGDOM, you will never hear anyone in england with the name 'troy' it is soooooo american.

  • @MizJohanaah I am British, and I know 2 people called Troy hehe.

  • the dogs name is chum

  • i love this! :) x

why is it so cute? <3

  • on my holiday camp recently me and my friends had a big discussion debating for like an hour (yes, i know, we're incredibly sad xD) about the dog's name.

i was positive his name was charlie, and by watching this i still am! half of my friends thought it was jimmy, but it doesn't sound anything like jimmy?

sorry if you don't care but yahno [:

i love oreos, favourite biscuit by far.

    [: x

  • LOL on holiday at camp, me and all my friends had a debate for like an hour (sad, yes i know xD) about what the dog's name was. i was very sure it was charlie, but most of them said it was jimmy? and i watched it now and it sounds nothing like jimmy?

sorry if you dont care but yahno :D

    i love oreos.

  • me and my friends had the exact same debate last night most of them were sure it was charlie but me and one of my friends still think its johnny!

  • never mind charly ; )

  • CUZ DOGS DONT EAT CHOCLATE!!! LOL

  • PLEASE

DOES ANYONE KNOW THE BREED OF THIS DOG?

    I reeeeeeeeeallllllllyyyy want to know : ( thank you : D

  • I've tried Oreo and its horrible. Its doesnt really taste of chocolate and cream thing in the middle is tasteless. And its way too sweet.

    Leave biscuit-making to the British.

  • UK Oreos are not the same as American. The UK ones are made in the EU and they taste different to American ones. American ones are much tastier.

  • @fdama omg its a fucking cookie, not a biscut

  • it's a biscuit though

  • the dogs name is try

    "never mind Try" :)) x

  • aw that boy is so adorable

  • @LMFAOroflcopter tht kids mum taught me in science 2day

  • i LOVE this advert. The "First you twist it, then you lick it, then you dunk it" bit has been stuck in my head for a few days

  • i don't know if anyone else has noticed, but the advert they show on tv now is missing the part '...so i'm going to have to eat yours too'.

my guess is that they've had stupid complaints from people with no lives, or the lousy government have made them change it as it probably encourages child obeesety. what is the world coming to??? and it's the main punchline of the advert. i very much doubt they wanted to shorten it. seems pointless. stupid govenment.

  • Yeah the new version does cut a line out, and I think it's just cos it's old advert now, and it has just been cut down for time. I always say the cut line when it is on TV though, lol....

  • Hi Ad - I'm guessing that it really has nothing to do with government, but instead a reaction to complaints from people worried that kids might start feeding biscuits and chocolate to their dogs.

  • its chummy ahaha x

  • Yeah, Chummie / Chummy, same thing. :)

I am glad someone else hears it the same as me lol...

  • makes me rage so much :|

  • ok wtf is the dogs name its pissing me off?

    jimmy, charlie?

  • When I first put the video up last year, there was a massive (and most of the time abusive) debate as to what the dog's name is.

I personally hear it as 'Chummie'.

  • lol kool kool

  • To me it just says "Never mind, try" I cant hear it as anything but "try"

  • That kid is a litle bugger, teasing that poor dog.

  • never mind chummy...

  • this kid is my school teachers son :D

  • hha it has a mistake in it

  • what's the mistake?

  • It's where he dips the Oreo in the milk. Just before he says "Theeen... you dunk it."

In one shot, it's in two pieces, then the next shot it's back together with no linking shot of him joining it back together, and to be honest, I don't really mind the mistake, the advert is 30 sec's long and it has to be exact, so thats where the mistake happened I am guessing, in the trimming process of the editing.......

The mistake is hardly noticable, but some people make a fuss over it.

    -- FC6

  • to be honest i think that's because he sandwhiched them back together himself, like with 1 lick you cant take away allll the white stuff, just get a taste of it. so like it looks like he licked it then pressed them together n dunked it in the milk, would make more sense then dunking them separately cause one would have no white cream n would b crap llolll

  • sounds a bit like salad fingers or what ?

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA U JOKER SO TRUE

  • mistake in the 10th second. From half a buiscuit to a full one when he dunks it!!

  • he would've put it back together..

  • aaahhh i want the Australian ad of this too, its like impossible to find :( does anybody have it or know where to find it?...it's super cute.

  • OMG that dog is SO CUTE! And Oreos are so nice!

  • Chummie! xP

    That kid is soooo adorable.

  • Does anyone know what kind of dog this is!!?? This is the type of dog my daughters and i have been looking for

  • and seriously if you really need subs to understand this you are retarded. but hey it's not as bad as hollywood remaking spanish zombie flick [rec] before it's even been released there just because jo schmo public cant read subs and watch pictures at the same time...bless.

  • The subtitles are to settle an argument for someone calling the dog Jimmy insted of Chummie. And I am NOT retarded.

  • it wasn't directed at you, rather at the addition of subtitles for people that couldn't understand a northern accent. a trend i've seen i a fair few youtube vids posted for Americans.apologies for the misunderstanding :-)

  • i love the states and love eating out in nyc but the american and british sweet tooth are very different. oreos are inferior to mcvities.

  • Okay Jo I stand defeated. It SOUNDS like Jimmy though! ;)

  • THANKS FOR PUTTING THE SUBTITLES UP.

    YOUVE PROVED MY POINT.

    <333 MUCH LOVE.

    x

  • I typed the subs myself by using YouTube's great new feature called Annotations. Saves me having to re-uplaod the video and lose my 22,123 count (at the moment...)

Chummie!! And Sparkle it sound a TINY bit like Jimmy, but there is a 'ch' sound there...

Anyway, I love this ad still and I'm glad everyone else does too...

  • lol thanks anyway, you just ended an ongoing debate xD

    speak soon =D

    x

  • OKAY.

this is some really sad debate going on between me and my friends.

he says never mind chummie in a northern accent. yet all my mates believe he says jimmy. someone agree with me, sounds nothing like jimmy!!

    x

  • I agree with you, it is 100% Chummie, not Jimmy

  • yayyyyyyy =D

  • Englands biscuits are the best! America allways have to go over bored with the fking sugar! Or bring out new ones! Like rice krispies!!! Choco krispies WTF and coca-cola vanilla what was wrong with old Normal and diet coke ?

  • Oreos are Disgusting! I eat them for a little while but there is to much salt! And besides the choco biscuits are not the same ones as they use in the us and canada! SHAM!!!

  • Thank-you for that.

It's just an advert for a biscuit, for those who like Oreo's. Why is there such confilct over A BISCUIT?

IT'S A BISCUIT, NOTHING MORE -- NOTHING LESS...

  • Ok, people are fighting over a biscuit?! Thats pretty pathetic

  • how does the oreo get whole again before he dunks it?????????????

  • theirs only one way to settle this dispute about who makes the better biscuits, america or england. and thats with a cup of tea to dunk them in, england 1 america 0.

  • Right, when the little fella eats the biscuit, and goes "uuuummm" and moves his hand to below his mouth is he A. Trying to catch the crumbs or B. Moving his hand around like when you rub you belly when something tastes good??

Just trying to settle a dispute! I think its A for the record!!

  • For an advert, it's hardly persuasive.

  • jeez that kid is a cunt

  • ONLY OREO

  • They're okay but in no way the best.
