The easiest way is to download Logmein, logmein is simple. once downloaded, go to the website and add the computer your on, do to another computer such as your own with the programme installed and go on the site, the computer u added should be listed. click the listed pc and BAM ur controlling it, by far the easiest way to control

when i go to the remote setting, the second box, with the radio buttons (the one at the bottom) does not show up on ANY computers I have used. And I have not been able to connect to a computer on my own network however i can ping the IP address and it recognizes it. any help?

You can use "Remote Assistance" to remote control your other computer while it is still logged in. This product would also work well to provide remote assistance or deliver a live tutorial. This should work pretty sweet for you but if it doesn't try downloading and installing VNC. That would also work well.

Can RDC enable me to run software from my laptop that it would not normally be able to handle? Say...parametric modeling software? I have a desktop that can handle it, but I like moving around the house. If I were to install the software into the laptop it wouldn't be able to run.

Is there any way to view the host computer while it's being controlled, or is it always locked? For instance, would I be able to remotely connect to the host PC from another computer to give someone a tutorial, or to simply operate it from across the room? I want to use my desktop PC as just a media center connected to my HDTV, while using a netbook for everything else. I'm trying to find out how to control the desktop from the couch without having to buy bluetooth peripherals.
