  • between 80-120 per 24-hour period. Sometimes it is only 20-40 if there is trackwork in the area.

  • That's amazing, I didn't think it was that many trains that went through there daily! (though I was guessing it was a decent number per day)

Now I just wanna visit Rochelle more now....

  • UP does between 80-100 trains a day while BNSF does 20-40 a day. Check out my video of Rochelle, it gives a detailed look at it with alot of information. Search youtube for Trackside with Mike and click on the Rochelle Episode.

  • According to the FRA (Federal Railroad Administration), the UP gets 55 trains per day, and the BNSF gets 35. It is usually a 4/1 ratio. For every 4 UP trains, their will be one BNSF train. That is usually how it is throughout the day. In the early morning, though, their seem to be more BNSF in an hour than UP.

  • This is true. I've noticed a lot of BNSFs appear when you get in at 5 AM as opposed to 10 AM.

  • been meaning to go there once. How many trains go through there again?

  • love that place....looking to go back ASAP
