  • funny thing is that the muppet show taught us children about most of good music, teching us about listening to the beatles, rufus wainwright, queen, EVEN ALICE COOPER !! thank you muppets for making us know what real music is and fuck JB

  • I'd like to hear Sad Kermit do Mull of Kintyre. Complete with the bagpipes.

  • still sad ;(

  • FUCKING HELL 168, 400 views?? I should check my youtube account more often.

  • @fhyd WE FUCKING LOVE KERMIT <3

  • the poor song ...

  • I hate miracle whip but I like my kermit

  • the guitar cover is beautiful....Kermit's vocal of tis song.....not te best, but nice

  • Lets not forget Kermit sang RAINBOW CONNECTION which was written for him in the first Muppet movie. That not exactly happy the whole song through either. What makes Kermit so timeless is his ability to always find a way to pick himself up when he is feeling down.

  • In tears of laughter listening to this.....

  • I personally have to say, hearing this song- a song I already liked- and then hearing Kermit sing it... I didn't expect my reaction, I was more curious at first, but I just found myself smiling. I loved Kermit as a kid, and for those complaining about him singing a sad song- he's famous for singing "It isn't easy being green"! I was surprise how much I enjoyed it :)

  • Lovely kermit <3

  • LMFAO priceless

  • Like Jonny Cash, listening to a sad Kermit takes the sadness out of me. Jonny Cash said he wears black to take in your sadness, i guess green works too...

  • Cohen is the man, I'd've prefered to hear kermit singing that one. Not to diminish this, Kermit makes everything better! I'm still waiting for Sad Kermit singing Suicide Is Painless though ;-P

  • halleijluja halleijluja xD

  • i like kermit singing these songs better than the original artist kermit just makes it better and yet sader as well

  • i think kermit makes this awsome and sad

  • LOVE

  • Why is Kermit so sad?

  • @ferlinkoh Jim Henson died...

  • Why would anyone try to turn such an iconic and fun character into something so depressing?! I listened to the Needle in the Hay and it made me want to jump off a cliff!! This is messed up.

  • Great that they covered the Jeff Buckley version. No offence, but imo Cohen's version is a bit dull.

  • @Karathi87 I prefer Buckley's as well

  • @misfitsg17

    how! ITS KERMIT!

  • @laptopboy3 HELL YAZEZ

  • here Kermit, take this gun :))

  • sounds good to me :0

  • If this weren't Kermit, everyone would most likely make fun of the person singing... just saying, its funny.

  • J A I M E !!!!!!!

  • Kermit is dead. Long live Kermit.

  • aaaaaawwwww this is perfect....

    perfect song

    perfect singer...

I'm starting to miss Kermit now

  • I LOVE KERMIT I WANT ONE

  • Sad Kermit is awesome!

  • I love how this is so much better than Alexandra Burke's version :')

  • Hallelujah!

  • And I thought Cale and Buckley's rendition of Cohen's classic were great! Never have liked Wainwright's versions much, and yes I know many others have done it. But I think the first 3 I mentioned are the best. I particularly like the strings on Cale's version. The guy's a genius.

  • 6:09-6:30.

  • nice version, not really a good Version of Kermit's Voice, but nice indeed

I really like the Wainwright Version, and above all teh Popa Chubby Version!!

  • best version of this song LOL

  • how about the Jeff Buckley version which this is directly copying? it's Cohen's song...but this is almost exactly Buckley's guitar line in his cover

  • @grasperxxx No shit Sherlock ;)

  • Did you not get that I was responding to SethMan91 with that comment?

  • I love this!

Not to advertise, but Brandi Carlile does an awesome cover of the song.

  • i love like he says "hallelujah"!

  • If an icon of happiness like Kermit can get sad like this, then there truly is no hope.

  • My fav song and by the BEST Frog ever!!!!!

  • Dude - what are y'all talkin' 'bot? Kermit totally wrote this jam!

  • i laughed out loud when he started singing but after a while, i feel sad and depressed... T_T

i ma go get a cigarette now... T_T

  • Its a cover of a cover.

  • unless the origional cover changed the origional copy of thesong then its the cover of the origional copy

  • Leonard Cohen had some verses that Jeff Buckley did not. The styles were also a bit different.

  • jeff buckly?, don't you been lenard cohen

  • This is Buckley's cover, the song is Cohen's.

  • Other than the guitar intro, it's still Cohens song. You can't really cover a cover. And lets face it, there really isn't much diff between Cohens version and Buckley's other than Cohen has a much deeper voice.

  • the buckley has an entirely different tone than cohen's, and most modern interpretations (this one included) follow buckley's rather than cohen's style.

  • John Cale's cover actually has one or two different verses than Cohen, and Buckley's cover is actually a cover of Cale's cover of Cohen.

  • Of course you can fucking cover a cover

  • amen

  • wow, even a puppet frog can sing better then the winner of the biggest music talent competition in the uk. kudos :D

  • 'and the photos are better than a dark screen :D '

  • yes it is, i more ment this version is a spoof of Buckleys version, i.e rhythm etc, Cohens original sounds completely different
