Thank you very much for this video, I have owned the festool domino for over a year, and I couldn't get my joints perfect, I thought it was just a lack of skill on my behalf. But after calibrating the machine, what a pleasure, Thank you again. Great help.
@adamnjones2000 Glad it helped, Adam! Once you have the calibration it seems you never need to do it again, unless you're silly enough to un-calibrate it so you can make a video, but that's silly :)
I was wondering if maybe you also have a clever method on how to calibrate the Festool TS 55.
Although my TS 55 is in the 0 degree position, it doesen´t make really straight cuts in the depth. I tried to calibrate it by turning the 2 adjusting screws slightly, but after trying this for a while, the cuts didn´t get any better. They are kind of uneven now. I just can´t find a good systematic on how to turn both screws in the right amount...
@Pastafreund That doesn't sound like any fun when nothing gets joined square. Rick Christopherson's manual on the TS-55 includes (page 11) a set of instructions detailing how to correct that problem. YouTube won't allow a link in a comment, but go here: waterfront-woods (dot) com/festool/ and look at the TS-55 manual page 11. Sorry for the 'encoded' link; YouTube is funny that way...
I always used to use the triangular window in the centre of the fence as a guide to the centre and then use the adjustable plastic one for cutting mortices off centre
